  1. If he graduates, he can transfer without sitting. No idea if he is on schedule to graduate before next season or if he has any interest in transferring.
  2. Not so fast, my friend. https://footballscoop.com/news/mark-stoops-to-stay-at-kentucky-texas-am-coaching-search
  3. I want to apologize for clearly kneejerking on this post. Get that extension inked today!
  4. It definitely put the football program in a tough spot when that all went down. That was the season when a replacement for Mason Fine had to step up, and we were without a QB coach.
  5. By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation. Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor-- and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness. Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be-- That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks--for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation--for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war--for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed--for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted--for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us. and also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions-- to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually--to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed--to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord--To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and us--and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best. Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789. Go: Washington
  6. If this doesn't make you swell up with Mean Green pride, I don't know what will.
  7. If he leaves, that's great news for UTSA. There's a huge buyout on his contract, and they'd be able to take that and upgrade their program.
  8. Hmmm, maybe I'd better back off on the extension talk for now. I'll revisit this thread after next week's game.
  9. Before he jumps to a powerhouse!
  10. The information tells us that he would be the most expensive assistant coach to fire in the entire Group of 5.
  11. James Madison has a remarkable program. Hats off to them. And a ranked basketball team to boot. Now let's see what we can learn from them about how to improve our own athletics.
  12. A&M's Big Money Donors will want a bigger name, or at least someone who has had success as a P5 head coach. Lance Leipold at KU would fit that. Elko at Duke has been on A&M's staff before, and I think he'd have to be the frontrunner unless a bigger name wants to jump at the cash.
  13. Could you explain why? And if that's the case, shouldn't our smaller D-linemen already be perfect for a 3-3-5? And why have we been recruiting generally bigger D-linemen since Morris arrived (recently offered a guy 6'5", 325 lbs.)?
  14. That doesn't make much sense to me. If you're putting one guy to stuff the A gap instead of two, that guy is going to have to be bigger. And since the two ends on either side of him are moving inside with less inside help, it follows that you probably want them a little bigger as well. Obviously, you can slide LBs up or you can blitz to offset that; but if your base look is a 3-man front, don't you need bigger than you would in a 4-man front?
  15. So the correct answer to this thread is "Caponi WILL get another year." Unless one of our posters here wants to step up with a boatload of cash to buy out an assistant coach, "should" is not a consideration at this point in time.
  16. But...why would he? Why would that be expected?
  17. This will make it a little harder for the AAC champ to get a spot in the playoff. If the SEC, B1G, ACC, B12, and one other conference all have conference champions ranked ahead of the AAC champ, we're out of luck.
  18. Remember, "the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night"; i.e., unexpectedly. But it's important to be prepared whenever it does come. Personally, I would recommend the New Testament over a YouTube channel.
  19. Hard to assess Alberding on that. He was always a blocking TE, and was never going to be a major pass-catching target here, either.
  20. If every coaching hire we make ends up being a "big mistake," maybe the problem(s) is something bigger than the coaching hires themselves.
  21. Yeah, 2013 season I meant. 2011 was Coach Mac's first season.
  22. Last bowl victory was in 2011 season.
  23. I'll wait to see how the SMU game goes before I'm bold enough to say that.
  24. We had a great defense in 2011. A couple of years during the Dickey bowl run we had a great defense. A few of the Littrell years were solid, but never great.
