  1. Thanks again, guys. Much appreciated.
  2. Does the Goldfields' offer still stand?
  3. It's more of a condescending disdain than a passionate loathing.
  4. Dad said he saw it on the news in El Paso.
  5. New UNT logo, with accompanying slogan, "You've Got Another Thing Comin'"
  6. Vizza is not an early commit--he signed his LOI last February, and will be with the team this fall--but your point regarding Riley and the others is duly noted.
  7. As far as stats? Riley 2006 (Jr.) Rushing Yds - 1,400 Rushing TDs - 14 Passing Yds - 4,228 Passing TDs - 54 Vizza 2005 (Jr.) Rushing - Att 98 Yds 687 TDs 6 Passing - Att 215 Compl 127 Yds 2,062 TDs 17 2006 (Sr.) Rushing - Att 86 Yds 526 TDs 5 Passing - Att 315 Compl 192 Yds 2,924 TDs 35
  8. Do you think TMac was agreeing with DD, or poking fun at DD's pessimistic view of UNT athletics?
  9. What prompted this question?
  10. Or would that be Greene Booger Stadium?
  11. Competitors are not afraid of competition. It just gets their juices flowing. Bringing Riley aboard may just bring out the best in Vizza.
  12. That, my friend, is something Todd Dodge knows a little something about. Nobody knew whether he could recruit - that was the missing puzzle piece. He is showing that he can. Now, he just needs to put that together with what he already knows how to do as well as anyone - win.
  13. Don't get my hopes up like that.
  14. Maybe a sign of the future of North Texas football?
  15. Isn't Vizza already at UNT, enrolled in summer classes on scholarship? One reason I think he stays. Even more significant, Vizza strikes me as a young man with confidence. TD is not going to give Riley the starting nod because he is his son--if Vizza earns the starting job, it's his. If Vizza knows this and has confidence in his own ability, he is going to stick with it.
  16. I chose 2 DTs. I know these are different times, but if you shut down and explode the middle, you wreak havoc with offensive game plans and create opportunities for the DEs and outside LBs. Not to mention opportunities for DBs when the QB is rushing his throws for fear of what he sees barreling right at him.
  17. Great post, but maybe you could elaborate on why you believe Vizza would get the nod if Meager outperforms him? More upside?
  18. I believe you are correct--that was his plan at UT, and I imagine it will be his plan at UNT. Remember, he was in attendance at several of the spring practices--he saw something he wanted to be a part of, moreso than what he saw in his junior day at UT.
  19. Check out some of the comments at DMN online: Link
  20. Assuming Vizza looks like he will be a star performer, I definitely agree with red-shirting RD (Also assuming RD is actually coming here - way too much assuming going on in this post). That would create a great 1-2 punch at QB in 2009-10, and place the offense securely in RD's hands for two years with TD's recruits now thoroughly in place as starters.
  21. Interesting find. Really makes Kirby Freeman out to be "the man." He may well be the starter at Miami this year.
  22. Catching this thread a little late, but let me say that, if this goes through, this is awesome, incredible, unbelievable news in every way possible for the North Texas Mean Green! In my opinion, this is the guy we want! And I'm not worried a bit about allegations of nepotism--TD is going to do what it takes to win, and Riley will appreciate every decision he makes to win, whether it includes him or not.
  23. I had seen this a couple of weeks ago. I thought it looked pretty good for the most part, but the pinstriping around the "NT" and the green on the brim looks like that wretched toothpaste green.
