  1. And I guess CUSA Digital Network. Does anyone use these? I remember a few years ago it seemed like there were a lot of technical issues. Have they been ironed out? Would I have to subscribe to both to get all televised games, or just one or the other?
  2. UNT athletics as a whole should coin the slogan, "Call us or don't call us. Who cares."
  3. People came out for Johnny Jones' teams, because they were decently coached and it always felt like there was a chance to win. Even living close to campus isn't going to bring people out for Benford ball.
  4. Current basketball attendance isn't a reflection on the fans. Even dedicated fans won't take the time out of their day or especially drive 20+ miles for a bad product.
  5. More people showed up in 2013 the more games we won. Even for UTSA where the temperature was almost freezing there were almost 20k. If he could manage to string together some winning seasons, Apogee would be standing room only.
  6. The whole current state of History Channel, Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, and Arts & Entertainment completely invalidates the argument against funding public broadcasting.
  7. I think this should be filed under obvious. Most diehard sports fans would pay for ESPN and Fox Sports (or standalones like MLB.tv). Casual sports fans know there's more than enough content free OTA. I'm surprised the number willing to pay is actually as high as it is. I'm absolutely shocked that Discovery and History Channel are in the top 5 networks. I would pay not to receive those.
  8. Am I the only one who keeps seeing the issues in the highlighted area?
  9. They still have it, but it was moved to the Ultimate tier.
  10. For college? No. I went to UNT, so that's what I support. I cannot wrap my head around being a fan of multiple universities unless you went to multiple universities.
  11. Weeknights are inconvenient, but if you want to be somewhere, you'll be there. I'd rather see people say, "I don't care enough to go" than to say, "Well, I get out of work late, and there's soccer practice for the kids, etc etc". It's one night out of the year, your boss will let you leave early or give you the day off if you ask far enough in advance, and little league soccer isn't going to collapse because your son/daughter missed a practice.
  12. Nothing conveys football hype quite like Rihanna.
  13. Tap the breaks. No one was referring to DW as an NFL talent that could be one and done at UNT.
  14. FiOS has it, but it's SD only. I really hate that we had Thursday night games of the week on FS1 during its first year, and since we've been relegated to CBS Sports. That network isn't worth anything until they can move from sports tier to basic tier for most cable providers.
  15. Community college is a waste. I did a summer and one fall class at CCCC-Frisco and CCCC-McKinney, respectively. They were the easiest classes I've taken for anything, ever. I learned absolutely nothing and they did nothing to prepare me for UNT let alone the real world. Oh, and that was five A's.
  16. It's just a crappy placement considering how far it is from everything except Far North Dallas. 47 mile drive from where I am in Fort Worth. Maybe we need an FC Fort Worth. That said, I do remember during that time the choices were pretty much stay at the Cotton Bowl or move to Frisco. It'd be nice to see a new stadium plan, even with this one only being 10 years old. I'll check out the beer garden. Sounds fun.
  17. UAB is better than any of the alternatives being talked about, outside of the longshot NIU.
  18. Not really a big soccer fan. Thinking of going to my first FC Dallas game in a few weeks against the Dynamo. Last time I was at a game they were the Burn. Any suggestions? Really wish they would have picked almost any other city in the area than Frisco. Pain in the ass and expensive to get to from any direction.
  19. I feel like there was a bit of a surge in enrollment once the rec center opened, but I don't know if that's true or related at all.
  20. So can they pull a "just kidding" or do they have to start over from scratch in FCS?
  21. Looking at those, assuming it's 3k+, it's hard not to get excited. Just too burned out on being teased with it. I would hope that they make the whole thing chairback instead of just the middle seats as shown.
  22. Good to hear. Don't suppose you have an image? Are you referring to these?
  23. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying TCU is an amazing facility. The difference between it and Baylor is a pretty large gap. What I'm referring to is those initial designs being shopped around for funding and how absolutely cut rate they look, even next to average facilities like TCU. Apogee is amazing... and paid for by students. I wouldn't consider any of our other facilities acquired during RV's tenure as all that hot.
