What’s wrong is that around the time of the Wyoming game, even with the Tech embarrassment, people thought “They’re 2-1, maybe the defense just looked bad against a superior Big XII team.” Yesterday you saw the result of people realizing “nope, they genuinely cannot tackle and refuse to alter their scheme against what should be comparable talent” We will not beat Army. And, no, we won’t beat UTSA in their season Super Bowl. A sparse crowd will see us beat East Carolina to get to 6 wins…then people will swear the season was “a success” when we beat a horrible Temple squad…then we’ll all come crashing back down when we get rocked in a bowl game.

This is consecutive weeks when our uniforms were green and white. I don’t have near the visceral response to black jerseys that some others do, but I really love that we’re sticking to the basics.

I’d buy this excuse if you could answer these questions for me. - At what point during that game did you feel that Memphis’ quarterback was under consistent pressure, hurried, or thrown off his game? - At what point during that game did you think to yourself, “Our defense has taken Memphis’ offense out of what they want to do”? - At what point during that game did you think, “We just took the lead again and I think this defense will hold the lead”? You cannot HONESTLY say that any of these questions can be answered in a way that favors North Texas. You CAN though insert North Texas everywhere you see Memphis in the above questions and have a different answer to the questions.

Save all that “But we’re 5-2, anyone would have taken that at the beginning of the season” BS. Everyone would have taken 5-2 because of how piss poor the defense was last year. Well, this team isn’t 6-1 because that defense is STILL piss poor. We scored 44 points…FORTY FOUR…and lost by 8! There is no f’in silver lining around that 💩

How would you like to play for this offense? The only thing you have to do to win is score a touchdown on every single possession.

Is it within 15 days of a holiday? Is another team that I have no affiliation with playing at the same time? Is the opponent sexy enough (though I claim to be a fan of North Texas, so this is irrelevant)? Is it too late/early/middle of the day? Is the team winning? If so, are they winning by enough points? If so, is the offense “pretty” enough? Am I currently mad at the athletic department/university about something? Is it too far for me to drive? If not, could I just watch on tv? What does my horoscope/tea leaves/position of the moon say?

He had two, yes TWO, touchdown passes coming into yesterday. He threw three against our secondary that was often not in the same zip code as receivers - We are on the road - We don’t do a little thing called tackling
