This is a lame excuse but I really think Tulsa being our 3rd home game in 4 weeks was a factor. Especially for fans who live an hour or more from Denton.

DATCU’s capacity has always been listed as 30,850. And I don’t know what you mean by “natural” but that La Tech game was marketed like crazy with the Joe Greene statue and all the NFL hall of famers in attendance.

Very dumb. It needs to be made a conference game and moved to a different date. It’d be awesome if it was moved to the Friday after Thanksgiving and given the noon slate all to itself.

IMO the reports the last couple days made it clear UTSA was not a top target. At least not on the same level as USF, Memphis, and Tulane. I think the AAC put them on the graphic because their name had been mentioned so much.

I think we might see it this year. Army's schedule is very easy and has a good chance being 8-0 coming to Denton. If we can get there with a 6-2 record the crowd will be massive.

I LOVE the game highlights the AAC puts out. 4-6 min videos showing all scoring/splash plays for each team.

I think everyone knows this. It doesn’t make the practice any less dumb. With everything being electronic nowadays they could easily announce the actual attendance. Last night was a jarring example. There weren't more than 22-23K. And what annoys me the most is because of the announced attendance, last night is officially the 5th best attended game in stadium history, which is total BS.

Of course people care about starting 3-1. That makes a winning season highly probable. Beat Wyoming and that likely guarantees another 23K+ crowd for Tulsa. Win that to get to 4-1 and Tech starts feeling like a bad dream.

Lol no I think Tech was motivated by almost losing to ACU and getting their doors blown off by Washington State.

It is exhausting when we all know none of this will likely matter in a few years when the top 50ish programs form their own league and the rest of us have to reform into a new division that will likely be more regional based.

You're right, its not even worth mentioning the people responsible for putting CFB in this mess are now trying to guilt fans into funding player's salaries. We should all just shut up and be thankful, right?

He has a job because Morris came to UNT wanting to run a 3-3-5 and Caponi had 3 years of P4 experience at one of the only schools that's run it well (Iowa St). Sadly, Caponi was probably the most qualified coach we could have hired. IMO, Morris is the one responsible for the disastrous defense we've seen the last 2 years. Last year should have been a wakeup call that the 3-3-5 was not going to work, but instead of changing course they doubled down and the DBs they brought in to help are now suspended. It's a true shit show.

Beat Wyoming to finish 3-1 in OOC play. We would have all signed up for that a month ago. No matter how bad the 1 loss was.
