  1. I really think you’re overestimating how many students go home Labor Day weekend.
  2. You said Bennett’s antics were an ugly part of the game. I can only read that as a negative connotation.
  3. Bennett’s antics? Dude, seriously? It’s not a kids tee ball game.
  4. Does anyone know if we’ll still be wearing throwbacks every home game? I hope not, but the only new unis the team has posted are the whites.
  5. What the hell did they talk about? Counting our game there are only 6 worth watching.
  6. It is sad the game likely to be the most competitive with the best atmosphere isn’t being carried on a national channel. Thanks CUSA.
  7. I gave a reason why UTEP fans might not feel optimistic about the matchup. They're coming off imploding down the stretch last year. Plus, they lost to us and we beat UTSA while UTEP got their ass kicked.
  8. Haven't been a fan of Hank since he blocked me on Twitter. I've never even @ the guy. I'm guessing its because I tweeted he'd be a bad/lazy hire for AD when George Dunham was trying to use his influence to get his buddy the job. Thank god Smatresk didn't listen. As far as his color work goes, he's well spoken and has great knowledge of UNT history, but his in game analysis is very surface level and doesn't put you in the mind of the player or coach. Understandable since he never played.
  9. Brammer’s situation is a little more straightforward. Used all 5 years of eligibility at UNT and is using his COVID year at Vandy. Hayward split his 5 years at 3 different schools. I agree with other posters that it seems like he should be eligible, but I’m guessing the multiple transfers is the reason for the waiver requesting a 6th year. From what I’ve read, it sounds like it will be eventually granted. Did someone at UTEP screw up and not submit a waiver until recently?
  10. He transferred from Marshall after the 2018 season. Might have lost a year of eligibility?
  11. They’re not optimistic because they lost 5 of their last 6 games. All their wins last year were against AWFUL competition. Only respectable win was vs ODU.
  12. I guess I don't care if my coach is a cheerleader for the fanbase. Sure, it's great if he does that, but it has no impact on his coaching ability. All I care about is the team he's able to put on the field. And based on how the team rallied last year they obviously buy into what Littrell and his staff are selling. That's way more important than a coach glad handing fans at caravans.
  13. Damn this team is young! Looking like we'll have a solid squad our first year in the AAC.
  14. You do realize these weekly press conferences aren’t meant to get fans excited, right? It’s just a chance for the press to get sound bites and to pass on essential information.
  15. Because at the FBS level DEs are usually taller than 6'2. This means they are likely to have longer arms that allow them to get hands on the OT first. That isn't a recipe for good protection.
  16. No, it’s not a chicken and egg thing. Ever heard “it’s about the Jimmys and Joes, not the Xs and Os”? And Saban could have gotten us to 9 wins last year? Lol sure.
  17. A new stadium gets you increased attendance for a year, maybe. But other than that fans don’t care about any other facility. People aren’t going to more games because we built an indoor facility.
  18. Fans are attracted to new facilities? WTF?!? Fans only care about winning and to do that you need the best athletes possible. We are only going to do that with a well funded NIL collective. I’m shocked how many people on this board would rather see UNT slip into total irrelevance than give 1 dime to NIL.
  19. It doesn’t matter how good your coach is if they don’t have any athletes.
  20. As it stands right now, NIL. Not even close.
  21. Forget the defense, if Fine just had an AVERAGE offensive line we would have back-to-back 10 win seasons and a couple CUSA West titles.
  22. Some people REALLY value bowl wins. I don't agree with it because I think bowls are becoming meaningless and you never know which teams are motivated to play. Give me 9-3 with a bowl loss over 7-5 with a bowl win all day.
