I kept voting until a pop up from the DMN reported "suspicious activity" on my voting. I cannot vote again. Blocked! I must wait through a DMN "cooling off" period before I can vote again. What happened to the 87% for Coach Mac voting was in earlier today?
-
I voted 10 times to push Coach Mac per cent to over 57 %.

Congratulations to Jerry Moore
Charlie NT 73 replied to Charlie NT 73's topic in Mean Green Football
Worst hires? Remember BobTyler, Todd Dodge? These guys did wonderful things for North Texas didn't they? Jerry got much better with time? Duh! Very good observation there Grand Green! 24 years at Appalachian State, 215 wins 87 losses, 3 National titles, 10 Conference titles, and a run of 26 straight conference game wins! Coached 99 All Americans, 257 All Conference players! Jerry developed and coached countless NFL players too! Worked for Hayden Fry @ SMU, Tom Osborn @ Nebraska, Ken Hatfield @ Arkansas! Jerry has his principals, Christian, and does not put up with any BS. Jerry's former player and Dallas Cowboy LB Dexter Cloakley is in this 2014 CFHOF class with Jerry too. I certainly hope Coach Mac can have a great career here at North Texas just like Jerry had at Appalachian State! That way Grand Green will not say "one of the worst hires ever" about Coach Mac! -
Congratulations to my cousin, Jerry Moore, for being named to the 2014 College Football Hall of Fame! Outstanding person, family man, and winning football coach! www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/052214aad.html

Fans Invited To Attend Coaches Caravan This Week!
Charlie NT 73 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I will use the Green Line, but at $2.50, senior discount for a day pass. Mockingbird station to DART downtown Dallas, then jump on the Green line to the State Fair grounds. Return home the same way. -
Fans Invited To Attend Coaches Caravan This Week!
Charlie NT 73 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I am going to the Cotton Bowl Caravan event. I was looking at the Cotton Bowl parking web site for parking locations. Car parking in the State Fair parking lots is $15.00 per car. Does anyone know the parking fee for the Caravan Event? -
UNT, DCTA & CVB partnering for gameday events
Charlie NT 73 replied to C Vo's topic in Mean Green Football
I like the part about the DART green Line, and the A-train will provide transportation from Dallas to Apogee. Will this service good for all home games? I rode the Dart and A-train last year. Sure beats the heck out of driving to Denton from Dallas. I enjoyed the train ride! -

Over 31 offers currently on the recruiting board for Parker! Amazing! -
What does Louisville (and others) know that UNT does not?
Charlie NT 73 replied to Cooley's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
I remember when Coach Fry offered 8 Carter High school football players scholarships to North Texas, with one swoop of his hand. Carter had finished a great year. Advanced to the state championship game. I think Carter won the state championship. Coach Fry wanted the Carter "winning attitude" on his North Texas team, so Coach Fry went after the Carter players. The 8 offers made big sports news in Dallas! I cannot remember, but I think the 8 players did commit to Coach Fry and North Texas. My brother and I both graduated from South Oak Cliff High School! The Golden Bears of SOC! Long time ago, but the memories of good times and fun, still hang around! -
Do the ref's throw the yellow hankies across the field or straight up, like a home run in a coke bottle? I have seen both but, so which toss of the yellow hankie is correct? Across the field or straight up in the air? I have seen some yellow hankies just dropped on the field at the ref's feet. At ref school, which method of tossing the yellow hankie is the preferred toss of the hankie rule? I like the ref's that throw the yellow hankie straight at the player that made the rule infraction. I like to see the players facial expressions when the flag sails right at the player. The players expression seems to say, "I do not dot that!". Similar to Bill Clinton's " I did not have sex with that woman!" facial expression. This is good for the TV announcers too. Especially for Brent Munsburger. Give Brent a good jolt of yellow hankie, and Brent will wake up, saying "And there is a yellow flag on the play!", after Brent finishes taking about the beautiful girlfriend of the Ala-damn-bamas quarterback. By the way, according to TMZ, the Bama QB and his girlfriend have split up. She is on the market Brent!

'15 OL Ean Pfeifer (Arkansas)
Charlie NT 73 replied to BillySee58's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Ean is a very good OT or OG in high school, that IMHO can convert over to college ball quickly. Quick feet, uses his arms and hands, can block the quick DE's. Stays with his man through the play. I sure hope the staff can gain Ean's commitment. I see Ean as a OT in college ball. Very good athlete for a big man! By the way. If you watch the video high lights, the opponent team that is in white jersey's and powder blue pants, has two giant DT's. The DT, # 56 is a bull dozer! I hope the staff knows the high school these 2 guys play at! -

Charlie NT 73 replied to BillySee58's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
I agree with Gray Eagle, it is not where you start but where you finish. Why are many people publicly stating our coaching staff does not know how to recruit just because utSA has 9 commitments listed and UNT has no recruits publicly committed. WTH? Why the heck are these people measuring our recruiting success as compared to the road chickens? These people need to stop constantly publicly comparing our coaches recruiting efforts against other schools coaches recruiting efforts. Cry-- cry-- cry-- we have no commitments! Oh no, the sky is falling! It is the coaches fault we have no commitments to show off! These people need to trust in coach Mac, and trust in his staff! Since these recruiting experts know more about recruiting, then by all means go talk to the coaches yourself and complain we have no commitments. Instruct the coaches on the in's and out's of successful recruiting. Tell'em how to do it! Your the experts on recruiting. Apparently, the staff will recruit previously committed players to flip over to NT! This shows me the staff has no fear when recruiting the people they want! I will say this now. The 2015 class will be the best Coach Mac class since Coach Mac arrived. The classes just keep getting better and better each year! Remember NT already has 7-8, D1 transfers on the team that will count against the 2015 class. Plus several gray shirts too! I would say these players count as commitments for the 2015 class. I will say NT is in very good shape for the 2015 class now, and will become much better as this recruiting year progresses through to February 2015. -
'15 ATH Chance Bishop (Kennedale)
Charlie NT 73 replied to BillySee58's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Highlights show he caught a few passes when wide open with no one in his face. I think college LB's and safety's would rough him up. Judging his ability is not easy with just a few highlight clips. I say keep him at OT or guard. Guard may be his best spot on the OL. This guy is a road grader! Very good at using his hands for pull downs, holding opponents at bay, and laying down on a opponent. Has a nasty demeanor for sure! Blindsided one guy on a play when down field. Wiped the guy out. True OL guy! I hope the staff can sign this guy! Give him a fighting chance! -
Consider this. North Texas has what, 6 or 7, D1 transfers for the 2014 season. Coach Mac and his staff awarded scholarships to 2 to 4 walk on's after the spring game. North Texas already has 8 to 10, D1 players "committed" to North Texas. As far as High School and JUCO prospects, I would say there are solid commitments right now for North Texas (I would not call this stealth recruiting prospects). Committed players make their own announcements on their school of choice. The announcements will become public at the proper time for these players. I do not worry about which school has the early commitments or the star power rankings. My view of star power is the star ranking is just a popularity contest. The college football rag mags will start showing up soon. We will have many new topics to discuss from the sports talking heads experts. I believe Coach Mac and his staff can evaluate players they want to recruit, regardless of "star" rankings. I do trust in Coach Mac! GMG!

I remember the Joe T's of yesteryear, small house, walking through the kitchen, sitting at big round tables, and you ordered just the "dinner". The staff would bring bowls full of all sorts of good Mexican food! At that time, I thought Joe T Garcia's had the best Mexican food in the state! Now, it reminds me of a tourist trap.

I was listening to George and Hank on the radio during the game. George played a taped interview with Coach Mac, who stated Eric Keena , would handle kick off's in 2014. Keena kick's the ball out of the end zone with his KO's. Both George and Hank talked about Keena's kick off's going out of the end zone and how Keena would be a powerful weapon for the team. 5000 + fans The last spring game I can remember where over 5000 fans attended the game, was during Todd Dodge's first spring game at Fouts Field. I remember meeting FFR in the stands, who said to me, "Are your believing this?" referring to the big turn out of fans for the spring game. The entire alumni side was packed with fans!

What is the atmosphere like for the spring game?
Charlie NT 73 replied to MeanGreen55's topic in Mean Green Football
The atmosphere is fun and laid back. Sit any where in the stadium. I do not know if the Club Level will be open. Come early because there will be fans tail gating, visit with friends. Visit the campus, shop the stores for NT gear. The Green - White game runs about 100 plays. Bands-I do not know. -
I just watched the Brett Vito video with coach Mac, and read Vito's story. I did not know Laramie Lee, Chad Davis and James Jones were not in spring ball. I hope these players are OK and will return for two-a-days.

"Snowy" posted that DW was injured in the scrimmage, and did not return to action. I wonder why BV did not mention this in his minute by minute scrimmage blog reports? Conner Means replaced DW for the remaining scrimmage game time. Hopefully DW's injury is not too serious. Maybe wear a knee brace for a day, then be ready to go again. I do want to see for myself, the most gifted player on the field next Saturday. The QB race needs all of the QB candidates competing.

Is WR Camerin Brown a walk on or transfer? 6-2, 205 from McKinney (TX) Liberty HS. Vito reported Brown caught a TD pass in the scrimmage. I was glad to see Turner Smiley, 6-0, 187, RS Fr from Frisco, caught some passes in the scrimmage too. How about 6-5 WR Clayton Adams from Grandbury? I hope he is having a good spring. Clayton is another big receiver that could be a good addition to the team.
