  1. Doesn't rub me the wrong way at all. We've been the worst CFB program of the last decade or so with the exception of one season. I like being under the radar and I want the program and our school to truly earn the change of perception.
  2. Don't completely disagree with you but if you're coming off of three 10-win seasons then automatically the standards and expectations inevitably increases big time and rightfully so.
  3. Overall the crowd was light but not really surprised tbh. The club area seemed to be a little more happening than normal in the start of teh game but maybe it's just me. Another thing I noticed from the club was the game was still close/tied in the 2nd half and it suddenly started clearing out quick with people leaving early. It was really weird to see and kinda disappointing.
  4. Need to give Toronto a ton of credit. They've been the better team top to bottom this series and I'm starting to think they're just flat out the better team than Texas and don't get enough credit.
  5. Even for a really really great team it's just hard winning a 100 games. There's always enough tough stretches and lulls that prevent you from winning that many games.
  6. Been to plenty of games at the old and current park. Make no mistake I absolutely love the current park but going there during the season is miserable. I find most of the people that don't want a new stadium and don't want a roof are ones that might attend a game a season or every few seasons. The people that buy season tix or ticket plans for multiple games absolutely want the roof. The truth is that the experience and heat is miserable and we live in a time where we all have a ton more options. We can watch it in our homes in front of a big screen HD TV or people can opt to just do something else since there's plenty to do. Times are different and the growth and traffic of the area hasn't helped at all in the lat 15 years or so. I also think it's silly putting it in Arlington. The notion that Arlington supports the Rangers couldn't be further from the truth. Attendance during weekdays have been pretty bad for a team in first place all season long. They do support the teams when building the stadiums but attendance wise it's not the way it should be. I know it won't happen but the park should be in downtown Dallas with plenty of access to go to games via the dart rail. You play 81 games a season and that ridiculous city of Arlington opting out of mass transportation annoys me to no end. Even when there are leaner years, if you have the option to get to the game via mass transit AND you have a roof and a climate controlled atmosphere people will still want to go to games and in my opinion the attendance shouldn't be as terrible as the same situation with the park being in Arlington.
  7. Eh personally I don't mind the uniforms myself.
  8. Sean Salisbury approves.
  9. The fastest and easiest way in recovering from a money perspective is to win and win now. The sense of urgency has to be there and after the MBB season hopefully Bumford gets canned and Wren can find someone to right that ship.
  10. By no means this is a knock against Houston but I just don't see how and why any of the Big 12 candidates truly increases the overall perception and benefit of the conference including Houston. They certainly don't need the market because they already have that plus it's yet another school in Texas and I think that's probably a bad thing. The point of these big/great super conferences is expanding territory of more and different markets. Now if another P5 conference came to Houston because they wanted a presence and market in Texas then I see that as a more viable scenario but I just don't see how Cincy, Houston, Memphis and even BYU makes much of a difference in elevating the conference. It's only a matter of time before Texas will completely turn that ship around and OU is still strong as we see it. Once they both get to where they were 5-10 years at the same time in addition with TCU, Baylor, and OSU still threatening then I think the conference will be fine and they will have plenty of inclusion in the playoff picture especially with TX and OU.
  11. I've had something come up and can't attend the game this Saturday against Middle Tennessee. I have 2 club seats that are aisle with a parking pass that I'm looking to sell. If anyone is interested just send me a private message. I'm also local within the DFW area so I'm open to meeting somewhere and give you the tickets.
  12. The money has gotten so much greater especially from the power 5 conferences that most non p5 schools can't match it push comes to shove. I also think all these up and coming coaches have extremely high aspirations such as legitimate national championships. In addition to the boat load of money, these coaches want that best shot at the ultimate prize which is getting to a national championship game and winning it. I think the days of creating that legacy in a smaller school or school that is always about "potential" but not history and money is probably completely gone.
  13. Think its first rushing TD not first one all together.
  14. If UH gets into the Big 12 then they'll have Big 12 money to probably give him what he wants in terms of money. He may however want the money and the far more bigger/prestige job if LSU or USC were to want his services.
  15. Is there a post game presser of SL anywhere? Haven't been able to find anything yet.
  16. Spare and overpriced. I don't get all the hype and hoopla for that place.
  17. Drama queen
  18. I don't want any body bag games whatsoever. It's embarrassing and demoralizing to pretty much have the opponent to name their score against us. There are plenty of teams in FBS we can schedule that is winnable and yet add value to the general fan's mind. When you're really bad, scheduling an FCS cupcake is nice (except last year) but if our goals and hopes are to legitimately improve the program we need to schedule all 12 games against FBS teams with all of them being winnable. Down the line if the program is truly winning and improving and if you want to give a bodybag game a try to what level you're at then I'm ok with that but other than that just say no to body bag games if possible. Going independent is a super silly idea. BYU and ND are the exceptions and even then at some point that may have to change down the line and they'll decide to gain entry to a conference of their choosing. Being in a conference gives you a home and at the very very least it gives you partners and allies in which you never know when you'll need and they'll come in handy in the future. We don't need to be independent to win games and be successful and having better schedules. Now that we have Wren at the helm I really think we'll see what a real AD is and how they operate vs a ridiculously lazy, stubborn, and apathetic one we had with RV. Improvement starts with on the field results but we also have people in place to overlook it all and make things happen mainly Wren and President Smatresk. Ultimately regardless of what we do and how much money we can generate if we don't win we'll just never get any leverage when we're trying to improve our overall athletic status and affiliations.
  19. At this point I almost feel bad for the Astros. Take away their results head to head w/Texas and they have pretty similar records. But I'll take it as I know Houston will be a machine soon within the next couple of years.
  20. When the school changed the official nickname back in 2002 this was expected. That's why I wish they kept Eagles as the primary nickname with Mean Green as a 2nd one. Growing up I've always known us to be the North Texas Eagles as has most people familiar with our university.
