  1. And they have the high TV deals because people are interested in them and want to watch them which the networks have decided and agreed that they want to pay what they want to pay because of the network's benefit. And regardless of the TV money these schools make a boat load of money and are a money making machine across the board. ESPN already streams. They're already preparing themselves and getting ahead of the curve. They'll still have the broadcasting rights etc if they so wish to do so.
  2. If you get into and master data analytics there has to be a place where you can get in. But I don't imagine it'd be super hard getting on the athletics administration side if you're willing start really small like d2 or d3.
  3. Many/most of these coaches are worth it because the revenue these schools generate from athletics far far outweigh what they pay the head coaches. 9 million a year for Michigan and schools alike is nothing. I'm glad we upped our game but even then we're still at 80. The more success we as in UNT has on the field/court the more people will be interested and the more overall money the school will generate from athletics, donations, advertising etc. At that point the value of our coaches increase and therefore warrants more money in hopes of keeping the train going.

  6. Went to Rally House in West Plano few months ago and they had a very nice and large collection right in the middle between of Texas and Texas A&M. I may stop by today and see how it looks and I'll post a pic.
  7. Haven't seen much of Iowa football this season but would that realistically be a winnable game? I know many were disappointed to see UNLV instead of a B10 team but if we get a game that is far far winnable and/or competitive for the full 60 mins even if it's against a G5 school I might prefer that. It also leaves a much sweeter taste in our mouths especially the casual/apathetic NT alums mouths b/c we can still say we won the bowl game.
  8. The ones here are. The ones in the Miami are far far better because they're so full that the chicken is always super hot and fresh and tastes much better IMO. On the whole tho I much much prefer El Pollo Regio's chicken.
  9. Semen possible
  10. I don't think this is about Houston mailing it in or the B12 decision etc. They've been average the last 3 weeks. Lost to Navy, Tulsa hung with them and they got drilled by SMU. Maybe they were just overrated to begin with but I will give where credit is due it's a really good win for the SMU program and Morris.
  11. Initially wasn't planning on going next week but I'm definitely reconsidering and going down to SA.
  12. Just saw this from our president. This guy is great.
  13. Hopefully by then Littrell will have an old friend with a son he can offer a scholarship to so he can play QB for us.
  14. Just focus on the next task at hand. Beat UTSA.
  15. North Texas to the Mountain West Conference FTW.
  16. I find it weird that some alums would go to the HoD game and won't ever come to Denton. If that is the case then maybe they're the issue. Denton isn't not more than 30-45 mins away for most of the metroplex so building a pipeline in Dallas doesn't make any sense to me because Denton is part of DFW as a whole.. If people want to come to Denton then they will...if they don't then they simply won't. I just think the school and athletics program haven't ever really given our alums to care enough to come to Denton and be connected. We have to fill up Apogee every game first and we only achieve that by winning and winning big including consistently flirting top 25 ranking. We have Apogee and built it for a reason.
  17. The day we can fit 90k+ in a stadium is the day we can maybe consider something like this. The Cotton Bowl is way way big. We had what 38-40k for the HoD Bowl and the amount of emptiness of the stadium was still extremely much. That said we don't need a State Fair game. We're just 30-45 minutes north of the fair and if you don't want to drive you can even get there via the rail. Let's try to sell out Apogee first and keep on winning and building momentum.
  18. It's not rocket science people. What incentive has the school and program given alums and people in general to attend games and do it consistently? This program has been a joke and embarrassment for a very very very long time. If you win they will come. The thougth that Apogee would be the savior was foolish because the product inside it has still been a big turd with the exception of one flukey season. So when you're awful combined with the fact that there are A TON of other entertainment options you can put your dollars to we know why people don't show up to our games. Just keep on winning and building the program the right way and the attendance will take care of itself.
  19. Not only it amped up the team but it amped the hell out of me and much of the home crowd.
