North Texas 42 UAB 20

UAB is not Indiana, LA Tech, or Texas. UAB is more our size and speed. The North Texas defense will handle the Blazers, no question about it! The North Texas offense will shine, even with a rookie QB. The good times will come back Saturday!

Here are the game highlights from the UAB and WKU game. UAB won 42- 39 at WKU. The video does not show a lot of action because of the ground level video taping. The MUTS complained to C-USA about our UNT student section behind the opponents team, was too harassing and too loud. Now, the MUTS complain or disagree with just about anything related to an opponents game or game promotion. I suggest we UNT fans, find something to complain about to the MUTS on our next game.

The coaches are working with all of the QB's on improving their game. I would be happy if DW could have more playing time. I just do not see that happening with Coach Mac. Josh Greer is learning and learning fast. Josh is the Mean Greens best option at QB, and will be with the remaining games. Like I said, call up Coach Mac to nick pick every move that Josh makes, good or bad. Call up Coach Canales to tell him Josh stares the wrong way, can not throw a pass, can not read defenses, is too slow, misses wide open receivers, has terrible foot work, cannot run, need to open up the offense, and that DW does wonders against beat down Idaho and $MU in a mop up roll, therefore DW should be the starter every week not JG or AM. If DW can out play JG, and AM, then start him. Lets see what he can do. Coach Mac makes that decision, not message board know it alls.

On any passing play, there is always a receiver that is wide open, but yet, the QB does not see the wide open receiver. I have seen missed opportunities with many North Texas QB's over the seasons from QB's like Jordan Case, Scott Hall, to name a couple of QB's that turned out pretty darn good. Coaches review game film, review open receivers, receivers that were covered, and other options on the play with the QB's. The coaches break down game film, then review and teach the players/QB's on how to make the play work better. In practice, the Coaches, QB's, and WR's work on the missed pass opportunities, and passing routes, to improve their play for the next game. Dork, call up Coach Canales yourself and tell Coach Canales how you can coach QB's, and explain that Greer can not get away with JUCO ball at the D1 level. Tell Coach Canales that Greer needs to make pass completions to open up the play book. Get that point in Canales's head first, then Greer's head second. I am sure Coach Canales would appreciate your personal input on how you can coach QB's and WR's. Like i said, you and other MG arm chair coaches, should call up coach Canales direct. Give Canales your what for about Greer, and your advice on coaching QB's. When you call up Canales, you should also call Coach Mac too. Tell coach Mac how good you are at evaluating QB's and coaching QB's. Tell Coach Mac you should be the OC!

DW went in with the North Texas 3's and 4's to do mop up work on a totally beat down $MU team. That is it. That is all DW will have, is mop up work assignments. And that is being generous for playing time. If you do not like JG, then go to the man directly, Coach Mac, and Coach Canales, to vent your opinions on JG, instead of making degrading statements about JG here on GMG.

The phony's board is entertaining! Reading the phonies board caused an extreme relaxation feeling, causing me to run to the bathroom to take a spray paint dump! I feel much better now! Everything came out all right! Thor, thank you for the sunburn recommendation!

Section 208, row 4, Seats 1, 2, and 3! Tres Amigos!

North Texas fans had high hopes of a upset of Texas, based on last years performance influencing the new 2014 squad, North Texas has new talented players, some experience players, and a great coaching staff to support the team. Only thing blocking success at Texas was this. North Texas ran into a far superior team, with great athletes, big fast players, that dominated the North Texas team in every aspect of the game.. Our quarterbacks never had any chance of success, with the Texas defensive pressure coming at them. Our OL was not giving our QB's protection, while the Texas LB's and secondary had our receivers covered up. The games are won or lost in the trenches. So do not put the blame on the QB's. I watch the OL and the DL during a game. Our OL and DL could not do anything to stop Texas. Our star linemen were not a factor in this game. Now, we have $MU. $MU is not Texas. Our OL and DL will have success against the phonies. I believe Greer will start this game. I believe Greer will show us that he is the best QB available. I am sorry to say this, DW will never see the field this year. Not even in a mop up roll. Yes I would like to see if he is the star many fans say he is. Put him in coach. I think DW has burnt too many bridges with the staff, to be put into a game.

Myself, my brother, and a very good friend, a ex NT football player went to Vickery Park. Arrived early. Met several "Mean Greener's" including Zac Olen and his family. Shout out to Terry! Too many people to name. There was a girl there that played golf for NT, with her friends. I saw several MG fans that had been to other Game Watching Events. Vickery Park is a rectangle shaped facility, being long and narrow, where lots of regulars come into the place on Saturday night. The restaurant was divided into two parts. The front part was the bar, tables, and wall side booths. The second half back section of the restaurant was for MG fans. Big Shuffleboard game and a Foosball game took space. You had to maneuver your way through the crowd. The MG section was crowded, no siting to handle that many MG fans. After half time, my group moved to a booth/table in the front of the bar. The game was on the bar TV's. We could sit down and have cold beers! For about 35-45 Mean Green fans, Texas fans, and the regular Saturday night crowd, the place was filled up. Restaurant service was very good. The redheaded waitress waiting the Mean Green fans worked very hard keeping everyone with food and beverages! Great job! Over all , all of us had a good time. But-- a larger place with space would be great!

If you are curious- this is how Texas looks at our game. A little curiosity. The real game is the following week with BYU then, UCLA. Texas believes they will be 3-0! All I read is how superior their Offense and how superior their Defense is against us. Average talent levels! Man the tea sippers cannot see the forest for the trees! These guys are blind and live off illusions of grandeur! I know the Mean Green will play hard, and grab the win right under their snobby noses!

I live in the lower Greenville area, close to Richmond Ave, south of Mockingbird Lane. I see many NT fans/students in the area. (wearing NT gear!) My brother and my self will jump the DART train at the Mockingbird Station, then ride up to Plano, and Vickery Park for the game watching event. FYI- I believe the Truck Yard restaurant and bar here in lower Greenville (across from Trader Joe's) has the whorn network on their big screen TV. The NT vs UT game will be on the Truck Yards TV system.

East Texas 7 on 7 Report- Rodney Bendy was "impossible to cover" Good report on Bendy's teammate WR Nick Cain, who is "a absolute burner" Maybe the staff should check on Nick Cain too.

Oh, believe me, I like TJ Tauaalo as a true NG! TJ will impress people and opponents this season. The guy is a very good player with a big motor! Comparing TJ to Igwe is no comparrission at all. I guess I was expecting the staff to bring in another TJ Tauaalo type of player. Still a lot of recruiting to go. Hopefully toward the end of the HS season, some big NG's will become available!

Is the staff scrapping the bottom of the barrel now? Ark Pine Bluff ?? No other choices at NG available anywhere? Not one NG in the whole state of Texas that wants to come to North Texas? That is amazing!
