  1. I tried to pick a win and loss not many people are expecting. Tulsa is my unexpected loss and Memphis is the win. I agree, we should beat Tulsa, but as we know, things never go according to plan.
  2. Because people like attention and up votes.
  3. That’s kind of where I was going. I think most people go to the Eagle’s Nest for current event, university, and political discussion. A lot of non UNT CFB threads get started in the Mean Green football forum. If we want to keep it clean, I think a general CFB forum would help. Just my two cents.
  4. I think what he is saying is the right thing to do is to contain the discussion to one thread under the Mean Green football forum. Not have it separated in its own forum.
  5. If Admins are willing to move VERY relevant UNT football threads to a different forum, can we finally get a generic "College Football" forum so non-UNT topics aren't posted in the "Mean Green Football" forum? Maybe after things get settled with the Pac 4 just rename the realignment forum to something more CFB generic?
  6. Would have preferred the standard battle flag. Oh well
  7. Considering they were coming off an upset win over #14 Washington and on the verge of being ranked, this was one of the most disappointing crowds I've ever been a part of. Great example why they were left behind.
  8. Get ready to be disappointed 😞
  9. Because the AAC is the better league...stronger teams, has the richer TV deal, and would give WSU and OSU more exposure across the country. The AAC could establish divisions that would limit how much WSU and OSU travel east of Texas.
  10. Look forward to trying this after missing the whole first quarter waiting in SMU’s concession lines
  11. Wait, you think potentially being in a division with SMU, UTSA, Tulsa, Rice, Stanford, Cal, Oregon St, and Washington St is unappealing? Im at a loss for words…
  12. But what are Memphis and SMU at risk of missing out on? If they say no to leaving the AAC the PAC will have to absorb the MWC and take whatever crumbs are left in the TV/streaming market. It won’t match what we have with ESPN. I think it’s different because Colorado lost faith in the PAC leadership to get an TV deal and decided to get a piece of the Big 12’s sweet new deal. Right now, the AAC has the best, most long term TV deal of the 3 conferences in question. Why risk leaving to essentially start a new conference that needs a new TV deal in a market that’s dried up? Sure, ESPN could reduce the AAC’s payouts if there were defections to help make a play at this new PAC/MWC/AAC merger, but wouldn’t it be a whole lot easier to push the PAC leftovers to join the AAC?
  13. I don't think FSU and Clemson leave if the ACC agrees to reconstruct their TV agreement to give them a bigger share. FSU's main complaint right now is schools like Wake Forest and Boston College get the same amount as money as they do. ESPN has obviously told them adding Stanford and Cal will increase their money. Otherwise, they wouldn't be voting on it.
  14. If the rest of the ACC agreed to change the TV payouts so FSU and Clemson get a bigger share I bet they'd be more inclined to vote "Yes" on expansion.
  15. Sure. But to say there hasn't been a vote is disingenuous. An official vote won't happen until its known there are enough "Yes" votes.
  16. How would you know that if there wasn't a vote?
  17. 100% I think you take former P5s whenever you get the chance. Plus, it would still probably be enough to convince any MWC teams to join.
  18. ...Because Alabama runs the best conference in college football? Slighty different than 4 bottom half P5 programs needing to find a home ASAP. The AAC knows the PAC 4 won't be able to get a good TV deal by expanding with just MWC teams. Why jump ship when you can wait them out AND add whatever MWC teams you want to get a TV deal that would rival what you'd get for going through the hassle of jumping to the Pac?
  19. I read SMU would owe around $20 million if they left for the ACC in 2024. Not sure if that’s accurate. I don’t think the PAC 4 have much leverage. It would be very complicated to convince multiple MWC/AAC schools to join. Especially when the AAC knows 3 of the 4 schools HAVE to find a conference. Why not just force them to join you and then bring SDSU and Boise St along? Those additions would trigger a renegotiation of the ESPN contract that would probably see every school get paid over $10 million/year.
  20. LOL at the TV suits if they think they're going to pull in a bunch of Northeast CFB casuals. The NFL is king in that part of the country and most people couldn't care less about CFB. This also applies to most of the West Coast. And what happens when Ohio State vs USC becomes old hat? Right now that game is such a big deal because it rarely happens. But will casuals keep tuning in once it becomes just another Saturday noon kick?
  21. I don’t understand UAB’s obsession with the highlighter green. Gross.
  22. I don't think limited amounts of throwback NTSU apparel is going to cause more people to start calling us North Texas State. Take a quick glance through Homefield's website and you'll see merch using a school's old name.
