As has been made clear, because of discipline problems. Perhaps not, but you don't give a player a free pass to do whatever he wants because he can make an interception. Are you referring to a certain poster whose name rhymes with "Uh, Make Bonnie Flinch"? Oh, wait, there's more to come. That's because none of us knew why. As far as talent, he probably should have been starting the whole time. But if he is a discipline problem, he needs to sit. Yes, there is a learning curve. But it is for players who have to learn what discipline is, a trait that was undermined by some, though probably not all, of the previous staff.

I meant, what if a radio talk show host had said, "The North Texas players are all from the 'hood." The point I am making is that the team would not have appreciated that any more than the Rutgers basketball ladies enjoyed being called a bunch of "nappy-headed hos."

Any coach will address sideline conduct issues. It's not a matter of coaching, it's a matter of correcting a matter that he felt needed to be corrected.

I really didn't know what to expect. All I can say is that I am disappointed in how this season has gone, but it doesn't diminish my hope for the future.

Agreed. The allegation alone could be enough to keep recruits away. I will say that the reason cited in this article for Dominique's claim is laughable. But if there is something greater underlying it that could even cause a perception that our coaching staff is racist, our program could be toast. On another note, does this mean we've lost another DB?

I was never really a fan of Boyz II Men (sp?), but I was always under the impression they were a little more talented than that.

Ummm, TFLF, A coach doesn't just sit back in his office like Warren Buffett and watch his win count go up. It takes a plan to win games. A plan requires small goals to achieve the larger objective. And, as pointed out, those small goals for which individual players are responsible can pinpoint areas in need of improvement to achieve that larger objective--a win.

To be honest, at this point record doesn't mean all that much. 4-8, although containing twice as many wins, would not feel a whole lot better than 2-10. What I hope and expect to see through the rest of the season is marked improvement, remaining competitive in each game, and the players giving all they have. If I can see those things, I can at least find a measure of hope in the team regardless of record.
