  1. No newsflash for me there, son. I just explained why I don't care about his success at Cal, and you gave me zero reasons why I should.
  2. I just don't care whether he does or not. I don't blame him for taking the bucketload of cash that is surely coming his way. But his actions plainly say he doesn't care about North Texas any more than he cared about ULM, so I'm not sure why I should care about him.
  3. Strange. To a team that offered him last year.
  4. Awards shows in general just never did much for me. Unless a family member, close friend, or UNT player is nominated, my interest is minimal.
  5. Because he was setting the world on fire at ACU, and can go rejoin his brothers in arms and pick up where he left off. Not that tough to understand for someone who has ever played football at any level.
  6. Pretty good looking tape.
  7. True, but expecting a true freshman to come right in and start at QB is a big ask. We need a solid transfer with the ability to start right away, and if Cash can somehow compete and take that spot, more power to him (and us).
  8. Which is why it's amusing that a female soccer player is part of this lawsuit. She'll find herself on the wrong end of that I.O.U.
  9. I'm not sure I can hang my hat on that without Chandler Rogers. I think the offense will be *good*, but it's going to be hard to match 3,383 yards (not even starting the whole season!) and 29 TDs against 5 picks.
  10. He might . . . but didn't he reject Tech's overtures?
  11. I'm not saying you're wrong; I just don't have much recollection of Clemson being a particular predator of G5s.
  12. I don't know what to think about that team. They were all over the place this year. Giving up 77 points to Arkansas State is pretty awful.
  13. Technically speaking. But it happens all the time.
  14. I hope this isn't his way of "hitting the transfer portal." Because I can think of a couple of "P5" conferences that would upgrade their commissioner position by bringing in Aresco.
  15. Thank you, I forgot about him. The larger point still stands.
  16. To Seth's credit, he did what every North Texas coach has tried to do, but no one has been able to do since Hayden Fry--get offered a head coaching gig at a major conference program. And to his further credit, he turned it down due to loyalty. Certainly loyalty to the coaches on his staff, in that he demanded KSU hire them all. And I believe part of it was loyalty to North Texas, who had given him his first opportunity as a head coach.
  17. In other words, he moved on so they moved on.
  18. Assuming there aren't issues between him and others on the team, the coaching staff would be crazy not to want him back. He demands so much attention as a deep threat that he opens opportunities for others all over the field.
  19. It varies from year to year. I would think that over the past 15 years, the SEC has easily been the best conference, at least at the top. I've heard the pundits generally say the PAC 12 is the best this year.
  20. Really, a playoff system based primarily on opinions is a pretty crappy system.
  21. Nah, Texas was ahead of Alabama anyway. They were going to get in. But the committee did not want to leave the playoff without an SEC team.
  22. I guess that means Oregon State and Washington State will be independent next year, for all intents and purposes. In all sports. No conference titles to compete for or win. What a strange state of existence.
  23. Seven at-large spots in the playoff is way too many. An 8-team playoff with the top 7 conference champs plus one at-large would be far better.
  24. A good QB, maybe. But the odds of having another QB on Rogers' level are very, very low.
