  1. AAC - 7M per school MWC - 4M per school
  2. Big XII…not a chance PAC12…nope ACC…doesn’t look promising But don’t worry, there was always a grander plan at work that will show everyone just how relevant and desirable “Dallas’ team” is
  3. If we spent $200M to join a league that shared zero revenue for 5-7 years…knowing full well it will be cannibalized by other leagues before that 5-7 years is up…just so we could say “look at us” while being laughed at by EVERYONE, I would want our AD fired immediately. Please stop pretending you are here to do anything more than fanboy SMU under the guise of being a “realistic” North Texas fan. It’s blatantly transparent and sad.
  4. They're just happy not to house their coaches in double-wides anymore.
  5. So, it’s settled. Don’t invite SMU to the conference, just pay them to rent out Ford Field six times a year. The ACC saves millions and literally NOBODY will miss seeing their favorite team.
  6. I’d like it known, I will do whatever possible to be Supernan. I figure I should be flying and bulletproof by November at the latest.
  7. Word is they’ve also thrown out the following to entice the ACC: - All games declared “road” games for SMU since the opposing teams’ fans will be the only ones in attendance anyway - SMU administrators will only speak when spoken to during meetings
  8. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/38152204/acc-begin-discussing-cal-stanford-additions
  9. I think this SMU guy is right. Aresco should start by dropping any school who hasn’t won a conference title in football in the past 38 years.
  10. But don't they know SMU and Tulane might be in the PAC soon??! I can't believe they'd risk losing the chance to sell all 300 of those tickets.
  11. Which is precisely why I snicker when I hear all of this “The remaining PAC teams will just raid the AAC and MWC” talk. So now AAC and MWC teams want to add west coast travel to their non-revenue sports just to be left out in the cold anyway?
  12. Where is your guarantee that this “autonomy” conference makes more than the MWC? Since when have TV providers been clamoring for Cal and Oregon State content?
  13. And how do Cal, Oregon State, and Washington State fund their programs on a television deal that won’t be anywhere close to what they are accustomed to? ESPN isn’t paying a lot to televise the four least desirable PAC teams and a bunch of MWC teams (if they were willing to pay a premium for MWC content, they’d be doing it already). And how likely are MWC schools to jump at what won’t be traditional PAC level money knowing any of the traditional PAC schools will bolt the second a real P5 (or is it P3 now?) offer comes?
  14. One analysis of this whole thing: https://collegefootballnews.com/cfn/college-football-expansion-realignment-whats-next-for-the-pac-12
  15. Those that expect the remaining 4 PAC teams to just grab MWC and AAC teams and soldier on, keep a few things in mind. 1) The PAC owes Comcast a LOT of money 2) MWC teams have a substantial buyout to leave that conference, and… 3) Teams in the PAC won’t be getting near the money they used to get (that affects offsetting #2) 4) Cal, Stanford, Washington State and Oregon State are used to operating on a budget that included $30M in television rights payouts (see #3 again)
  16. Let’s be real, you can talk television deals and money all you want, but this is how it truly went down. George Kliavkof: “We have an underwhelming streaming offer from Apple TV and we’ll struggle to make the money the Big12 and Big10 make…and won’t even approach SEC money. Is everyone still with me??!” Pac12 Teams: George Kliavkof: “Great! Now we can move forward with expansion…first on the list is SMU…” Pac12 Teams:
  17. So, because Alabama has chosen to play Chattanooga and Mercer in the next two years, what aspersions should we cast their way? They have, after all, "chosen to play" those programs.
  18. Setting the bar pretty low there. If we played The University of Cairo, they would bring more fans than SMU.
  19. The problem was the media deal made up almost exclusively of a streaming platform. They were worried they couldn’t get enough subscribers to watch Oregon, Utah or Arizona…you really think they’ll have a better subscriber numbers with SMU or Tulane?
  20. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/38134021/big-ten-set-send-invites-oregon-washington-sources-say Seems pretty official now. I don’t see how Arizona, Arizona State or Utah in good conscience stay in what they know is a house on fire 🔥 I’m sorry, if I’m a major donor of any of the remaining PAC schools and you tell me your response to losing USC, UCLA, Colorado, Oregon and Washington is….wait for it…”Dallas’ Team” I am not impressed
  21. I’d be ok with it; no San Antonio Community College
  22. Hey coach, word is the Big 10 wants Washington State: “F the PAC12…this thing has been around waaaay too long already!”
  23. SMU was in the Southwest Conference…it is dead SMU was in the WAC….it is dead SMU was trying to go to the Pac12….
  24. The Big 10 and Big 12 looking at the Pac12 right now: SMU during all of this:
