Ok, if you could pick a starting 11 on both sides of the ball from North Texas players who have played within the last 5 years (the Sun Belt title years) who would you choose. You have to project all players to their senior years (so if you pick somebody like Ajani Banks you can assume the 3-4 years of experience) and you can't go back further than players from the 2000 season. Now, once you've done this project how your team would fare against this year's schedule. You can assume that they are able to play every down. Points is the more important statistic as it tells you whether you are a complete player or just a "poacher." You'll see a lot of players at every level of soccer competition who have an impressive goals per game average but that number will also match their points per game average. That just means they wait for other people to do the dirty work of getting the ball and working it downfield then screams "pass" so that they can take shots.

Man this has got my pants doing a happy dance. Reaching out to Denton area kids is exactly what we need to be doing. Let's take it one step further though. We could have people on this board contribute money to get local kids to the games. There is no way for this to be a bad thing. Every team we've played the last two years had known who PC and J-Mo were coming in and have gameplanned accordingly...to no avail (unless you're southern miss).

And exactly how many big hits did he take as the third string last year? Plumm I know that the "injury prone" tag is unfair but we're talking about a need position. If we don't have a quarterback with some experience in this offense teams will put 8,9, maybe even 10 in the box on every single play and take their chances...and Dickey will run right at them. You know it as well as I do. We are less than three weeks from LSU then we go on the road for a conference game. Even if you held him out of the LSU game you'd be throwing him into a possible 'must win' game on the road in Smurfboro.

I fear more bad news is on the horizon. The last few years this team has seemed snake bit, which makes the accomplishments all the more impressive but also begs the question of where they could be if every head was screwed on straight.

I and some of the "older" Talons have known that chant for years. Austin Talon found it one day and we used to yell it at games...the facial expressions of those around us were priceless.

Plumm I appreciate your defending the kid, and you are right we have no control over these things, but we're not talking just one or two injuries. He came in to NT with several injuries in high school, then hurts a shoulder which keeps him out of the spring, then hurts his head, THEN hurts his hamstring. If you're not worried about his durability then you must at least be concerned about the lack of continuous reps at the position.

We were 65 last year, let's hope for a jump up.
