  1. I don't love the black jerseys, but that video is great.
  2. Actually, Arkansas State was his first offer. And he also had offers from TCU, Baylor, and other schools before he committed here.
  3. Since Lance Leipold arrived in Lawrence, he has done arguably the best coaching job in all of college football. Since KU's actual starter and far better QB went down with an injury, Bean has been pretty good. But Bean's not in the same stratosphere as, say, Chandler Rogers. Put Rogers in that game against OU, and KU wins by 2 TDs.
  4. In that game, Bean was 15 for 32 with 2 picks and no TDs. 2 attempted 2-point conversions, both incomplete. You and I have a very different bar set for "absolutely balling."
  5. I'm pretty sure if he graduates, he could be eligible as a graduate transfer.
  6. Jason Bean, as in the person this thread is about.
  7. It's still early, but he just might be the best I've ever seen in my 30 years of following the program. It's a shame we only get him 2 years.
  8. We have Chandler Rogers. I appreciate Jason's time here, but I would take Chandler over him every time, and 100 times more for good measure.
  9. I mean, it wasn't even close. What an embarrassment.
  10. He's probably just referring to conference affiliation. And he is certainly correct on that point.
  11. That goes more than double for recruits who don't have those kinds of offers yet.
  12. If he already has those kind of offers now and yet chooses to go to North Texas anyway, why would he be more likely to transfer than someone else who doesn't get those kind of offers until after he gets here?
  13. No, the tweet posted in the O.P. just applied Mac's actions in Philly as a meme for the Rangers' win.
  14. I assume because of Mattress Mac's long ties to the NT football program.
  15. I think it's a steak. As in some BEEF for the trenches.
  16. He passed up on Baylor and TCU to commit to UNT. He certainly is acting much more "flirty" than I would prefer, but he might still end up here.
  17. I don't know how a football team whose stadium capacity is only 14k was permitted to move up to FBS.
  18. Absolutely. All the C-USA teams left behind in the recent realignment to the AAC were all trying to get into the Belt. LaTech fans were very upset their past shunning of ULM and LaLa kept them from an invite. And I guarantee that WKU and MUTS would love to get back in it. C-USA is probably the worst football conference at the present, while the Belt isn't all that far behind the AAC and MWC.
  19. I thought it went without saying that we always pull for SMU's opponent.
  20. Hindsight for sure. If you would have asked me about this trade at the end of last season, I would have told you, "No way!" Even now, I may be a little guilty of making lemonade out of a lemon. But there is no doubt that Rauschenberg's arrival on campus has been a big boost. In spring, the kicking game was a major concern before he arrived. At the same time, Jake was the leading receiver at Baylor's spring game. But without Rauschenberg, we probably lose the game to LaTech.
  21. They were definitely one of the teams I was most excited to be in a conference with when we first joined C-USA. They have fallen far.
  22. I was just watching today's press conference, and there was a lot of praise for our new kicker Noah Rauschenberg (Brett must be working up an article on him, thus all the questions about him). It just got me to thinking how we got him from Baylor and Jake Roberts went to Baylor, so it worked out almost like an NFL-style trade. Normally kickers aren't that high priority, but Coach Morris was talking about how valuable it is to have a kicker you can have confidence in from 55 yards. And I'm not sure how big of a role Jake Roberts would be playing in our new offense anyway. So what say you--good trade?
  23. Are you sure that person wants his identity publicly revealed?
  24. I don't think so. When Coach Morris picked Earle to start, he specifically said, "Chandler didn't do anything wrong." His very clear point was that Earle played so well during camp that he couldn't do anything but give him the starting nod.
