It must be nice to forget that just two decades ago your coaches were working out of double wides. -

Breaking: North Texas lands QB Cash McCollum

I still remember the day I asked my wife to marry me. Immediately after she said yes, my friends said “I’m gonna hold off on the congratulations until I know who her other offers were.”- 79 replies

Those that think the PAC-12 is too high, take a look at the final 2023 rankings. Obviously the SEC had a lot of the top 10 teams, as did the Big 10. But aside from them, you had TCU at 2 with only Kansas State and Texas (with Texas barely in at 25) in the top 25 and you had multiple Pac 12 teams in those rankings. when USC and UCLA leave that will obviously change things, but for now they are there and factor into the rankings.

Why in the world would you get rid of "North Texas" and stick with UNT?

How many times must I say this? SMU is in the center of a city of 1.3 MILLION people. Alumni base isn’t what is driving the attendance of football programs. Does anyone think 100,000 people in Tennessee’s stadium have a degree from there? Or that Clemson’s stadium is filled with Clemson grads? You think all those burnt orange clad folks actually have a Texas degree (or any degree)? Or that even Boise State hosts thousands and thousands of alumni on Saturdays? Nope, they draw from the community around them and a whole lot of bandwagoners. We should have better attendance, no doubt. But SMU can’t draw flies when hundreds of thousands of folks could make a VERY short drive to their stadium. Hell, they even have a DART train that will drop people off across the street (technically highway). And yet still they struggle.

I just wish I was in the room for the media rights discussions. Any broadcast/internet representative: "Your conference just lost USC and UCLA, and therefore the Los Angeles market" Pac12: "Yeah, but we're bringing in SMU and they have the Dallas market" Any broadcast/internet representative: "Who?" Pac12: "SMU...you know, Southern Methodist University" Any broadcast/internet representative: "So you're replacing Southern Cal with Southern Meth?" Pac12: "Yeah, they bring the Dallas market" Any broadcast/internet representative: "They don't even bring the University Park market" Pac12: "Look, we're desperate here" Any broadcast/internet representative: "Clearly"

I don’t know about the homecoming parade being in Robson, but I have always wondered why North Texas athletics doesn’t come to my neighborhood. Every time Harvest has an event, there is a minimum of 300 to 500 kids there with their parents. Seems like a great time to sell a football ticket to someone. Hell, I’ve even help man the booth.

Has Recruiting Improved Under Morris? Yes
emmitt01 replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Shhhh, don't be bringing logic into this. Definitely don't mention that there are 3 North Texas commits in this class ranked higher by 24/7 sports than UTSA's highest rated commit. -
I think the question of who starts is far less important than the question of how many players Hodge trusts to put into a rotation

Of course you can. Everyone knows commits don’t mean what they used to back in the good ol’ days when 18 year olds never changed their minds.

Has Recruiting Improved Under Morris? Yes

By the logic employed by some in this thread, we have the nation's #1 high school recruiting class. You could argue that Georgia, or USC, or Alabama is recruiting better, but ThEy HaVeN't SiGnEd AnYoNe YeT. -
I love that this is ANOTHER kid who comes from a winning program. Vandegrift played for a state title last year and finished 14-2 in 6A, so this isn’t a kid who put up numbers against nobody.
