I just want a good head coach. A good head coach doesn't emphasize one side of the ball over the other. McCarney post-2013 was a terrible head coach, regardless of emphasis.

Do you really think our problems lie only on one side of the ball? Tech's last 14 points are completely on our offense, a pick 6 and another close enough to being one. Our offense has only had one sustained drive, keeping our defense on the field way more than one would hope. We missed a chip shot field goal. We have issues all over the place.

Not sure why it would be a bigger opportunity than any of the other times we've played Tech. -
I'll take wins for Memphis, FAU, USF, and good ol' UNT.

I agree . . . but the problem is, if other AAC teams join up with them, what will we have left? Regardless, we're far from a slam dunk to get invited.

UNT ATHLETICS: Goal Set for First DATCU Stadium Sellout

Not a bad idea, but I would rather retain the services of Boomer the cannon. -
The question was in the scenario of the ACC imploding. A fairly likely scenario, if not imminent.

That was a big part of their going to ANY conference. But you can go back before the Longhorn Network existed, 30 years ago, when UT and A&M were looking to go their separate ways. A&M was considering the SEC, while UT was looking mostly at the PAC, but also at the Big 10 and ACC, basically anywhere BUT the SEC. Once the SEC became the richest conference, UT's perspective changed.

Everyone said the same thing about UT and the SEC not that long ago. Money talks.
