  1. One can hope. I named them because they'd be the easiest "get" despite Judy's laughable grant of rights.
  2. At this point, I think your expansion targets in order are: UTEP, Georgia State, Texas State. None are incredibly attractive (when are they ever), and I could see preferences varying on the first two. This is also assuming that the desire is to get back to 14. It might not make financial sense to do so.
  3. This...I actually doubt. It doesn't really fit their geographic footprint, and I think all of this realignment news pointed out how that conference basically holds its schools hostage. Unless the AAC was on its deathbed, I can't imagine any current schools leaving for the MWC.
  4. There are plenty of options in medium to large sized metros that don't bring the horrible athletics department of UNLV.
  5. In a world where the AAC is raiding the MWC (and hopefully that is this world), I'm not sure why I see so many advocating for UNLV. They're no longer the basketball school they were in the 80s or even the late 00's, early '10s. They've had 1 winning football season in the last 22 years, and it's the year we beat them in the Heart of Dallas bowl. Hard pass from me.
  6. We just became the only G5 show in town. If any conference wants access to the DFW market, we're the only piece left on the board.
  7. I don’t think you put out that statement if things are going your way.
  8. Boise State and San Diego State. Potentially Colorado State and Air Force.
  9. Canceled because of active shooter at UNC.
  10. That kind of attendance the first game of the year would be embarrassing, even for SMU.
  11. Could be a similar situation to the ACC where they’d be coming in at a reduced share. Maybe only ESPN will kick in cash, and not Fox, for example.
  12. The payouts aren't the same; AAC pays significantly more than MWC for the base contract. No idea whether or not that would go up with the signing of those two (plus potentially more). For exposure, there's this thought with some MWC fans that they have more games on linear TV than the AAC. While technically true, AAC games are on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU. The vast majority of MWC games are on CBSSN, and as we all know from Judy's mess, that's a channel roughly 14 people subscribe to.
  13. Parents in 2000: Don't trust the internet Same people in 2023: TRUST EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET!
  14. Stop reposting OS_Beaver. He knows as much about what's going on with Oregon State realignment as Judy Macleod knows what's going on with college athletics.
  15. One of my favorite football memories was being at Fouts during the Dickey years, and for one of the games a group of study abroad students were in the upper level behind us dressed up and yelling in Japanese the whole game.
  16. Hoping to see one or two of them crack the top 25 at some point. We can be one, someone else can be two.
  17. Is the home side usually shaded at 3:00 PM, or does it take a bit longer? Any idea when the upper deck is shaded?
  18. This. It seems like the goal should be to get these two*, SDSU, Boise State, CSU, and AFA. At that point, you have three unofficial pods for scheduling. *This assumes adding these schools increases the value of the contract overall, and not just pro rata. If pro rata, then the AAC should not expand.
  19. That line cracked me up; CBS trying to pump up their properties. The MWC hasn't even been in a NY6 bowl since Boise in 2014. Beyond the permanently online G5 fans, no one in the country views the MWC as the dominant G5 conference.
  20. That's just some kid who doesn't know anything. He's repeating what he read from MHVer3's feed. Actually blocked me on Twitter when I asked if that's where he got the info.
