  1. Folks, I read that column very differently. I think Dr. B mentions all those other things to show that UNT is not going to let down in other areas because we build a stadium. But the column strikes me as a call to action to get the stadium done.
  2. Did you actually look at the ABC news link? It's not an editorial targeted to women, and it is being broadcast by several similar undisputedly "news outlets."
  3. I don't believe Kram was referring to protesters in general, but to the violent and destructive nuts the article talks about.
  4. It's been all over the news. I don't know of any of the standard Democratic news outlets or leaders who have come right out and said, "She shouldn't be vice-president because she has a baby with Down's Syndrome." ABC News New York Times
  5. Actually, the quote was "I'm talking 'umbrella-ain't-going-to-help-you' rain." The man who said it insisted it was a joke, and the folks at Focus on the Family quickly removed it from the video.
  6. They're telling us 6-8" up here in the Ozarks.
  7. Writeup Game Notes
  8. The QB must have just decided to lie down every time he saw him coming! EDIT: No offense, but are you sure that's accurate? Wikipedia is by no means perfect, but it says quite differently.
  9. Jags' Collier in life-threatening situation after being shot Sep. 2, 2008 CBSSports.com wire reports JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Richard Collier was shot and critically wounded outside an apartment building early Tuesday as he and a former Jacksonville teammate waited for two women they had met at a nightclub, police said. Collier, 26, and former Jaguars defensive end Kenneth Pettway were waiting in a Cadillac Escalade when a gunman fired into the vehicle, said Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesman Ken Jefferson. Collier was shot several times, but it wasn't clear where he was hit. Collier was in critical condition at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, a nursing supervisor said early Tuesday. Later, spokesman Chris Turner said the hospital was no longer giving updates on Collier's condition. There are a variety of reasons that can happen, such as a request by relatives. Wayne Weaver, owner of the Jaguars, said in a statement released by the team: "We're shocked and deeply saddened by this morning's news about Richard Collier. We have been informed that Richard has had surgery and he's in critical but stable condition. The entire Jaguars family is praying for Richard and his family at this time." The motive behind the attack was unknown, and the sheriff's office was investigating. Pettway, who was released in final cuts Saturday, was not injured. The shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. in a middle- to upper middle-class neighborhood just west of downtown Jacksonville and blocks from the St. Johns River. The players had gone to the apartment complex so the women could drop off their car, authorities said. The women, who appeared to be in their 20s, were wearing nightclub dresses when they were escorted by police back to the complex midmorning Tuesday, but they declined comment. Jaguars spokesman Dan Edwards declined comment at the hospital. The team planned to release a statement later in the day. Click to read the rest of the story
  10. Welcome to the board--wish I could be there to meet you at Tulsa, but I don't think I'll be able to make it to Fouts until Arky State. Enjoy it!
  11. 25,000 on the head.
  12. I'm glad they have at least identified a glaring problem from Saturday's game. It's going to take significant improvement on special teams to compete this coming Saturday.
  13. I am not too down about Saturday's loss, but I just don't see us beating Tulsa. But if I were a betting man, I would put down good money that tulsafanintexas gets whipped pretty soundly before leaving Fouts.
  14. Special teams is where improvement is going to have to come to give us a chance.
  15. Can't argue. Good points.
  16. Kind of a misleading title--the article says the opposite.
  17. No problem at all with them going for it on 4th and long in the 3rd quarter. There was still a lot of football to be played, and they had every right to ensure a win. The end of game stuff, however, was weak. They proved nothing by airing it out for the endzone, and kicking a meaningless field goal. Ron Prince is a young coach, though, so I'll allow him a few years to cultivate some class.
  18. Promises have been made to coaches and recruits that a new stadium is coming. I don't know if I see getting a stadium as helping us improve so much as I see a failure to get a stadium severely crippling our credibility and program for years to come.
  19. Dickey was not competetive in out-of-conference games. When he had his period of success, he won the games he was supposed to win. If you want to win an occasional surprise OOC game at the expense of a couple lesser games, I think the Simon era is the one you want.
  20. I believe this won the closet prediction contest. A lot of close guesses on KSU's score, but no one came close to guessing we would only score 6.
  21. One tackle (assist) for young Troy Franklin out of Celina.
  22. In all fairness, it seems a whole lot of folks in Mean Green Nation are a little edgy tonight.
  23. The draw can be awfully effective when they don't know it's coming--kinda the point of the play.
