    rice

I always eat at Casa Rio when I go to the riverwalk, as long as there's a table along the water.
  2. Just let me know for sure, so I don't offer them to anyone else - not that there's that much demand for them. As for this Saturday evening - I think I have a place: Stadia Sports Grill. At least they say they have the game on their TV schedule. I was only able to talk to the hostess, who then went back to check (with the manager?). But it's so close to my house, I'm willing to take a chance. I'll have the KNTU feed ready. If anyone else is willing to take the risk and drive out to Sugar Land, you can join me & my wife, a friend & his wife (both alums), and possibly his son & his son's wife (also alums). It's in the Sugar Land Town Center area, right by the SW Freeway frontage near the Hwy 6 intersection, across from P.F. Chang's. If you look at Google maps street view, you'll see a painted facade, since the photo is a few years old and the place is only a year or so old. https://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Stadia+Sports+Grill,+Lone+Star+Drive,+Sugar+Land,+TX&aq=0&oq=stadia+sports+grill+suga&sll=29.55281,-95.3919&sspn=0.015418,0.022166&vpsrc=0&gl=us&ie=UTF8&hq=Stadia+Sports+Grill,&hnear=Lone+Star+Dr,+Sugar+Land,+Texas+77479&t=m&z=17&cid=999270820520135931&iwloc=A And according to the main web page, they also have locations in Pearland, Westgreen (wherever that is), and the Woodlands (hear that, SSP!), so they may work for others not near Sugar Land.
  3. I keep telling my wife that we're moving to Denton when I retire. I would love to have one of the properties which is adjacent to Eagle Point - just walk to Apogee!
  4. Obamacare computer code riddled with typos, Latin filler text, desperate programmer comments and disastrous architecture Warning: this article is fairly technical. http://www.naturalnews.com/042428_Obamacare_exchange_Javascript_critical_errors.html##ixzz2iZpRh1ze
  5. Just feed the students (once they're in the stadium).
  6. I haven't had much of a chance to look yet. The trick will be to find a place that has Comcast AND subscribes to the package which includes the Fox College Sports channels. I know DISH doesn't carry FCS, and it doesn't appear that it's available on DirecTV in Houston. FCS Central should be Comcast channel 120, 121, or 122. I'm guessing Buffalo Wild Wings might have it, but I haven't gotten over to the Sugar Land location to ask yet (sorry, I chose to listen to the podcast tonight). You might try the BWW closest to you. But don't just ask - ask them to switch to that channel to see if they are subscribed. If you're tempted to subscribe at home - it'll cost you $50 a month. Didn't find that out until almost an hour into the Tulane game, and we decided it wasn't worth it - so we stuck with Hank & George.
  7. Are they changing the bumper music to "West End Girls" for tonight? Tune it to find out!
  8. Sounds like he's learned his lessons from "Bull Durham"! Crash Davis: It's time to work on your interviews. Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: My interviews? What do I gotta do? Crash Davis: You're gonna have to learn your clichés. You're gonna have to study them, you're gonna have to know them. They're your friends. Write this down: "We gotta play it one day at a time." Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: Got to play... it's pretty boring. Crash Davis: 'Course it's boring, that's the point. Write it down. Go Tony!

Because they don't like Thin Mints?
  10. Must be because Mexia is part of the Wacoplex.
  11. Stop. Who would cross the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see.

I think SSP got lost and ended up at Houston Baptist U in the heart of Sharpstown, and THOUGHT she was at Rice / West U. Hint: Rice is in CUSA and has a 70,000 seat stadium. It's hard to miss it, even with all of the trees in West U. HBU just took one of the empty spots in the SouthLand conference, and has a football field but no bleachers, let alone a stadium. Shopping in West U: High-end boutiques. Shopping in Sharpstown: Plaza de las Americas (formerly known as Sharpstown Mall), or the "Everything's a $1.00" store.
  13. Who should I ask for when I call? Send me a PM if necessary.
  14. Or, stay on the MS Gulf Coast (Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, Biloxi) - there's several casinos, and plenty of motels.
  15. The 35E construction will unfortunately reinforce the impression of Denton being "far away", so the AD is going to have to work that much harder to get Apogee filled. Although it's great to have home games televised, the combination of that and the construction will give fans an excuse not to come to the game no matter how much we're winning. I think the promotions involving the A train have promise - I'm even considering staying in Lewisville and taking the train from the Hebron Parkway station when I drive up from Sugar Land - but it will take more than that. Avoiding scheduling home games on the same day as TX-OU, and on the weekend that Texas Motor Speedway has their race (which would have been the case if the Rice game hadn't been moved to Thursday night) would help too. But I know that's not completely in the AD's control.
  16. I don't have club seats, but if none turn up, how about seats in section 105? I have 4 seats, and I'll be by myself. So if you have a party of 4, we'd just need one more seat in that section, and that's not hard to get (unfortunately). Send me a PM with a way to get in contact with you. I'm in Sugar Land, BTW. I'm going to make inquiries in the next couple of days to try to find a place which gets Fox College Sports for the So. Miss. game.
  17. Notice the GREEN (not red) Solo cup!
  18. No. A bad, plodding song. The reason Roseanna works is that the rhythm drives it.
  19. Congratulations, Emmitt!
  20. Raise the flag! Play SMU in that parking lot, since there's no Safeway?
  21. Make it "SCRAPPY NEEDS YOU", and use the new Scrappy "cartoon" holding the NT Battle Flag!
  22. So last year Mike Grant was coaching running backs, and we had a running game but no passing game. This year, he is the wide receivers coach, and we have a passing game but no running game. The obvious answer is to clone Coach Grant, but since that's not possible...
  23. Not to excuse the false start penalties, but is it possible that the emptiness of the Superdome, and the echos that such a large empty place would have be the cause? I'll say it again, that's no excuse, at least after the first one.
  24. Houston Comcast carries all three Fox College Sports channels. I confirmed at my friend's house that the game is being shown on the FCS Central channel (121 I believe). I used to set up watch parties at SRO NW Mall back in the bowl years, but they closed early this year. Given how big the Houston area is, I think more local watch parties would be the way to go, but then again, it's hard to get a place to put the game on if there's only a handful of people. If anyone has a suggestion for a place (sorry, not Texadelphia), I'm listening. If you're willing to come out to Sugar Land, perhaps we could try the Buffalo Wild Wings on Hwy 6. Between my wife & I, my friend & his wife, and my friend's son & his wife - there's six to start with (all of us are NT alums)...
