Someone on the CUSA board linked to a site with some nice season schedule wallpapers. https://picsurge.com/g/4nzFYN

I'm just glad we're finally in a conference, and especially a division, where a rivalry with a respectable team is a possibility. Can't say how indifferent I was to go back to Denton and watch a game against someone like ULM, South Alabama, or Troy. Even in an off scheduling year, we have Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech coming in. Add SMU, and that's half the home schedule this year filled with potential rivals.

Apparently someone didn't tell these schools about being lucky to play P5 away games. AAC: (7) UNC @ ECU, TCU & Texas A&M @ SMU, Maryland & NC St @ USF, Georgia Tech @ Tulane, Oklahoma @ Tulsa MWC: (6) Oregon St & Washington @ Hawaii, Wake Forest @ Utah St, AZ St @ New Mexico, Nebraska @ Fresno St, Washington St @ Nevada, MAC (6) Indiana @ Bowling Green, Missouri @ Toledo, Baylor @ Buffalo, Syracuse @ Central Michigan, Boston College & Colorado @ UMASS CUSA (4) Oklahoma St @ UTSA, Texas Tech @ UTEP, Pitt & Louisville @ Florida International Sun Belt (3) Mississippi St @ South Alabama, Duke @ Troy, Wake Forest @ Louisiana Monroe, Independents: Virginia @ BYU, Rutgers @ Navy From http://csnbbs.com/thread-691074.html

Right, but we've scheduled two paycheck games next year. I'm beginning to suspect he scheduled 2015 the way he did to get money to start building the baseball park. Doesn't make sense otherwise.

The really amazing one is Iowa. Two for none with them that messed up our home game schedule and provides nothing outside of a big paycheck from a middle of the pack P5 team.

North Texas coach recalls a painful moment — a loss to UTSA
ColoradoEagle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I have a hard time seeing UTEP as a rival, because every single one of their fans I met last year or have seen post are so down to Earth and nice. La. Tech fans seem that way until they start winning a lot, and then they get obnoxious. 95% of UTSA fans are just unbearable one way or the other, and that loss last year really stings. I'd say they're on the fast track at the moment. It's the only away game I'll be making this year.- 26 replies

Interview on Mike+Mike with Bob Bowlsby
ColoradoEagle replied to Stan R's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm not talking about skill level, I'm talking about viewership and advertising dollars. There are some non-P5 schools out there that people will tune in for, but not in the huge numbers they would for ACC/Big 10, and, to a lesser extent, PAC-12 and Big XII. -

I'm pretty sure a P5 tournament would dwarf a non-P5 NCAA tournament. -
Went ahead and subbed on BeyondPod and will listen to the ep tonight. Thanks for the content!

Just renewed for section 210. Looking forward to be absolutely fried on the 6th. Told me mid-August a few moments ago.

Didn't want to hijack Flyer's thread but it gave me an idea. I'd love to set up a CUSA Thursdays event at Boomerjack's on Western Center in Fort Worth to watch the games, eat some decent food, and down some alcohol. If we get a lot interested, I'll talk to the manager and get it set up. Otherwise I'm sure we can just show up. The first one would be Thursday, September 4th at 7 PM. Arizona @ UTSA. Might also be a Friday game here and there since it seems like they're split up a bit more this year.

GMG.com Places to eat and drink in Denton -- 2014 version
ColoradoEagle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Subway? If I'm headed back to Denton and want a sandwich, it's always a stop at Sub Hub. I can count on one hand the number of times I ate at Subway in Denton, and that was usually because someone else was buying. Outside of that, I like the calzones at J&J's on the square. Del Taco's breakfast burritos and cheap ass bean burritos are good. Not unique to Denton, but unique to me now that the Watauga one is closed and I don't get back to work in California often enough. No mention of Beth Marie's yet?- 76 replies

Going to be double fisting with a beer in one hand and a bottle of water in the other for the SMU game. Hoping it isn't the hottest day ever.

Don't really care what Brett likes to do with his blog. His blog addresses hardcore MG fans. The vast majority of sports section readers don't know nor care that Brett has a blog. To be straight, I'm not ragging on Brett having a blog, but it has nothing to do with an article for casual sports fans.

As football fests begin, ranking the FBS conferences
ColoradoEagle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
The two conferences were 3-3 against each other last year. With the exception of Ohio's blowout of a bad Tulsa team, and Marshall's blowout of a horrid Miami, the games were decided by a touchdown or less. The author dedicates half his CUSA write-up to how bad the bottom third is, yet fails to mention anything in his MAC section about how bad their bottom is: Miami OH (0-12), Western Michigan (1-11), UMass (1-11), Eastern Michigan (2-10). Also we replaced a 3-9 Tulsa with 8-4 Western Kentucky. -
Could've used it 7 years ago, but still excited nonetheless!
