  1. You can watch the games online--it looks pretty good too. Click here.
  2. This would be a new low. Link to story
  3. What makes you say that he would? Was he offered the job at UNT?
  4. Interesting how he singularly credits the coaches for their schedules. I thought that was primarily the work of the AD.
  5. I'll second that--couldn't have said it better.
  6. There used to be a second forum in the "VIP" section. Not much was ever posted in it, but maybe that could be resurrected for topics not pertaining to recruiting yet not appropriate for the general (especially non-UNT) public.
  7. I don't see any way an ASU team that will be breaking in an all new secondary next year beats Southern Miss.
  8. What he said. I'm a little nervous about our defense, but overall it simply has to improve from last year. I think our offense should improve slightly with a year of Dodgeball under our belts with experience returning. Even slight improvement gets us several wins that slipped away from us (e.g., SMU, FAU, Navy, ASU). As far as best to worst, I would guess: 1. Troy 2. FAU 3. NT 4. MTSU 5. La-Mo 6. La-La 7. FIU 8. ASU
  9. Unless they shock everybody and have a really good team next year, I don't think ASU brings more than a handful to the game--on either date.
  10. Well, I guess I gave UCF way too much credit for their stadium. It sounds like they cut corners at every opportunity. Let me then restate, I don't want our BOR/administration to follow the way of UCF, but I want them to insist on excellence!
  11. Whether it happens or not remains to be seen--but yes, this is what has been announced. Link to the above post
  12. I was out at Orlando last week, in the same neighborhood as UCF. I was speaking with a UCF student, and commended the school on their new stadium. He had the exact same attitude as the majority of UNT students--that it was a waste of money--and left me with the impression that many of his fellow students felt just like he did. And he struck me as a fairly conservative fellow, the kind that usually gets behind athletics. So they undoubtedly face many of the same hurdles that UNT faces--a student body largely apathetic to athletics, a "commuter school" image, etc. Yet they apparently have something to overcome those hurdles that we do not--persons in higher-up positions who have the courage to impose excellence upon their university. But after all, isn't that what those governing institutions of higher learning are supposed to do?
  13. I for one hope it is Thanksgiving weekend. It could give me my first opportunity to get back to Fouts for a home game in several years.
  14. Yes, those three are in, as is Ray Renfro, and probably others I have missed. Here is the link to the list of inductees. Unfortunately, you cannot look them up by school attended.
  15. If Meager were to win the starting QB job this year (highly unlikely, IMO), I don't believe it would affect the Vizza/Riley situation too much this year, because it's probably best if Riley can redshirt regardless. However, next year would be a different story. Would Vizza come back under such circumstances? Instead of Riley's being groomed in as the heir apparent, Riley would be battling against a QB who was not the incumbent starter. Riley's extra two years of eligibility over Vizza at that point would put Vizza in the position Meager was in this past year, or worse. That really doesn't answer your question, "how would you handle Vizza/Riley the next couple years?" (assuming Meager wins the starting position). I guess I'd say my answer is, I'm not sure there will be a Vizza/Riley the next couple years if Meager were to win the starting position.
  16. Added to my favorites. Thank you kindly.
  17. I guess that mascot is somewhat of a throwback. I don't have a problem with making merchandise available with past branding on it--let's remember where we've been.
  18. Close enough. Well, how about Darrell K. Royal? Played at OU, became the most reknowned UT coach.
  19. One of our biggest position battles will be for starter at DE? As long as academics are not a problem, it will be Gilmore and Horton at the ends.
  20. Bo Schembechler (Ohio State grad) comes to mind.
