Nah... My job is more boring than his...

Chill out everybody. The only criticism one could throw out there for Vito is that he restates the record over the past 6 years... It sucks for us to stare reality in the face sometimes. He has just restated reality too much for some of us to not get all worked up. It is the offseason, so here is your update... one...two...three... The team is going through conditioning, and according to Dan McCarney, the team has taken to heart the strength and conditioning programs. Everyone is on campus and doing well in the classroom... <insert your random quote that reinforces these statements from players and coaches> The bonus is that we have 7 commits already. <insert statements about these guys being excited to commit to what looks like the perfect situation for them and how awesome the coaching staff is> <insert statement about how great a find these kids will be and how under rated they are by other schools so far...but expect interest to increase> Practice is starting soon... <insert state of the union statements as they prepare to begin 2-a-days> Then if you are Vito, restate the dismal results on the field that we are all too familiar with to get a rise out of us again... Vito does a solid job of staying on top of what is going on. If there is nothing going on or nothing to report(or is allowed to report *cough* big announcement on the 15th *cough*), then there are no new nuggets for all of us to consume and get excited about. I appreciate you Vito. Thank you for covering the Mean Green! and yes, I might be brown nosing a bit.

That is what I think about Devante Davis...

This is a great post. My favorite from that rose bowl team was Tank Carder. We still call my 14 month old son tank(wears 3T and some 4T clothes)... Tank was a 2 star and ended up making the biggest play in TCU history to seal the Rose bowl win over the Big 10 champ. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Lance Dunbar a 2 star recruit? He could end up a 3rd or 4th round draft pick in the NFL? I know 2 stars panning out like this are fairly rare, but hopefully we can follow in the TCU footsteps...you know, having the right coaching staff molding these young men and completely tapping into their potential! FILL THE STADJUM!

Very good info. I, personally, am very happy with the commits thus far and the open offers out there. If we got 5 of those 3 stars, I will be more than extremely happy... I really hope the atmosphere is close to what i envision at the stadjum this fall... I think this will hook some of these nice looking fish. Lets go mac. Go mean green.

UNT Commit #5 LB Jarrian Roberts - Clarksville
SHOSS replied to Brett Vito's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
LB's, DE's, and DT's Oh My! Yesterday was a VERY good day for the Mean Green. Starting with the last class, I really like the young men coming in... no offense(ha) to the recruits on the Offense, but seeing lb's, de's, and dt's joining the Mean Green family brings a small green tear to my eye. I can't wait for our new d coordinator and Mac to mold these young men into captains of chaos... seek and destroy young men... seek and destroy! -
Why I'd rather beat Indiana than Houston
SHOSS replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
On a message board, aren't all discussions done on MUTE? -
If you play Superstition backwards, Stevie clearly states that keenum is going to throw 4 interceptions in the new mean green stadjum, including a pick six in the last 5 minutes of the game to seal a UNT victory... I can understand why U of H fans will not like their soon-to-be house of horrors in Denton. Man, this kool aid tastes like it has been spiked... I feel kind of funny... where am I? Go Mean Green!

Dallas Morning News North Texas Football 2011 poll
SHOSS replied to eulesseagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I too picked 6 - 6. Same reasoning... I think we go on a decent late season run.... -
Ok, I just heard the musers talking about this subject on the ticket... cause that is where I get all my news(of course this probably discredits me forever but I'm ok with that) Anyways, I want to preface this thread by saying that I LOVE McCarney and his newly assembled staff. So, this is NOT to say that I am not very enthusiastic about the potential this group has for U of NT... BUT, with what is coming out(of course this is Leach's take on things) about info from the mouth of Adam James, do any of you that didn't want anything to do with the Angry Pirate when we were going through the hiring process want a redo? I would have loved to have Leach(remember my preface about how much I do like McCarney)... I was just curious. Go Mean Green...The hot months are upon us and the sun is starting to win... With Football comes cooler weather...eventually...

Graded out at a 4 star? Ok... This is very encouraging... Welcome! -
http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_ia/sunbelt/north_texas/yearly_totals.php 1947 Odus Mitchell 10 - 2 1977 Hayden Fry 10 - 1 correct me if I'm wrong here, but 1947 and 1977 are both greater than 1936... aren't they? farging bastages....

2012 Commit #1 - Rex Rollins Rb/cb Tyler Chapel Hill
SHOSS posted a topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Welcome Rex Rollins! Tale of the tape: 6'0" 180... 4.5(on the track team) Per Mr. Vito, the first commit for 2012. http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/archives/2011/06/unt-lands-tyler-athlete.html No profile on Rivals and Scout so far. I would like to see who was the recruiter for this young man. PS, Rex, can you bring some friends? You are the first to jump on the Mean Green Freight Train. I, for one, thank you for your commitment. Go Mean Green! -
Come on now, is there any evidence to deter them from thinking this way? We have no idea how our boys will perform under the new regime. We all have high hopes that things will be better... until our football program proves we are not doormats, everyone outside our circle of hope and support will doubt there will be improvement. They have a 6th year QB that has been in the conversation for best in the country, putting up cartoon numbers along the way. We shall see, but we will have freakin awesome seats to see what unfolds... my guess is that the game ends up like the Kansas state game... BUT, I can not wait to see it. they can put up the laker fan over-confidence as if they know what will happen. It was fun for me to see them be dead wrong. Maybe this happens for coog fans... or maybe they are right... But really, who cares what they write on their fan forum... as long as their fans leave extremely jealous of our venue and atmosphere, I am ok with whatever happens in this game.... for the most part. I make the shocker hand signal on principal about 10 or 11 times daily... We should have adopted this. Do they also endorse the reverse shocker, the barbed wire shocker, the reverse barbed wire shocker, and the spocker? All variations should be embraced. go mean green.

His stock has dropped from 18 on may 5th... I guess his not playing in the spring game dropped his stock. Go Lance Go! Go Mean Green!
