  1. Makes you wonder if anything, including winning, can ever change people's perception of North Texas football.
  2. I guess I missed the interview. I did hear the quote from Mack Brown that Todd Dodge and UNT were a "perfect fit"--perhaps he's implying TD should stay at UNT instead of taking away his job in a few years. Any highlights from the interview?
  3. What exactly does he mean by that? A quarterback who will get the offense lined up and the play off quickly?
  4. Sounds like a good idea if it doesn't break NCAA regs. But I would be surprised if it didn't.
  5. I picked Jordan because of his leadership and his ability to make everyone around him light years better.
  6. Couldn't find stats, but the Waco paper had Jamison on the Central Texas top 25 a few notches ahead of B.J. Lewis. 7. Hope all goes well with you, your wife, and child. We are also expecting our first girl (3rd child) in the next 3 weeks. Let us know how things go!
  8. That is a big part of why a new coach was needed. And from these quotes, it sounds like Shannon may be just what Miami needs--a Butch Davis no-nonsense type guy.
  9. To see who will back up Vizza?
  10. By the way, what was the final result on that other team's poll?
  11. Maybe it shouldn't be surprising, but I would have thought he had a shot at a major program if he wanted it. April 17, 2007 By Gary Parrish CBS SportsLine.com Senior Writer Tell Gary your opinion! Link to CBS Sportsline story South Alabama to hire Arrow Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Ronnie Arrow has reached an agreement to become South Alabama's next basketball coach, a source has told CBS SportsLine.com. A news conference to announce the development could come as early as Tuesday. It's doubtful Arrow will need a tour of the campus considering he coached South Alabama from 1988-'95. He was 114-93 in seven seasons at USA before being fired early in the 1994-95 season. Arrow spent the past seven years at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, where he compiled a 108-84 record that included a Southland Conference title and trip to the NCAA Tournament this past season. The Islanders finished 26-7 and nearly upset Wisconsin in the first round. Arrow replaces John Pelphrey, who left last week to take over at Arkansas. The only other serious candidates were Sam Houston State's Bob Marlin, Alabama assistant Philip Pearson and Charlotte's Bobby Lutz. Lutz rejected an offer over the weekend.
  12. SMU--we need to show last year wasn't a fluke.
  13. The highest ever? I was not aware of that.
  14. Not sure what your line of work is, but it seems to give you a unique perspective.
  15. Jonas and Buckles? My bad--I read what you had said wrong.
  16. Absolutely. Taking a pass interference penalty over getting beat on the deep ball is smart play. Unsportsmanlike conduct is moronic.
  17. I think you are confusing Son of Worm with the flying worm. If you go to the official UNT athletic website, it is plastered with Son of Worm.
  18. I have never heard of this before. A bowl making arrangements with a particular team (not conference) before the season even starts?
  19. The "Son of Worm," as I understand it. The current eagle, which some feel bears a striking resemblance to the "flying worm" of the Hayden Fry era.
  20. Notice how she explained her disagreement with the term "tour," but the interviewer kept calling it that over and over? Kind of like Jim Rome calling Jim Everett "Chris."
  21. That's the one--thanks! I really don't think it's a bad design. Maybe update it with the newer eagle and use a more distinct "NT."
  22. But we're not likely to get into a better conference until we increase school pride and keep more students in Denton on game days.
