  1. I believe that would have been 4 helmet logo changes ago. The logo, as best as I recall, had a "son of worm"-ish looking eagle and in the center of it was NT in a circle. Maybe some kind soul out there could provide a picture?
  2. Sounds like we're coming close to going back to the Dennis Parker/Mitch Maher era helmet.
  3. Too many parents who think it impossible that their little darlings could ever do anything wrong.
  4. I think SilverEagle was talking primarily about the attitude Dodge has brought to North Texas football. Hopefully the other will follow.
  5. You might try this site: ShopMeanGreen.com
  6. Okay, I think I get what you're saying. Seven beats out of 2 bars, leaving the last beat.
  7. Exactly. But then again, none of us is the standard for how we should see Christianity.
  8. So the original fight song has different lyrics altogether?
  9. The sad part is, plenty of people come to UNT who love football--love high school football, college, and pro, and never fall in love with North Texas football. THAT needs to change.
  10. I personally think our fight song is the best in the nation (bias acknowledged). I get goosebumps every time I hear it. What was different about the previous fight song?
  11. Au contraire. Some religions may require "blind leaps of faith," but if you will read the New Testament, you will see that the Christian religion is firmly based upon evidence.
  12. Think the Hog fans are a little nervous right now? If it goes through this time, it might be good exposure for the Sun Belt. Link Arkansas set to hire South Alabama coach Pelphrey Gary Parrish April 8, 2007 By Gary Parrish CBS SportsLine.com Senior Writer South Alabama coach John Pelphrey has reached an agreement to be the next coach at Arkansas, CBS SportsLine.com learned Sunday. The development should end a tumultuous search for Stan Heath's replacement that first featured either official or unofficial offers to Billy Gillispie, John Calipari, Bill Self, Tim Floyd and Dana Altman. A press conference is tentatively scheduled for Monday afternoon. Altman took the Arkansas job last week and was formally introduced at a press conference. But less than 24 hours later the Creighton coach opted to return to Omaha while citing family issues, though sources have told CBS SportsLine.com the situation was more complex, specifically that Altman wasn't comfortable with the culture he was inheriting considering two players had recently tested positive for marijuana while another was in serious academic trouble. Pelphrey is a 38-year-old former college star from Kentucky who spent a combined eights years on Billy Donovan's staffs at Marshall and Florida before taking the South Alabama job in 2002-2003. He just completed his fifth season at the school, leading the Jaguars to a 20-12 record and regular season Sun Belt title, though they were upset in the league tournament and consequently relegated to the NIT. Arkansas should return all five starters from an NCAA Tournament team. The star of the group is Patrick Beverley, a 6-foot-1 guard who averaged 13.9 points per game last season and was named the SEC Freshman of the Year.
  13. If founded on a few magic tricks, why were the alleged "magicians" willing to die for their alleged "tricks"? The apostles were given opportunity to deny the faith they promulgated, and refused. The apostle Paul forsook a life of prestige for a life of stonings, shipwreck, and ultimately execution--not for what someone else told him, but for what he claimed to receive personally.
  14. Thanks RG4L. Seems like pretty basic stuff (e.g., staking posters on campus, indoctrinating freshmen with North Texas tradition and pride), but if it all actually came to pass it could make a big improvement in our own self-perception.
  15. Nice! We can really impress the Midshipmen with our class by showing up in those shirts for the game!
  16. When I first saw the T-Shirts, I was not impressed. It just sent the wrong message. I realize there are those who are going to buy and wear these shirts because they do not see it as I, and obviously many others, do. I just have to accept that the message you send with those shirts will be perceived as the message all of us are sending to Navy.
  17. Choosing Georgia Tech over South Carolina is hardly a precedent for choosing Creighton over Arkansas.
  18. I immediately thought of Hank Aaron, because his name has been synonymous with the career home run record about as long as I've been alive. Now, if you would have asked me, "Whose name 1st pops in your head when you hear the term 'baseball dominance,'" I probably would have told you Babe Ruth.
  19. Welcome to the board!
  20. Are you from Mount Pleasant? I used to live there.
  21. Thanks for the update, ETMG!
  22. Apparently the folks at NIT can get you a top-notch shirt printed. Link Hey, NIT: No 'I' in team, but West Virginia has three March 30, 2007 CBS SportsLine.com wire reports CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Ouch! These T-shirts are hardly worthy of the NIT champions. They say "West Virgina." That's right, no "i" before the "a." The West Virginia Mountaineers wore them anyway after their 78-73 victory over Clemson on Thursday night, their first NIT title in 65 years. WVU sports information director Shelly Poe said the NIT printed the shirts. Calls to tournament officials were not immediately returned Friday. West Virginia coach John Beilein was heading to the Final Four in Atlanta on Friday and could not be reached for comment.
