We have got to get the ball to Tony more, your best player has got to get more than 8 shots in a game. He needs to be getting 12-15 shots a game minimum.

Great opportunity to defeat an ACC team on the road and to show continued improvement.

Hard to believe USA can open the year beating ranked FSU and then turn around and get beat by Tenn St.

I just want to win TWO games in a row!! Something we havent done here in a long time.
-
We should still be embarrassed and ashamed of getting best by that team, I would rather get beat by 25 to K St than get beat by 3 to these clowns from uah

Sounds like we didn't play well at all, but it is the 1st game of the year and gives us plenty to improve on. This was the 1st game for Jones and J Williams since last January, so that doesnt help. We do have a much easier game up next to help right the ship and get some rhythm. We have a long way to go, but we are going to be ok.

I'm SOOOOOOOO Tired of Derek Thompson's Terrible Passing
greeninok replied to chrisfisher's topic in Mean Green Football
DT has not played good, but we are getting outcoached and Middle is flat out whipping us. It definitely looks like they want it more. I can understand going for it on 4th but the play call was not a good one at all. It was 4th and 3 not 4th and goal. -
I would like to see another 2nd half comeback by the home team

Got drilled 45-0 today in a SWAC conference game, they are a terrible fcs team.

UNT Basketball: Norris gets chance to step in against Denver

But that's what he goes by -
I know we are talented, and i would love to expect us to win the league this year, but we are so young you have to almost expect us to be a little inconsistent. Next year we will be a good team and have a good shot to go to the tourney, but if Tony is still here in 13-14, we are going to be scary good. We could have the best squad in school history and not only go to the tourney, but have a chance to win a game or two. We all know Tony is a great talent, but Chris Jones and Jordan Williams will be so much better with 2 years of D1 experience.

Pardon me if i missed this, but what station is the game going to be on?

Everyone in Alabama is either in Tuscaloosa or in front of their tv watching lsu-bama

Reminds me of a 3-2 pitch that was clearly a strike that was called a ball, with the bases loaded. (wouldn't say that USC screwed)

Derek Thompson is Hurt, McNulty looking bad
greeninok replied to MeanGreen01's topic in Mean Green Football
I totally agree, if he can't beat out McNulty, then this staff did not do a good job in evaluating Osborn when bringing him in. I still think he gives this team a better chance to move the ball than McNulty. -
And This Is Why We Need Better Results At North Texas

Way too much to read, I was done after about a paragraph, but thanks for taking the time to post it. -
We need to be called the Fighting Lebrons
greeninok replied to emmitt01's topic in Mean Green Football
Maybe, but LeBron is pretty good and has championship expectations. We aren't that good and would be happy to win 2 in a row. -
Its called sarcasm....GMG

I went to the game last night and left very disappointed in our team's performance. My biggest complaint starts with the quarterback situation. I for one do not see how McNulty as a true freshman being our best option at QB with Derek Thompson being hurt. This is either a poor decision by the coaching staff or a poor evaluation of a recruit. If Osborn is the 3rd best qb we have 4 weeks into the year, then our coaching staff made a poor decision in recruiting and offering him a scholarship. You don't bring in a junior college quarterback to be your 3rd stringer, period. You recruit a junior college guy to make a difference on your ball club not hold a clip board as the 3rd string qb. My 2nd beef is the use of Lance Dunbar, you can't give a guy the ball 40 times in a game where you are getting beat 41-3 after 3 quarters. Yes he is our best player, but you have to get James Hamilton in there and give him some carries. My next problem was our red zone inefficiency. It's pretty bad when you can't score when you have the ball 1st and goal from the 3. That 4th down call was the worst play call i have seen all year, even if the pitch was solid, Lance would have stuffed in the backfield. The next time, we are 1st and goal at the 8th, was another disappointing drive. I think we put Phil Costa in there at center in that series. 2 times 1st and goal, 2 times we come up with ZERO points. Another thing is that we still can't block anybody when we kick field goals, we havent been able to block on field goals for over 5 years. With the inefficiences on our team you just can't come up empty on 2 1st and goal situations and give up 2 pick 6's, especially when playing a better and more talented team. When you do that, you get blown out like we did last night and yes before anything says anything the final score said we got beat by 17, but it was much worse than that. Had to get that off my chest, still a fan but a disappointed one. Go Mean Green.

I will be there, but I already live in OK an hour and a half away. I am excited, havent had the opportunity to get to Apogee, so this will be my only chance to see the Mean Green this year.

I don't want to be negative, but he is not coming to play for us. He can go play anywhere in the country. When you have schools like North Carolina offering you, you are big time and would be a fool not to go to a bcs school.
