Moving to Colorado!

when did they give away those tiny Apogees? I've been to almost every game, and I didn't get one. I feel deprived. :( -

I think I can speak for those of us still left in section 105 after five years that there is no way that it is too loud. -
A Nice, Pleasant Little Surprise This Morning...
Stix replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
With a title like "A Nice, Pleasant Little Surprise This Morning", I expected you to have posted a picture of a flaming paper bag of crap... I'm glad I'm wrong - and glad that the message isn't "the least expensive education".. It's actually something to point to with pride. -
@Cerebus - wrong comedian!

Finally! I've been waiting for the time to be announced. Since it's not a TV game, I figured it wouldn't be early - last year I imagine the early kickoff caused some problems for HC event scheduling,

Flying Worms Throwback Helmets in Stadium Store
Stix replied to All About UNT's topic in Mean Green Football
I'd love one (my first year at NT was 1979), and I'm Jewish! :) I'd hang it on my in-laws tree, along with the Michigan, Michigan State, and TSU-San Marcos ornaments. Since my father-in-law graduated from NTSC in the mid 1950's, I'm sure he'd get a kick out of it. Did you ever think of having an all - NTSU tree, and hang all of those ornaments? The tree is green... -

I'll have to drop hints that this would make a great birthday present (the mini). Now, if they would just make some more Booger bobbleheads! -
Why I Defaulted on My Student Loans
Stix replied to Harry's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
You might find this interesting: A Message From Generation Z: Thanks For Nothing The problem, of course, is that only about 1/3 of those that enroll in college actually graduate. This leaves a large number of individuals heavily debt burdened without the college degree needed to obtain a higher wage level to support the debt. Its a vicious cycle that now weighs on a large group of the younger generation and negatively impacts future consumption trends in the economy. -
Once again, you must be confusing the area Rice is in with the area UH is in, because West U is one of the most upscale areas in Houston. Now the area around UH / Tx Southern is downright dangerous.

Why I Defaulted on My Student Loans
Stix replied to Harry's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I haven't had time to chime in on this topic before this, and really don't have time now. I work in IT for a major debt collection firm which has a significant amount of business in collecting on student loans, so I know quite a bit about the subject. I can't give any specifics, as it would break the non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality rules I work under. But this headline (never mind the article) pretty well sums up the problem, in my opinion: Study blames college tuition arms race on schools addicted to federal aid Truth in posting: the article is from Fox News, so some of you will dismiss it offhand. -
The store is hardly even needed other than on game day, but on game day, it's so crowded I don't even go in. I wonder if there would be a way to set up a custom tent on the semi-circle on the north side (which is almost, but not quite under the wing) for a larger game-day store?

Rob Evans offer perspective on Confederate flag

Fine, @Coffee and TV. @KRAM1, I agree - and "Public Media" (as they now want to be called) needs to be honest. The "messages from sponsors" are advertisements, and the organizations are hardly non-profit anymore - PBS productions show up on various cable channels these days. As for pledge drives - that always has made me want to turn the channel, rather than making me want to give money.
