Roger Franklin Wins the StatSheet Sun Belt Player of the Week - January 21st, 2013 Mon 12:01AM ET / Jan 21, 2013 StatSheet's Sun Belt Player of the Week for January 21st goes to Roger Franklin. Shawn Long from Louisiana has earned StatSheet's Sun Belt Freshman of the Week. Franklin put up 70% shooting, 7.5 rebounds per game, and 20.5 points per game. The North Texas senior put these numbers up in a win versus Florida Atlantic and a loss to Florida International. Franklin topped all scoring and rebounding for the Mean Green with 29 points and 8 rebounds in a 70-64 loss to Florida International. In the next game he added 12 points and 7 rebounds in a narrow 61-59 victory over Florida Atlantic. This is the first time this season that Roger Franklin has been selected StatSheet Sun Belt Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is Brandon Harris, a junior from Western Kentucky. Honorable mention goes to junior Augustine Rubit from South Alabama.

We should trade coaches!

I have worked for head coaches that did not want any imput from assistants. They just wanted some one to run practice and be a yes man. Needless to say I could not leave that school fast enough. I don't know what the story is here, as I don't know what goes on in coaches meetings. I was excited about the hire of Evans. I thought his knowledge and experience would be used more by a first year head coach. This does not appear to be the case, but again I don't know what goes on behind closed doors.
