Has anyone ever seen Coach McCarney's eyes?
UNTcrazy727 replied to golfingomez's topic in Mean Green Football
Obviously, if it's THAT big of a health problem and he's THAT uncomfortable with the whole situation then don't do it. I just think it would be a good show of support for coach Mac. -
Has anyone ever seen Coach McCarney's eyes?
UNTcrazy727 replied to golfingomez's topic in Mean Green Football
Even if they're healed he should leave them on for games. I can't imagine him any other way. If the AD had any brains they would have a coach Mac sunglasses night for the student section. -
You do realize we're playing Arkansas STATE, not Arkansas? They only beat ULM by 8 or something like that. Sure, we'll have to play a good game, but it won't have to be perfect.
-
I don't see the point in all this hostility over about 7% of the student population. Greeks will be at the game if we have a winning team. We should be more concerned about all the students who sit at home and smoke weed all day, while wishing they were in Austin for the UT game.

CUSAbbs Board Poll On Who Replaces Houston
UNTcrazy727 replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
Going to other message boards and flooding it with UNT info makes us look like the desperate fat girl at a party that will go home with anyone. It only annoys other boards when outsiders come to their turf. Most people here told TXST posters to shove it when they came here talking about their stadium. I like reading other boards to see what they think, but when you saturate it with a bunch of UNT bias it ruins the point. Especially, when it's a poll. -
Beat WKU & MTSU then upset AK St or Troy then we are Bowl Bound
UNTcrazy727 replied to Tree's topic in Mean Green Football
We could still go 3-1 to finish the year and not make a bowl. We're in forth place right now and the teams ahead of us could all still lose 1 (WKU) or 2 (ULL, ASU) games and still be ahead of us, if we go 3-1 to finish the season. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Sun Belt has never sent 4 teams to a bowl? Right now, ASU and ULL are pretty much locks for a bowl. So that leaves UNT, WKU, and FIU as the other teams going for the third bowl. That being said, I think if we go 6-6 we're bowling. But its food for thought. -
Vegas only cares what the public thinks we're going to do, which isn't much since we're a 3-5 team that gets killed on the road.
-
I'm not surprised with the line. Until we prove we can play on the road we'll continue to be a big underdog.
-
Waking on the field after the Alma mater to talk with players is cool, but running on the field right after the final whistle like we won some kind of championship is stupid. This is my final post on this topic. I'm tired of this back- and-forth lol Bring on ASU!

I love heckling the opposing team and using colorful language, but I hate the m'fing eagles thing. I never do it, but it has gotten louder this year. To me it's insulting your own school and needs to stop. The student section should be a rowdy and dirty place, but let's not deface our fight song...please.
-
To answer your question. A winning record would help. It's a slow slow process. We gotta give it time.
-
I don't like how the Talons get the first two rows at the 50 yd line and they can't even heckle the other team. Truly baffling...
-
It's a good argument over differing opinions. Nothing wrong with it. There are a handful of threads talking about the game itself if you wanna post in them.
-
Look, if you want to make yourself look like a moron by running onto the field screaming after beating a 1-4 Monroe team then be my guest. IMO rushing the field should be a VERY rare event that only happens once in a blue moon. If people want to walk onto the field after the alma mater to chill/ take pics for a minute that's cool, but none of this storming the field like we just won the BCS.
-
It's not a big deal, but I can't believe so many of you think it's okay for fans to rush the field after every win. Has UNT been irrelevant for so long that our fans have forgotten how to properly celebrate a win? Here's an article from Rick Reilly that sums it up perfectly... Rick Reilly's Rules for Rushing the Court The article is about basketball, but the same rules would apply to any sport. "Learn it. Know it. Live it."

DT said in the postgame that Canales took the chains off him this week and they went into the game with a plan to throw the ball. Frustrating it took 6 weeks to try throwing the ball, but better late than never. I'm a harsh critic of DT, but he played great last night. I hope we stick with the pass first offense because we don't have the oline to be a run first team. I'll buy into the "turned a corner" idea when we win on the road or win two in-a-row.
-
Storming the field when it's not warranted is considered very small. Storming the field should be reserved for big upsets and championships. Not beating lowly ULM. Rushing the field when you're actually winning games is worse than when you're losing. Act like you've been there before, even if you haven't. It shows class and gives the idea that you have bigger goals in mind than beating a sorry Sun Belt team.
-
You can have fun without running on the field and making yourself and our program look like a high school. Most of the students have the sports IQ of a 5th grader so im not really surprised.
-
I thought for sure it was gonna be 20K
-
We still haven't won two in-a-row since 2004 so hold your horses.
-
So? Homecoming counts the same as any other game. Dumping Gatorade is worse than students rushing the field. And we wonder why people think we're small time... Anyways, great game by the Mean Green. By far the best effort of the year!

Fouts Video Shows How I-35E Covered Walk-Way
UNTcrazy727 replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
Pretty sure they're putting a parking garage in too -
Maybe, but I don't think it's a sure thing like a lot of people do. Sure, we'd average around 24K a game if that happened, but unless we get a major conference upgrade I don't see us selling out on a consistent basis.

It's not that simple. Ask SMU
