Other teams playing at 11:00a that day: Ohio State Navy and Notre Dane Ole Miss and Oklahoma Now, I am sure someone is about to chime in with “yeah, but those programs are different and can draw crowds at any time of day.” Yes, they are different…because they have fans whose only question is “Is my team playing?” and not the laundry list of asinine questions we keep asking: Is it too hot/cold? Is it within 15 days of a holiday? Is another team that I have no affiliation with playing at the same time? Is the opponent sexy enough (though I claim to be a fan of North Texas, so this is irrelevant)? Is it too late/early/middle of the day? Is the team winning? If so, are they winning by enough points? If so, is the offense “pretty” enough? Am I currently mad at the athletic department/university about something? Is it too far for me to drive? If not, could I just watch on tv? What does my horoscope/tea leaves/position of the moon say?

How will we ever beat the dozens of people who have the SMU game circled on their schedule??

That’s really not an unreasonable spread. We managed to find a way to win last night, but there are still some facts that can’t be denied - Memphis is better than any team we’ve faced (excluding TTU) - We still can’t run the football early in games - We made a VERY average quarterback look like a world beater. He had two, yes TWO, touchdown passes coming into yesterday. He threw three against our secondary that was often not in the same zip code as receivers - We are on the road - We don’t do a little thing called tackling

The part you are conveniently leaving out is if they don’t know civil rights or the penal code, I call a press conference to give my resignation speech. I love where this thread is going. As a Police Chief, I simply cannot wait to give a press conference where I say the following: ”Ultimately, it’s not my fault. This was the game plan the whole time…we were employing the Rocky 4 strategy. We let them punch us in the face for 3.5 quarters to wear them down…then BOOM! 💥

After this game they will talk about how efficient and effective FAU’s quarterback was. Don’t believe the hype…he was terrible coming into this game and will go back to being horrible next week.
