  1. And we are one of them. They won't beat Rice, Tulane or UTEP but they will beat us?
  2. Pictured here is the 2005 SMU homecoming...announced attendance, 38,000
  3. They're predicting a 24-21 game or something to that effect. This is the same froggy team that failed to go to a bowl last year, lost to S. Florida and Tulane at home, got blown out by Texas Tech and UAB and needed OT to beat Northwestern.
  4. How many more yards does Patrick need to break Ja'Quay's school rushing yards record? I know he can't be too incredibly far off...or can he? According to the athletics website he had 2,840 yards through his first three years (not counting any he got last season before injury). Ja'Quay is shown to have over 3,100 for his career. So, could be third or fourth game of the season?
  5. I have an autographed Joe Greene Steelers jersey and a mini helmet from his era that is autographed as welll...I'd pay a pretty penny to have him sign my NT replica jersey from when he played. I also have the game ball from the 2001 game at Idaho (clinched the bowl for the first time in 40-some years) signed by the team.
  6. I've not seen any that are tough as far as atmosphere because I've not been in a full Sun Belt stadium. If I had to pick though, assuming a capacity crowd, I'd guess: 1)Cajun Stadium 2)Troy 3)Floyd Casey Stadium I won't count the F_U schools because they don't have on-campus fields.
  7. Where would you rank the "sea of red" in Lincoln then?
  8. Anyone notice the guy third from the left took the time to roll up the legs of his khakis before storming the field?
  9. Buy or sell, Average attendance for 2005 seasonwill meet or exceed 19,000? Buy. Tulsa at Fouts and a national tv game against a team that will be in the conference race puts us at 19,500 for the year. Buy or sell, UNT will win 3 ooc games. Sell. We win two. Buy or sell: NT will have two 1,000 yard backs this year.
  10. None of which is confirmed fact yet.
  11. Oh yeah, and OU had the OU line while we had ours.

  13. And, of course, the pathetic "If Jamario was good he'd be at a Big XII school" argument has been brought out.
  14. I really enjoy the burgers and fries at Cool Bean's.

  16. http://goblueraiders.com/?go=story&doc=163 http://www.ragincajuns.com/Football/cajun_field.htm I have to wonder if maybe some of the teams that we can't get to Fouts would come to either of these places? Something tells me they would. We are the best football program in the conference but play in one of the worst houses.
  17. Sorry, I'm having trouble joining you on your logic leap.
  18. And here we are with people complaining about having to give a measly $250 to sit in section E. Hmmm, we need $20,000,000 to start a new stadium and there are issues with paying our bargain basement ticket prices? You do the math. <_<

  20. Cougar McBride hands down.
  21. If this story is true she should be fired. For a university in our position every penny is a blessing. If, on the other hand, this isn't true and I'm slamming Mandy unnecessarily my apologies.
  22. Wrong! The Texas legislature has yet to rescind the 10% rule, in fact this last session it was to be discussed and never was. Admissions counselors at state schools all over Texas are still complaining because of the inability to recruit "well-rounded" students because they have to take all of the 10%'ers. And take a look at the median SAT and ACT scores for the state's public universities. Perhaps then you'll stop being a Big XII apoligist.
  23. Hey, where I'm moving my seats to I get to compete with the guy who tells us to sit down while wearing his noise reducing earmuffs.
  24. Silver is exactly right. It's the herd mentality. It takes more courage to wear your NT clothing and brag about the big things NT is doing than to be an aTm or UT fan. Why? You don't have a whole gang of lemmings to back you up. Next time you see someone in a UT or aTm hat or t-shirt ask them what year they graduated. I guarantee you 9 out of 10 people will say "I never went there but they're my favorite." It's not just football success and it's definitely not academics. It's being a part of the "crowd" that appeals to people. Ask that same person what programs at UT or aTm are nationally ranked and they'll probably be honest and say "I don't even know, I just think they're cool." Stand Up, don't be disheartened. You are among the few with your own devotions, your own convictions and the ability to make your own decisions.
