hmmm interesting, we would be 4-7? With wins over Tulsa at home, a ranked LSU on the road, Kansas St on the road, LA Tech on the road...tempting...especially if this is the rebuilding year... If we would win conference AND the bowl game that is what we should be doing, getting outcoached by the likes of Memphis and Southern Mississippi badly is not acceptable for a program that is supposed to be building (and that is not saying anything against the coaches of those 2 strong programs, but rather a benchmark for where we should be)

I don't know, you went to the game so it must not bother you as much as some people. I think it's great if you went and had a good time I was just offering a better explanation than the opposing fans as to why there weren't more traveling fans... I remember leaving the NT-UT game where we lost 27-0 glad I went and proud of how we played (especially defensively), and if we still played competitively we would have more traveling fans...

most NT fans I know are tired of spending money to go to an out of conference away game where we don't show up due to the piss-poor game plan and apparant lack of preperation...

winning the bowl game would cure a lot of ills from this season, but unless we play a Sunbelt team in the bowl I am not holding my breath...

It's not called "funny", it's called coaching... speaking of which, if we fire the OL coach and get someone in here who can teach technique we could be alright next year...other than that we have players who could be something special... most of the so called "negative" people on the board knew that it was a rebuilding year, we just didn't know that we wouldn't even be competitive at all...

Coach is right... it boils down to this... as a head football coach and with any faculty staff you are an AMBASSADOR for the school, that is your job, if you can not do this then you need to go. Taking shots at the school, alumni, fans is inexcusable, period. I don't understand why someone could be like this especially since all he has done is gotten support from the school, they have done everything but have Dickey Day and have a parade for him...I would have asked DD, if you think that you have the most difficult situation of anyone in the conference what would make it easier? a fatter raise? another extension? a new stadium? new fans? the problem is not the players, it is the coach that passes the mentality of us against the school... I remember last year walking up to a player after a game, extending my hand and saying "Good game", he laughed at me and walked right by...this attitude is funneled down from a coach who doesn't want to be here...

a good coach makes adjustmests, period. We haven't had that since Deloach left...

I would say that the product has not necessarily gotten better, but the players we are recruiting have gotten better, it just so happens that we are in the midst of a rebuilding year...and our O-line coach was a terrible hire, sorry I had to throw that in there

No, I am tired of people acting like everything is alright and that it is okay that over the offseason we forgot how to block, we have players who can't make grades, we STILL have discipline problems...blah, blah, blah the list goes on and on... The real thing? I don't know if I would go that far...and thinking that he is the best coach out there for us? how would you know? Surely we could find an assistant coach at a BCS program that could teach discipline or make adjustments or play to win or not slam the school/alumni/fans...

Do I think DD is a great coach? No, but at the same time he has recruited us to 4 straight conference titles. That being said, if he needs a year to rebuild than so be it. Let's see our players grow this year and reassess where we are next season...we can't just buy out a coach that just signed an extension...

calm down, I was referring to the Hall - Smith battle...as far as Meager, I think he is pretty even with Phillips and if Meager were 100% he would be ahead, but until he is healthy enough to throw deep Phillips should play more...but as I said, I was referring to the Hall-Smith battle...

Honestly I like Dickey. I just don't like it when he slams the fans and the school, doesn't discipline his team for personal fouls, plays not to lose, can't decide which QB is better when the choice is obvious, has a team that looks like it hasn't practiced, gameplanned etc., etc., etc.
