Sure it matters, travel, fan availability, likely opponent, game date, and media coverage Read this board, few if any fans want the Frisco experience. Some do like their distance to the game, but my guess is over ninety percent of NT fans prefer anywhere else, and all the staff and players would prefer any other bowl game.

Breaking: North Texas Makes Skyler Cassity Hiring Official
GrandGreen replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Agree and disagree, losing the top 4 or 5 rbs has to be very concerning; however Porter and McGill were great when they got the opportunity. -
OK, but those aren't exactly enormous venues. Both are listed at 450 capacity

Lost bad 58 to 73. Played even the second half, but missed a lot of shots including layups. Did not look like a well coached team. Lazy offense, with whoever can shoot first; usually does. The big positive is that Price, a freshman looks like she will be getting a lot more play. Got 10 pts, which led NT. Unfortunately Lampkin had an off game, obviously the focus of New Mexico's defense. Got pushed around under the basket by a big New Mexico frontcourt.

Behind 20-39 at half and lucky to be that close. 1-8 from the three, and 11 turnovers. Look totally outclassed, some maybe due to the location; but not this total disaster of a first half.

Kind of the price of playing any sport, you are judged.

If you are stating that .500 teams should not go to bowl, I agree. However, if .500 are allowed in bowls, than NT absolutely deserves to be included.

I doubt it, but I am certainly not going to investigate.

There have been few worse football games in NCAA history

That is obvious, Coach Morris should make a change rather than risk C. Morris.

21 fouls called on NT, versus 9 on Utah St. I think the refereeing was much in favor of USU in the second half. Discounting the stop the clock fouls in the last few minutes, the calls still seemed to me to be very tilted toward USU. USU's much slower bigs seemed to get by with a lot more pushing than the Green. I know losers often blame the refereeing, but sometimes there is merit to the allegation. Despite that, NT lost the game because of their inability to hit threes. This game should help NT continue to develop.

I don't like the refereeing thus far. Every close call seems to go to Utah St., seems like a home game for them.
-
Well, being that NT has sub-par attendance for every sport; I question your logic.

****OFFICIAL ECU vs UNT IN-GAME DISCUSSION***
GrandGreen replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
You realize that your first sentence makes no sense. You're attempting I guess; to imply posters are chicken because they don't identify themselves more fully when they express an emoji rating. Despite, the obvious; that feature has not been activated. You are also very wrong, very few college message boards identify posters that use emoji ratings. The reason that it is not done, is that instead of discussing the topic; more comments would deteriorate into personal debates. Save the bandwidth, keep the discourse to sports. -
Why Support this Program?….Seriously!?

I wonder about fans who have to announce they are not coming to the games. I doubt anyone cares, if I go to a game or not and I expect the same situation applies to you. -
***OFFICIAL UNT vs. UTSA IN-GAME DISCUSSION***
GrandGreen replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
It is obvious that no one is stopping you from voicing your displeasure with the program. I also wonder where you get anyone is happy with the season. As for as the resources, there is no way that you know that to be true, unless you know their NIL numbers and their real budget. Hint, what is reported can be made to look about anyway you want by manipulating the numbers. I am truly regretful that NT is likely not going to be invited to the Rose Bowl and will be relegated to a subpar bowl and opponent. -

It usually works that way. Lose to good teams and beat bad ones. I hope you stick with the team, but if it is too much torture, be like many others and give up. As a long mostly suffering fan, over fifty years, NT is my team. I didn't go to UT or A&M and couldn't care less about them and other the perennial powers. As far as your coach record comparison, Dodge was a bargain basement hire and didn't have a chance. McCarney was the first football hc that was hired with a competitive compensation package. Unfortunately, he had serious health issues and was a failure. Littrell and Morris were upgrades but certainly not proven D1 hc winners. I have not entirely given up on Morris, although the last game was a horrible coaching job. The defensive coordinator basically was fired by his defensive players. They are either/and/or not very talented or were poorly coached. Ether way the Defensive Coordinator is responsible. NT has two very winnable games left. Two wins and a good showing in any bowl would make this year at least a limited success. -

Not a bad fan, but you are wrong. The extra weeks of practice are valuable and failure to go to a bowl would make a disastrous year even worse. Unless it is a massive loss, the exposure is still valuable. -

Not remotely true. -

Their offenses are not that close. Agree with your second point, however Littrell was much better. -

You really think that paying more assures anything? It increases the odds that the hires will be better, but it is no guarantee that a superior coach is hired. -

Explain this, the two coaches are not similar at all. Other than both can't or couldn't win any important game. -
This class should continue, Burton's climb to a championship level team. Does anyone know how many current seniors are going to play another year? I would particularly like to see Lamkin back. I have lost track of the Covid effect.

***OFFICIAL ARMY VS MEAN GREEN IN-GAME DISCUSSION***
GrandGreen replied to Mean Green Newz's topic in Mean Green Football
NT held Army to the least points of the year, but also scored least points against them. Not exactly the normal results from this NT team.
