  1. It seemed like there was a huge camp against Lewin. I personally liked his playcalling and knowledge. Obviously it came down to him or Tom Grieve, and they made a mistake on that one. Neither Barnett nor Busby have been able to carry the broadcasts, which highlights exactly how boring Grieve is for anything but occasional commentary. Also he's supposedly a huge asshole.
  2. The Big 12 may be having an up year in basketball, but there's no chance they steal Louisville away from a basketball powerhouse conference. Their most likely target, other than BYU, would be Cincinatti. UCF or UConn as longshots.
  3. There's a lot more than political hurdles. We have never been able to fill our new stadium. Even the first year when bringing in Houston and Indiana, we weren't able to convince 30,500 people in a county of more than 650,000 or an area of almost 7 million to show up for a Saturday. We have a BOR who would rather stick within a very conservative budget than push the envelope the way TCU and now SMU has. We have an AD who is completely incompetent when it comes to new hires, but sticks within the small budget and is friends with the right people. Until there's a change in vision by our own BOR and either a new AD or someone to show RV how to make a good hire, we're stuck where we're at. Could UNT ever get to the point of being a serious contender for the Big 12 or SEC? Sure. We're one of the largest public schools in the country located in one of the top/biggest DMA's in the country. However, even with a seriously enlightened BOR, AD, and President, we're still talking 20-30 years away. In other words, don't hold your breath.
  4. Grabbing Birdman and Whiplash for my flight to/from my office next week. I've heard mixed reviews on Birdman, but anyone I've talked to who's seen Whiplash says it's an amazing movie. I'd also like to work Foxcatcher in sometime soon. Still trying to get to the theater to see American Sniper. I've heard it's the best movie ever made or ever will be made.
  5. That was never the experience for me until senior year. At that point, many of the people I went to class with were hitting the end of their apartment leases in Denton and decided to move to Lewisville or The Colony, because they were already interning/working outside of Denton or had plans to.
  6. Attended UTD for a semester, and it felt like a very expensive, challenging community college. Good education, but I can't personally think of a school I'd rather attend less than UTD.
  7. Thanks for clearing that up. Also, Bluray players can be had now for $50. Just saying...
  8. I don't think there's any other way to put this except blunty: Are they coming down because of licensing issues or because you're trying to sell DVDs?
  9. Yeah, it's definitely fake.
  10. Good, but she needs to step her game up to match the all time best.
  11. Said the same last year as this year, make it Bluray and I'll buy. I'm not gonna pay for 480p when 720p is available on YouTube.
  12. We couldn't even get Mark Cuban up to Denton to watch Indiana play on a Mavs off-night. You know, the school where he built a company so he could hear their games in Dallas. Not a chance we get Garrett, Romo, and Murray to the Pit.
  13. Maybe they'll give a discount on season tickets for the missing game...
  14. How is it that I name Kincaid's and say Rodeo Goat as an occasional treat and everyone focuses on the fact that I mention Rodeo Goat? lol. A Kincaid's junior cheeseburger is a 1/4 pound burger, same as an In-n-Out Double Double. I'd rather pay the extra $1.15 for the Kincaid's burger. For about the same price I'd prefer a Burgerhouse cheeseburger old fashion. For about the same price I'd prefer a Griff's Double Giant cheeseburger. Not sure how thinking In-N-Out is average means I'm "desperate to bash something from California." There are plenty of great California only restaurants, In-N-Out just isn't one of them. And I work in the SGV.
  15. Rosa's is about the best quality fast food Mexican there is, but it's damned expensive. Might as well go sit at a real restaurant.
  16. In N Out is not a very good fast food burger, sorry. Fatburger and Burgerhouse are good fast food burgers. Whataburger and Griff's are above average. Even Wendy's is better than In-N-Out. It's not that it's a bad burger, but it's nearly the same as McDonald's. People in CA talk about the place like it's a mecca, but that's because they grew up with it. It's a very average fast food burger.
  17. Maybe if I still lived in CO. In N Out really is not a good burger. I mean, it's good when you're drunk or high, as suggested by oldguy, but that's about it. I'd take Kincaid's over it every day of the week, except for maybe Saturday where I'd treat myself to Rodeo Goat.
  18. Surprised you're not already moved over to 25/25. They're doing that automatically.
  19. Del Taco's value bean and cheese burrito and their bacon breakfast burrito with a cherry coke are great. Everything else from that place is pure poison.
  20. Well, likely you don't, anyway. FCC voted today to change the definition of broadband from 4mbps down/1mbps up to 25/3. http://arstechnica.com/business/2015/01/fcc-chairman-mocks-industry-claims-that-customers-dont-need-faster-internet/
