  1. You comparing us to those schools might be the dumbest thing I've ever read on this board.
  2. Firing Mac isn't quickly fixing the issue. He had obviously checked out for whatever reason (couldn't cut it, health, interest, etc), but Mac himself was not and is not the problem with UNT. The problem with UNT is that we have the bare minimum support from the administration. At any real school that cared about athletics, RV would've been gone a couple years into the Dodge hire. At the very least he would've been gone after the Benford hire. At UNT, short of RV burning the school to the ground, it's becoming very apparent there's nothing he can do to get fired. So if you don't expect results in athletics from the guy who is responsible for results in athletics...you obviously don't care. We don't get made fun of because we made the wrong hires, we get made fun of because we don't care enough to fix what's really wrong with how this school treats athletics.
  3. Don't forget Mac giving his buddy Cosh a job. He's an awful DC.
  4. SMU is not a good football team.
  5. It's ridiculous that we have all the early games during the scorching heat of September, and then a night game on October 31st, ensuring that people with kids won't come and students won't come. I'd be surprised if there's 5k people at that game.
  6. Absolutely. Game hasn't started yet, but usually there's a good flow of students walking behind the mini scoreboard. Not tonight.
  7. I wouldn't even say that many.
  8. WKU 77 UNT 24
  9. Enjoyed the first part, kinda tuned out at the dismissal of the movement to fire RV. I guess, because he helped get a stadium built, he is UNT AD for life.
  10. I want to see if there's any change with Canales at the helm. If not, it'll be my last game of the year.
  11. I don't see how you keep Andrus on the roster after that. Moreland had a low throw, but Andrus could've made a play. Either way, he was involved in all 3 errors, and I think he lost a lot of fans tonight.
  12. What happened to the social media ban?
  13. Somewhat related, but I was genuinely shocked when RV said on the podcast that an IPF is down the list in terms of priorities.
  14. I can put my finger on it. Most of the players quit.
  15. Or he had a really good OC who made him look better than he was.
  16. Don't get me wrong, Dickey didn't get in conference and run the spread. It's more of he was afraid to do anything that could possibly cause a turnover in OOC vs. he would take a few (small) chances in conference play. Dickey was afraid to take chances 80-90% of the time, vs. Mac was afraid 100% of the time.
  17. I can see some reasoning behind that game plan when used in the right situation. Dickey was putting way over-matched teams up against some huge opponents in OOC, and went with this philosophy to keep the scores respectable. The difference was that as soon as we hit conference play DD would open the playbook up a bit more vs. I never felt like anything opened up with Mac. It was a very wimpy way to play football.
