This is awesome news! A great way to honor a legend like "Mean" Joe Greene. I'm glad this is being done now and not after he's gone. Always a bit sad when those being honored aren't around to enjoy honors like this one. Tip of the cap to those people at North Texas that made this possible!

Barring any surprise uniform for the team, I think the players should get to vote for every combo they wear week to week. I'll admit I definitely have my opinions on what we wear, but the bottom line is let's make sure we have every advantage no matter how small. If the uniform helps to fuel the fire, let the team enjoy what they vote for.

Call me crazy, but I actually like how the bright green color pops on the field. Glad we're touting Mean Green in the endzone lettering too. I'm not saying it's that important overall, but having some new turf is just another thing we can tout to our recruits. Great too see the investment in the program!

I don't live in the North Texas area, but last year I used this handy LINK to request a schedule poster for my office. Someone got back to me right away and before I knew it, one had been mailed my way.

Excited to say I bought some season tickets in 209 just the other day. Called the ticket office and Kyle was very helpful in getting a first-timer setup. From what he said over the phone, 209 has more sold season tickets right now than 204. Looking forward to being part of the fun this year!

First off, I finally have my tickets in hand! Wooo hooo!! I'll be in Section 22, Row 16 Now here's what happened.... After a few days of patiently waiting, I just drove to the FedEx shipping place today and asked if they might have a package for me. Turns out they did, but I would have never received it because the UNT ticket office had given them the wrong delivery address!!!!! Not really sure how that happened because the ticket rep Ben correctly read my address back to me over the phone....but anyway, problem averted. GMG ! BEAT ARMY !

Well Friday came and went and my tickets haven't arrived yet. I believe FedEx does deliver on Saturday, so I'm crossing my fingers that they'll show up tomorrow. If my tickets don't get here in time before the game, anyone know who I should contact?

After seeing that ad in the DRC, I'm curious about who actually put that graphic design together. "First Downs. First Responders. First Bowl Game To Thank First Responders." Alright that's great to see. But shouldn't there be something more clear about the FREE TICKETS available for said First Responders? I'd plaster that on every bit of HOD advertising.

That's a good question. I didn't know so I looked it up. Here's a snippet from the NCAA website. The APR is calculated as follows: Each student-athlete receiving athletically related financial aid earns one point for staying in school and one point for being academically eligible. A team’s total points are divided by points possible and then multiplied by 1,000 to equal the team’s Academic Progress Rate. In addition to a team’s current-year APR, its rolling four-year APR is also used to determine accountability.

Was patiently waiting for my tickets when I received a phone call from the UNT ticket office. Apparently, they couldn't ship to a PO Box...which I should have figured. Either way, Ben with the staff was very helpful and it looks like I'll be getting my tickets tomorrow.

I really do hope the athletic department shells out some cash for a different look, even if it's just a new-helmet. It was cool to see how excited the team got when they were surprised with the chrome domes. Believe me...all I care is that we win. Period. But I get how uniforms can be a cool perk/reward/motivational tool. GO MEAN GREEN! BEAT ARMY!
