  1. Yeah…not sure Aune is the one deserving of jokes after today’s game.
  2. I imagine it will be done once we hit 2-5. I can’t see our defense holding anyone under 30.
  3. 1. Houston Baptist was in NAIA program before going D1 so they weren't starting from scratch. 2. HBU has a 284-357 record since going D1 and their 1 NCAA appearance was because of a miracle conference tourney run as the 7 seed. And in their 7 seasons (not counting the COVID season) as a member of the Southland Conference they have a 95-120 conference record. I wouldn't say this qualifies as being nationally competitive.
  4. 3. New Softball stadium Not going to happen. We are renovating/expanding the current stadium.
  5. I understand that, but as a new program we'd still be getting last pick of D1 talent. Do you have any recent examples of upstart programs that were nationally competitive within a few years?
  6. Very impressive effort by Vito. Especially, when he gives Aune credit for "leading" UNT on the 5 game win streak last year. When in reality, the main reason we went on the streak is because we took the ball out of Aune's hands. And no, Brett. His competition percentage isn't low because we take a lot of shots down field. It's because he misses 3 or 4 WIDE OPEN targets a game. He is what he is and that's an inconsistent G5 QB. He'd be great to have as your backup, but if you're depending on him as a starter then your passing game is going to struggle.
  7. If you look at the trajectory of each sport it probably makes more sense to add men's soccer. Soccer continues to grow in popularity, especially with college aged people, while baseball continues to be stagnant. And I imagine soccer would be way cheaper.
  8. So is the football talent. The argument that UNT would immediately be a baseball power is extremely optimistic and misleading, IMO.
  9. How in the world are Texas State and Arkansas State so high?
  10. They struggled to beat a mediocre Army. I think Texas will handle them okay.
  11. Idaho State went 1-10 last year. I would say that qualifies as a very poor FCS team. And we gave Cal all they could handle in 2019 and we ended up being a bad team. I have no idea what to think of UNLV right now.
  12. Good thing there's an app they can easily access that broadcasts games live as well as having past games and coach's shows stored for on demand listening.
  13. IMO, the narrator joke is a reference to Ron Howard's narration of Arrested Development.
  14. I doubt it. SMU has already hosted Texas A&M and Texas Tech at Ford Stadium.
  15. They somehow buying out SMU season tickets? It'll be a pro OU crowd, but it will be around 55/45. SMU boosters won't allow OU to completely take over the stadium. They'll buyout sections of seats and make sure they end up with SMU fans.
  16. Why would they do that when the app can be heard from anywhere in the country? No one is going to invest in a dying medium.
  17. If pushing a couple icons on your phone is too difficult I don't know what to say...should have plenty of time to open the app as you slowly get out of the stadium. I get people hate change, but radio is dying. It makes sense our AD would be pushing us to get on a reliable streaming platform. They for damn sure aren't going to spend thousands of dollars to get us on a radio station with a better signal.
  18. Thanks for the sarcasm...But everyone's problem would be solved if they downloaded the Varsity Network app.
  19. Amen. I've never had a problem getting clear audio through whatever app/stream is broadcasting the game. There's no need to complain about what radio station we're on when you can just download the Varsity Network app.
  20. Narrator: It was the end.
  21. That's odd. I haven't seen it officially listed anywhere. Even Stadium's app doesn't show it on Saturday's guide.
  22. That’s not correct.
  23. Cal isn’t very good and UNLV was only able to gain 309 yards of offense and went 1-12 on 3rd downs. It’s hard to gauge them right now because their win was against an awful FCS opponent.
  24. Agreed. I think our offense will put up lots of points on Saturday. I just don’t know if our defense will be able to hold UNLV under 35…
  25. A bad FCS team put up 458 yards on us. That concerning. And it’s not like those yards were in garbage time… I agree there’s not much to complain about on the offense side of the ball.
