  1. I seem to recall 1600 as being a perfect score on the SAT. What's a perfect score now?
  2. Probably will not be a game that UCF fans will want to remember as the first game in their new stadium. The 'Horns will crush them.
  3. This is how I have always understood it. Nebraska fans can yell out "Go Huskers" or "Go Big Red" without befuddling others in attendance. I don't think if someone yells out, "Go Eagles," people will think an Argyle fan must be in the stands.
  4. I have never been able to laugh at groin shots. When I see it, it's like I feel it, and I don't laugh when I feel it.
  5. I would say that's a bargain for the Dolphins. A 5th-round pick for, at the least, a fairly reliable veteran backup quarterback, and no other sure things at QB on the roster.
  6. Link to ESPN story I don't imagine he's going to be able to keep this cat in the bag long.
  7. Hope all goes well, ED. It's a special time--we just had our first daughter (3rd child) a few weeks ago. I hope your daughter is half as cute as ours.
  8. What you said makes sense, but that last sentence makes me cringe.
  9. Just a note to readers of this thread--I went back and read my posts in this thread, and saw why Green Means Go thought I was trying to cast doubt on his story. My first one was just me being a smart aleck. I was not trying to imply that it was just as likely as the Hayden Fry/SMU story. In the second I was just seeing what else the Internet had to say about this good story. I probably left the wrong impression with others than Green Means Go as well--I will try not to leave the wrong impression in the future.
  10. That was out of line. I did not doubt a word of your post, I just went looking for more information on it because I thought it was an interesting story.
  11. I found a little something about that. It leaves off the part of Hayden Fry and the game against Michigan. Link
  12. . . . And in return for the favor, SMU named their football stadium "Ford Stadium."
  13. We've had a few subpar recruiting years. I would be quite happy with a .500 season (especially if it includes a win against SMU), and thrilled with a winning season. Give TD's recruits (especially next year's and following) time to mature, and in a few years competing for the Sun Belt title might only be the tip of the iceberg.
  14. Great post all around. I especially appreciate hearing time and again how the football program is being filled with and surrounded by men with leadership and class. That to me bodes very well for the future.
  15. Sounds like a young man with character and leadership ability, kind of like a Justin Padron. And the kind you want on your team.
  16. I don't think anybody has a problem with Middle Tennessee's desire to move to C-USA. More power to 'em if they do. But condescending comments like and do grate on the nerves somewhat.
  17. Apparently you either did not understand the question, or intended to respond to a different post than the one you quoted. OOC stands for out-of-conference.
  18. Not much information, but it does not sound good. From Drudge Report: SCARE IN OUTFIELD: CINCI'S FREEL IN FULL-SPEED CENTERFIELD COLLISION... MOTIONLESS, TAKEN TO HOSPITAL IN AMBULANCE AFTER 13 MINUTE GAME DELAY Link to Freel player page
  19. I was responding to your comment that insinuated that South Florida should draw more to a game in Denton, Texas than Baylor should. Baylor is a Big XII team, former SWC team, and thus well-known as a football team in Texas. South Florida did not even begin to play football until 1997. That's just 10 years ago.
  20. People don't want to come see a no-name team that has a good chance of whupping their team--they want to come see a big name team that their team has a good chance of whupping up on.
  21. I think Nessie takes 'em both. Rips that goofy horn out of the unicorn's head and sticks it in those big feet so they're stuck to the ground, then just pummels both of them.
