The off-season can’t get here fast enough
GrandGreen replied to Green with Envy's topic in Mean Green Football
Take my suggestion be like thousands of UNT alums and find another team to support. Obvious, supporting a 5-2 team with one conference loss to the pre-season favorite away is too much for you. -

With his record, he IMO was assumed to be a leading candidate for a lot of jobs. However, I doubt he really was because most schools are going to have the same obvious question I posed above, Was UTSA's success due to Harris at QB or Traylor at HC. His non-UTSA experience included assistant coach and coordinator at Arkansas for a couple of years and a great high school record at a lower level Texas high school. I think Traylor will have to rebuild UTSA's program and be successful again before he gets anything close to a P5 look,

It would of course have been better if they had of acted as you deem appropriate. However, after that debacle of a game; IMO it was a minor oversight not the afront you think.

John Hedlund given two also simultaneous yellow cards. NT trails 0-1 at half despite their usual massive advantage in shots

Should our AD & President make a statement?
GrandGreen replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I like how so many assume that NT was not asked to consider PAC membership. Being asked and turning it down is not the same as not being asked. As far as the mentioned schools having discussions about their future, they are like it or not; the highest profile teams in the AAC. I am not sure how you know NT was not part of this group, all I can guess it is an assumption. The PAC makes little sense for any of these teams. Does USF really want to travel across country for volleyball and swimming? This only makes sense if the new PAC can retain it's designation as a P5 conference. How do they do that by replacing their best teams with g5's? -
Realignment thoughts considering basketball
GrandGreen replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Who called the AAC an elite conference? Calling the old MVC; when NT was a member, not elite is not stating or implying that any other league is elite. Currently, there is only one elite conference, the SEC. The B12, B10 and ACC would be substantially lower level. What conference would not be worse if they lost 5 of their best programs? -
Realignment thoughts considering basketball
GrandGreen replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Basketball
That footprint for a while was 8 teams in 8 different states, not exactly compact. This no doubt was the best bb conference, NT has been part of; but most of the schools in that time were far from football elite. -
Realignment thoughts considering basketball
GrandGreen replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Anyone ancient enough to remember the Big West, knows this is not a good option. Super high travel, late night games, and conference and games against Western teams that few NT fans cared about. This alignment may not be bad for football and basketball; but a horrible option for olympic sports. Of course, if a PAC can get a number of close teams to Denton; than it would be more appealing. PAC was considered a P5, I doubt there is any change that could happen with the reconstituted league were the PAC remains a top tier member. The current AAC is the best conference that NT has ever been a part of considering the members and footprint. -

Was a little concerned with soccer program after last year performance, but this year's team looks to be much improved. -

Why do I get the feeling you would be much happier if NT was behind by multiple td's? -

Do we start the who will the next head coach will be now?
GrandGreen replied to southsideguy's topic in Mean Green Football
If your point is that college football coaches are paid too much, than I agree. If you are really in demand, corporate executives do get contracts. Most also get bonuses whether it is deserved or not. Unfortunately, no matter how you perform your job, there is no clear cut rating like a win-loss record to rate performance. -
Soccer Extends Unbeaten Streak To Seven In Row
GrandGreen replied to GrandGreen's topic in Mean Green Athletics
Well, aren't you all rainbows and unicorns. Again, what has this to do with football? I guess you cannot criticize any NT team's performance because the football team lost to Tech. Real logic there. I assume you also believe all D1 conferences are equivalent. SEC, WAC, AAC, etc. -

How would I know that today or four days ago? NT should beat Wyoming, no guarantee; but if I had your confidence I would put a big bet on the visitors. -

Expressing disappointment in the soccer team's performance is what you term "crapping on the Soccer ladies'"? By the way it has absolutely nothing to do with the football team's performance. -
This has got to be one of the stupidest headlines used on the official site that I have seen. What an accomplishment, tying a lower tier team that NT had a 6-0 all-time record against.

That would be about the only thing that would make me give up NT football fandom. -
Has NT ever lost a game, were the consensus from this board is not to fire someone or everyone? Answer, probably only when playing P4 teams were the score was closer than predicted. Morris is going to be here at least to the end of the season, and likely to be here next year. Unless, you have a few million to help buy out a contract; then you are just venting. NT is 2-1 which is slightly better than the projected 1-2. If you thought NT was going to beat Tech in Lubbock than you are definitely an optimist. Tech as I stated earlier on this board, could have scored 100 today. It was an awful beating, but it was one game and changes little about NT's football objectives this year, I really wonder how many of those that complain the most even go to any NT games.
-
What kind of season did you expect last year. 13-0 or 12-1 Obviously, Morris after one year at 5-7 should have been fired, I am sure would have contributed to the buyout.
-
Not much, however why do you think firing a coach after 3 games makes any sense. I am sure you can name a bunch of established coaches that would want to work at a school that fires a 2-1 coach in September.
