  1. http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/081213aaa.html I can't belive RV actually called it "The Flying Worm" in the press conference!
  2. That "Logo" dates at least to the purchase of the current uniforms, and possibly all the back to when the band voted to call themselves "The Green Brigade" in the mid-80s, shortly after I graduated. A GB member from that time period may be able to confirm this. Certainly, long before the "SOW" was created. I wouldn't be surprised would expect if/when new uniforms are purchased to see the "SOW" replace that logo. After all, we did have the original "Flying Worm" on the band uniforms from the mid-70s to the early 80s.
  3. If Max Goldblatt had had his way back in the early 80s, Dallas would have a monorail! http://www.lib.utexas.edu/taro/dalpub/08520/dpub-08520.html
  4. To put it in terms that even a Bruce Hall jazzer understands: UTSA hasn't paid their dues.
  5. We can only wonder who the stranger was.
  6. i don't remember if this eagle was called Scrappy, but he certainly is from the Flying Worm era. He'd be more than welcome. Love those '70s band uniforms!
  7. The first thing that came to mind with the title "Offensive Coordinators in the stands" was Ramon Flanigan & Silver Eagle
  8. Any relation to Barry Corbin? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0179224/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1
  9. I liked this one Richard Ward http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5R_pS0h5Qk
  10. If this brings a tear to your eyes, then go buy a copy of Necessary Roughness. Watch it, and you'll always have Fouts!
  11. I'm reminded of Burger King's (no, not KFC) "The Subservient Chicken"... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Subservient_Chicken http://web.archive.org/web/20110426194400/http://www.bk.com/en/us/campaigns/subservient-chicken.html
  12. Congratulations! I thought you were going to say you were moving "to the east side" in Apogee, which would NOT be "movin' on up"!
  13. Unless he means Northwestern State, Louisiana.
  14. Yeah, living on D300 on the cafeteria side was great! Just turn the stereo speakers around to point out the window, put out a blanket to sit on, and climb out the window.
  15. This. And they'd probably bring a lot of fans - better make room in the Fouts lot for more RVs (recreational vehicles).
  16. I know that's a game against NMSU, but is it the game where DD puts on the Gallery Furniture hat during the post-game interview, or an earlier year?
  17. No "Metro-Tex", thank you. It's too close to Disco-Tex.
  18. Sadly, no matter where you are, the animal shelters are frequently "extremely full". If you are looking for a pet, you can go to a shelter, or, go to your local PetsMart or PetCo. Most of these stores donate space to volunteer groups, who themselves are even more overwhelmed than the shelters with cats and dogs.
  19. FIFY I try to stay at Homewood Suites almost everywhere I go, but the rate in Denton is more than I'm willing to pay. If it wasn't so popular, I'm sure it would be cheaper. I either stay at the good old La Quinta on Ft. Worth Dr., the Lewisville Homewood Suites, or sometimes the Lewisville Hampton Inn at Fox Ave, which has a Cracker Barrel next door and Braums on the other side of 35E.

  21. As they said on the CUSA board about the DCTF Rice Talking Point video, try watching it with the "closed captioning" turned on - at least you might get a laugh out of it.
