Review of Peterson's resume shows a new job almost every year. Still, Peterson has a strong college back ground. I would like to know who the other coaches/candidates being considered.

Read the top line-- La Tech- Sonny Dykes talked with NT RB's Coach Shelton Gandy about the RB's job at La Tech! Crap! I am not sure, but I think Gandy applied for the HFC job at Sam Houston. Is Coach Gandy wanting to leave NT or advance his career? Coach Gandy states he will stay at NT! Great!!

Other dismissed players (From Dave Campbells Texas Football) Suphur Springs HS QB Tyrik Rollison, National top 100, committed to Auburn will leave at the end of the 2010 spring semester, to transfer to Sam Houston- Rhett Bomar move. UH coach Kevin Sumlin, has dismissed AJ Dugat,Parade AA, and WR Ari Tatum-top 5 receiver in Texas HS football.

MTSU's OC, Tony Franklin, has accepted the OC position at La Tech. Now MTSU needs a OC and a DC.

During the signing day event at the Pourhouse, Coach Dodge spoke about how the staff has developed very good JUCO contacts in Mississippi, Kansas, and now California. I am very glad the staff has developed these JUCO program contacts. If a quality JUCO athlete is available, that can help the program, the staff should recruit the player. High school, or JUCO, recruit the athlete!

Antonio Johnson, 6-6, 270, will be a DT. DE Michael Miller weighs in at 260. OL recruit, Richard Abbe, 6-4, 290, Lubbock Monterey, will be a DT, as per Coach Nelson

Pourhouse - count me in. I will be there! Last years LOI event was alot of fun! Coach Dodge has in depth reviews of each player, video highlights, and talks about how each player was recruited. I got to speak to several coaches, and meet NT fans. Well worth the trip to the Pourhouse!

With 3 star DB's like Downing, Hughes, and McCord coming in, and DB's Cook, Gordon, Hill, Smith, Williams, and others, on the NT roster, I can see why Eddie would de-commit, and run off to another school.

Jim Leavitt was the HFC at USF for 14 years. Leavitt was fired and Skip Holtz from ECU was hired. I do not think Holtz retained any of Leavitt's staff. Leavitt's OC was Mike Canales last season. With Cole, Stradford, Baziel, Herron, and Boutwell counting on the 2010 scholarship allotment for the 2010 class, I wonder how the recruiting services (Rivals, Scout) will grade out their star ratings for these players, on their final commitment/signed LOI reports? All of these 5 players were multi-star rated out of high school. When the 2010 class is final, will the recruiting services show their same high school star ratings? If the recuiting services add in their high school star ratings for each player, the 2010 class will be very impressive! Star light, star bright, I wish upon stars before LOI night!

Take a look at Troy. HFC Larry Blakeney needs to replace his OC, the RB's coach, and a QB/WR coach. Right now, Blakeney and his staff are focused on recruiting, while interviews for their open positions are being scheduled. Blakeney has talked to a couple of coaches on his staff, but wants to also explore other possible candidates outside of Troy. Just like KRAM1 stated, Coach Dodge is reviewing candidates, scheduling interviews, to pick the right guy for the OC job while recruitng is the #1 focus for the next few weeks. Over at MTSU, HFC Rick Stockstill is doing the same thing- recruting first, and searching for the right guy for their open DC position. I would think, Coach Dodge has narrowed down his list of candidates, and will conduct interviews. I would not be suprised that Coach Dodge already has the right guy lined up now.

Troy's HFC Larry Blakeney has 3 spots to fill: OC, RB's, and a QB or WR coach position. Blakeney said he has many candidates, but he is not in a hurry to fill the positions. Blakeney has been interviewing candidates, and hopes to have the positions filled before national signing day. Blakeney and his staff have been re-confirming the Troy commitments that former OC Brown and RB's coach Scott had recruited to Troy. The Troy fans are also following the East Carolina HFC opening, because MTSU's Rick Stockstill is reported to be the top candidate for the ECU job. Tony Franklin is the MTSU OC and former OC at Troy. If Stockstill recieves a offer from ECU, there is a good chance he will take the job. If Stockstill is hired by ECU, Tony Franklin, could become a leading candidate for the MTSU job. Would Franklin take the MTSU job if the job is offered, or follow Stockstill to ECU? Franklin has stated he is not too interested in becoming a HFC due to his coaching school business, and would rather be a assistant coach or OC. Troy would be interested in bringing Tony Franklin back as OC, but would Franklin be interested in returning to Troy? This round of coaching musical chairs will be interesting to follow.

Yeah- I saw Vito's afternoon blog too, which does not mean a return call will not be made, and does not rule out Lincoln Riley as a candidate. I would bet the list of candidate names has grown alot more than we as fans, even know about. Coach Dodge said the position will be filled within 3 weeks, which means he will be reviewing all the candidates, picking out the candidates he wants to interview, then setting up the interview date. Riley may be a fan favorite, but who are the other candidates for the OC's job at North Texas? Interesting note about Eric Russell interviewing at Cal.
