  1. Bob Tyler did not give a rats a** about North Texas.
  2. Looks like UA-B team revenged last years 70-14 loss to old Southern Miss last night. UAB ran over Southern Miss from start to finish, but, Southern Miss had 5 regular starters out, costly turnovers, and costly penalities. Regardless of how the game progressed, UAB did win, and that is what counts.
  3. Jesse is a tough DT, but, after the play, I saw Jesse was down and in alot of pain. I could see his injury was bad at that point. A torn ACL is a tough injury. I do not know if surgery to repair the ACL is planned. If surgery is planned, I do hope the surgery is successful, and Jesse can complete the rehab work. I hope Jesse can receive a medical red shirt, and come back strong. Hang in there Jesse, all the MGN will be here when you get back!
  4. I am very glad to see BJ Lewis back. At 6-1, and sprinters speed, BJ is one WR that can make the deep pass go. Mike Outlaw, Jamaal Jackson, and BJ, all have the speed for the deep routes. Darius Carey- well, what can he not do? Keep him in the slot, and outside? Kevin Dickerson was open deep in the muts game several times. I am glad that Forest Rucker is working back into more playing time. I believe he caught 2 passes in the muts game. With his height, and good speed for a big WR/TE, he would be good mis-match against defensive sceondary coverage. I think Rucker at wideout going deep, in certain game situations, will be a great weapon to have. This team has the WR's to stretch the field and make the deep pass game work. The deep pass opprotunity is usually set up by several plays, or if the WR can flat beat the secondary coverage. The QB must be able to set up, and to see the WR as the play develops. To say the offense does not have any deep pass plays or hinting this team cannot make a deep pass is dumb. This deep pass game is there, the team has the receivers to make it successful, and the offense will use the deep pass at the right opportunity. I am not worried about the deep passing game because these plays will happen this season.
  5. Now that my knee has quit jerking, I have been thinking about how opponents DC's and OC's will plan for North Texas in all remaining games this season. Blitz - Blitz - Blitz, seems to be the way to go. Ball St did not blitz very much, Ohio did blitz more, Bama blitzed alot, while the Raiders brought the house on each North Texas offensive play. The Raiders game plan was to take Riley's play making abilities out of the game, with their contant blitz packages. The oppoents DC's will follow this tactic too. From watching Troy, Ark St, and FAU in the past, their defensive package always had heavy blitizing anyway so I would expect even more blitzing from these teams when the NT game comes around. Hurry up offense. The North Texas defense was flat footed during the 1st half. The Raiders saw the NT defense was slow getting to the line of scrimage. The Raiders took advantage of that. On the 51yd catch and run TD, the NT defense was no where ready for the play. From my view point, it looked as if half the team was out of position when the Raiders were at the LOS and snapped the ball. I would expect to see the hurry up offense employed against the NT defense throughout the remaining games this season. Blitz packages can be beat, and the hurry up offense can be handled. Knowing these offensive and defensive schemes will be used against NT, could be a big advantage for NT. Ask Lance Dunbar. His 2 TD runs reminded me of Patrick Cobbs and Jamario Thomas, bursting through the line of scrimage. I would expect more big plays will come NT's way, as the opponets follow and copy each others same blitz package and hurry up tactics.
  6. Well, the Bama reference was on BRZ, has vanished- Now, on ncaabbs.com - http://ncaabbs.com/showthread.php?tid=389087 Post # 6, # 16, and # 20
  7. I have been reading the many postings on BlueRaiderZone.com about North Texas. Under their "Big Blue Skillet" football forum. I will try to find the posting where a muts fans states they are equal too and better than Bama.
  8. Yes indeed! A very good story about Cam! I cannot wait for Cam to introduce himself to the faiders! The muts, buried in their delusions, believe Cam is a below average running back. The muts believe their offense and defense is as good as, or better than Bama's offense and defense! Schizophrenia!
  9. This is what I am thinking-- Carey will have Stradford and Cole joining into our very good receiver team next season!
  10. The muts were very lucky against Maryland. The muts hit a 35yd pass on 4th down, off a scramble by QB Dwight Dasher, with a couple of seconds left in the game. This pass set up the winning FG.
  11. I found this posting from "Troyfootball05" on the ncaabbs.com SBC fourm. http://philsteele.com/Blogs/DailyBlog.html A very interesting prediction by the college football information geek- Phil Steele! I could not agree more! Thanks Phil!
  12. The SBC race does begin Saturday! North Texas with the visting Muts, and another important SBC game, Troy at Arkansas State! 2 big conference games to start the 2009 SBC race. Forget the OOC games, a new season is here! The real games that count, start this weekend!
  13. I like your "Monday Morning Recaps"! Thanks Quoner! Yes, I do Believe in the Mean Green! I will always give NT my support for a win against the big boys! Bama has an amazing football team, loaded SEC caliber talent and future NFL talent, at every position. North Texas sure did not back down from Bama, and the team gave 100%. I am proud of the players, and I glad many players got the experience to play against Bama at their house. Win or lose, that game experience will be with the North Texas players for the rest of their lives. College football! Our North Texas team has talent too. More talent at each position, right now, than in previous years. North Texas does have the talent to compete in the SBC. This game will give North Texas real opportunity to show the SBC, that North Texas is for real, and sure as heck, not the same team as the past 2 years. Muts on Sat, then a off week, then on to Louisiana, back to Denton for FAU, then off to Troy! The SBC race starts this Saturday at Fouts Field!
  14. By by Miss American pie, Drove my chevy to the levy but the levy was dry, Them good old boys were drinkin whisky and rye, The day the music died! Great song!
  15. "Shock the World", part 3. North Texas 23 Bama 22
  16. From what I have read on the "Bama" boards, and comments from Coach Saban, the first goal of the Bama defense will be to stop the North Texas run game, and to stop Cam Montgomery. Forget Dunbar- he is nothing. Second- Bama considers Nathan "NT" Tune, a second string back up QB, no talent, non experienced QB, as easy prey for the Bama defense. Bama is not worried at all about the North Texas dink and dunk passing game, or what Nathan Tune will bring to the offense. Bama considers our OL "little". Bama sees Nathan as the number one weakness with the North Texas offense. Bama will blitz, blitz and blitz on every offensive series, and their goal is to take Nathan out, any way they can, good or bad. Bama believes their DL players and LB's will run over our "little" OL, and hammer Nathan Tune. Bama does not know Nathan Tune! Bama does not know the desire our players have! It is not the size of the dog, but the size of the fight in the dog, that will win this game for North Texas. Nathan is a tough QB, that knows what he is doing, and knows what he is up against! Nathan grew up on challenges, and the Bama game is another challenge that will motivate Nathan! Nathan is not alone! There will be 10 other North Texas players with him, all with the same goal, beat Bama! If Bama comes after Nathan with the blitzing- the blitzing will leave holes in the Bama defense somewhere! Nathan and the offense will take advantage of Bama's aggressive play. North Texas will hit explosive plays because of the Bama's blitzing game plan. Hit these plays, and the Bama defense will drop off. If the Bama defense does not drop off, then hit'em again with another big play. The dink and dunk game is perfect to "equal" the playing field against a team like Bama. Nathan and his offensive team mates, will play tough, hard, and smart football! These SEC bullies can be beat. I think North Texas has Bama right where North Texas wants them! In a real dog fight! North Texas 23 Ala-damn-bama 22
  17. I will be there! "Shock the World" -- Part 3 Good points, Adler! I know this North Texas team will play hard, and play their very best! This game is a great opportunity for the team, and the staff. The team is looking forward to playing the mighty Crimson Tide, the # 4 ranked college team in America, and going in, to win this game! I am looking forward to the game too! Does this North Texas team have any chance at all? According to all the sports media, and the Bama fans, this game will be over in 5 minutes, 1000 to 0 blow out, every Bama RB gains 500yds, receivers gain 700 yds, while the Bama defense crushes the entire North Texas offense! The Bama fans in the stadium will create a deafing roar each time North Texas has the ball, wanting to disrupt this North Texas team every way possible! Bama will be way over confident-- after all, it is just North Texas! This North Texas team is alot tougher than what Bama hears about, or reads in the media! "Shock the World" -- part 3 is comming! I do Believe in the Mean Green!
  18. How to counter Alabama's big DT, Terrence Cody, 6-5, 355. Line up big Gabe Hollivay, 6-3, 355 in front of Cody. Let these 2 SUMO wrestlers battle it out!
  19. Alabama had 8 players see their first start for the tide, against Vir Tech. A couple of Bama's starters may be out for the North Texas game. Saban wants to start out fast against North Texas, then cruise the full 60 minutes. FIU only had 1 yd on 26 rushing attempts. Alabama did not put the FIU game away until the 4th qtr with 2 long TD runs. http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-footbl/sp.../091409aae.html
  20. Back to the topic- I believe in Nathan "NT" Tune, and I believe in the Mean Green!
  21. I think I fixed the problem- try the link again.
  22. Coach Saban and Greg McElroy- very good compliments about North Texas From Rolltide.com http://www.rolltide.com/sports/m-footbl/sp.../091409aad.html
  23. I was very impressed with freshman punter Will Atterberry's punting Saturday night. Punt after punt, Atterberry was pinning the Bobcats deep in there end of the field. Atterberry had terriffic punts under terrible conditions! Outstanding punting!
  24. 6 minutes ago-- "I can feel it comming in the air... Aaaaooouugghh! Today is the calm before the storm" 3 hours ago-- "Campus is buzzing about our home opener this week ... We need everyone out there! We are going to put on a show!"
  25. One Ohio fan, started a rant posting about the Ohio/U Conn game- "the Love says don't panic" 34 posts about terrible game management, Frankie Solich does not know what he is doing, having a 1st and goal at the U Conn 6, only to end up 4th and 33, then miss the FG, RB Chris Garret is really 160lbs soaking wet, numerious problems with the offense and defense, are just some of the reply postings. With all of this ranting about the football team, how can Ohio be a 3 point favorite? Makes good reading! http://www.bobcatattack.com/messageboard/t...&PID=191146 Click on Football, then scroll down to the "Love" posting.
