I think this about sums it up...

Sometimes I do think this board should be renamed MonkeysFlingingPoo.com. Even if we are losing 2 or 3 games a year, I'm sure not everybody will be positive... I don't know alot of you, so I don't post as much as I would like...except in the recruiting forum. gmg

it seems like dt's are the most valuable limited resource in this world for college's. I bet perception will adjust over the next year. Maybe this is just wishful thinking. If this doesn't change, yes, we will be in trouble. I think this will change after this season in the new stadjum.

How can this be viewed as anything but an awesome step in the right direction? We need more participation/attendance/real gameday atmosphere. The tailgating is good(which I really really enjoy btw)...BUT, the most important thing is to have a real game atmosphere IN THE FREAKING STADJUM! Now, as for how Dan "The Man" is approaching things?... The greeks are an EXCELLENT place to start. I did the greek thing. I made some friends in that whole experience. Some of my fellow Delta sig's still tailgate every home game and ...gasp...go into the games. The greeks are a good place to start because most of my greek friends were more sports/competitive oriented... that doesn't mean it is always the case, but that was my experience. So, Dan is starting with what I perceive as being the most eager group to get on board. If this is simply the first organization on campus to be engaged, then this is an excellent plan. Before I joined the Delta Sig's and the reason I came to UNT to begin with, I started as a music major... Now this would be the most difficult group on campus to get engaged. Everyone just relax and realize that we are trying to build a real program and atmosphere in our brand spankin new stadjum. Everybody needs to realize that no matter what organization you affiliate yourself with... we are all on the same team. We are all mean greeners... We have suffered or are just apathetic, and for us to pull through this and be thought of from the outside as having a legit d-1 football program EVERYONE MUST PARTICIPATE. The greeks were just the first to be engaged. I got to experience the Nebraska/aTm game in College Station this last year, and I've got to tell you... The student section there just makes me want more for us. I know we can probably never match their attendance.... But if we can even just fill the student section and get HALF of their intensity, 30 to 35k can be a really fun, loud, and inspiring home field advantage. ALL STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS SHOULD BE VISITED.... I THINK that is what Dan is going to try and do. STRENGTH IN NUMBERS MYH FRIENDS... Now, lets all try and recruit an apathetic unt alum back to be an engaged, participating alum. go mean green

2 big bodies for the d end or lb spot.... and a WR?... alright. Welcome aboard boys, go get you some playing time... for some reason I like rooting for walkons.

Thank you for this list breakdown. Decent start for sure. It appears lots of non-aq schools are getting more of a head start... that school to the south has a commit from cali, Houston has 3 already... We must have more offers out there if junior day is any indicator. It will be interesting to see how we do this year in recruiting. For us to even think about moving on up out of the Sunbelt, this is how we do it. Keep winning some recruiting battles with aq and better non-aq schools, and things will get better. I don't think we have seen a coaching staff that can maximize potential like Dan, chico, and company will. Of course this is somewhat coolaid induced, but I really think we will see a difference. Scout has 44 showing interest in u of nt.

So, just to clarify, their claim is they would beat Unt and ualr. The "we are better now" logic discounts their 10 point loss to ualr. I guess the poor old sun belt teams are incapable of improving throughout a season, atleast not at the rate of the "great" smu. Meow The only cusa team we played, we beat, but we would finish in the bottom 3rd of cusa.... of course rice just served smu a steaming plate of one and done in the cusa tourney. meow For a school that views themselves as being intellectually superior, their message board peeps do like to make claims that don't have to be backed up on the court or with directly comparable results. Why don't they sack up and prove it by getting us into cusa? According to them, it could do nothing but prove them right. Their league would have an additional large university that could just help add to their win totals. It would be a win win for us and smu. They could further impose their supposed "superiority" over us. Do it smu, I dare you... when will the ponies whinny and stop meowing? On a side note, meowing is not particularly intimidating...

The Question We Are All Asking Ourselves...

I was a quart low, so I had a mean green kool-aid IV at lunch.... to be repeated at 5 for some extra power...is that enough, or should I have more? gmg -
So, I think it is pretty obvious that I am starting to be very interested in the recruiting process... can anyone tell me how info about interest and offers gets posted on rivals and scout? Do the kids give this info to these sights, do these sites constantly call these kids for updates, or are the high school coaches called? With offer number 12 out on rivals, it truly looks like we are offering the big time kids... has that always happened at Unt and we just couldn't land them? I wonder how many offers we really have out there. I am incredibly interested to see how this coaching staff does this next in recruiting with the first year in the new stadjum happening. I think attendance and atmosphere will positively influence recruiting more than actual wins and losses... Go mean green

This is just offensive... racist.

Mean is much preferred over nice, generous, or even passive. If it were as simple as changing the shade of green, I would think that would be an easy fix. Then again, McCarney green sounds meaner than dickey green or dodge green. I think our stadjum being Eco-friendly green doesn't help our cause. McCarney green will need to be extra mean to overcompensate for this obvious stadjum flaw.

I can tell you this. I made the family go check out the stadjum on Saturday before the men's bball game, and the parking lot was full with overflow in the grass by the ac... we went out to the balcony, and along the way, there were tons of young men in a room by the weightroom watching some sort of a presentation, with others walking around chatting... I felt like we weren't supposed to be there with all the activity, but I hadn't seen the stadjum in a while.... we took some pics of the stadjum and whispered about some of the people walking around.... you know, speculating that they were all 5* recruits begging to sign up and play at u of nt
