  1. Let's not forget all those that have lied, cheated, commited fraud, hell even murdered to amass that wealth. You have those great American's that have bought companies, let every single employee go and sold the assets for a huge profit. Great indeed. I don't think you have read one single thing I have even typed, hell at this point I am not sure you can even read. I actually agree that farms and working properties should not be taxed and have said that at least a couple of times, yet you still bring it up like I am arguing it with you. Not once have I mentioned a redistribution of wealth, yet you can't seem to get off that point either. Everything in this country is double taxed or more if you really look at it, but you sir are blind. You may be the most naive person in the history of the world to think that all of these rich people are such hard working great americans. Sure some of them are, but every rich person is not a great american, in fact most probably aren't. How about the hundreds of millions of American's that have paid social security tax and medicare tax? Do they not deserve to receive the benefit of the money they have actually paid in for these services? If I have a choice of removing the GW Bush "I am a rich man's best friend" tax cuts, or giving the millions of american's that worked until retirement social security and medicare, I choose the latter without question.
  2. Actually it would as the money used to buy the lottery tickets has already been taxed with the people who buy each ticket sharing the burden of that tax, and the winner of the lottery taking the tax burden on the winnings. While in an estate situation, the person who built the estate is taxed, and the person who inherits it is also taxed.
  3. I am sorry but I do not equate inheritance as building family wealth or a family business or working their entire lives to do so, perhaps their father or grandfather did. In many ways people that inherit do win a lottery, it's sad that you do not see the corelation. I don't think I ever mentioned wealth redistribution as this weath would not be redistributed it would go to our failing government. You do realize that 99.99% of people that inherit huge estates have done absolutely nothing their entire lives right?
  4. If this tax exemption applied to just property then I wouldn't have a problem with it, especially working properties like a farm or ranch. However, it doesn't and I would be willing to wager that farms and ranches account for about .1% of people affected by this. My wife works at a law firm that specializes in estate planning, and I have never heard her say anything about a farm or ranch. In fact about all she ever says is how rich these clients are and that they are saving about $2 million dollars each on taxes....If you think this exemption was created to help farmers then you are way off....It was created to help the rich get richer, primarily GW Bush's buddies save $2 million per estate....
  5. I suppose you think lottery winners should not be taxed also, that is basically what you are saying, anyone that gets something for nothing should not be taxed. Great idea!
  6. Well that certainly clears up any questions about why George Bush would make a law granting Estates a $5,000,000 tax exemption....I mean let's face it those are the people that really need tax breaks.
  7. A debt ceiling is to prevent an organization from exceeding the amount of debt they can reasonably service while maintaning competent levels of service. I work in municipal finance, and at my city this expressed as a percent of our tax collections. We have a maximum percentage of property taxes that can go towards debt service while the remainder goes towards maintanence and operations. The federal government seems like they just do whatever they want to, and lets not forget, big business runs this country now as they are the ones contributing the all of these politicians campaigns. There is a reason why the richest 1% of the country gets the most favorable tax breaks, his name was George Bush.
  8. The State does not get property tax, only cities, counties, school districts, state colleges, hospitals, municipal utility districts, public imrpovement districts, etc. get property tax.
  9. I am going tomorrow to pick my seats, do you go to the athletic center or the ticket office? I am pretty sure the paperwork said athletic center but I cannot find it!
  10. Lance's weight is the same or higher than 12 of the 21 players ranked ahead of him. Some of the players listed weigh in the 180 pound range, which is not what NFL teams are looking for in a RB.
  11. I think Mean Joe could still start for us at DT!
  12. Are they going to put him in Senior History? In my day, freshman history wasn't all that easy, and the tests in health class were pretty tough. If he is a Kinesiology major then those physical performance classes are required too.
  13. I will be in San Antonio for a conference that week....And even then I don't get make it to For Worth until about 6:30 every night as I work in Highland Village. Oh well, I hope the rest have good turn outs. I think I should have tried to make the Denton one, that was my mistake! I think if they were from 7-9 it would have been better, the metroplex is so spread out and alot of people commute to work.
  14. I think just inviting the Mean Green Club was not the best idea. I haven't been able to make any of these things because they are on weekdays at 6 pm and I commute from Fort Worth about an hour to work and get off after 5:30. As much as I would like to go to one, there is no chance for me to make one. What is the membership of the Mean Green Club? I just joined a few months ago, but I didn't think that there was over 1,000 members. So basically they are having multiple events for an target audience of less than 1,000 people? Perhaps the goal was to get MGC members a more intimate forum with the coaches and not have a huge turnout, which in that case I would say they have done a great job.
  15. Nobody outside of your tiny bubble in Dallas looks at SMU as a big boy in any way, shape, or form. You, my friend, are the one that needs to get real. There are plenty of teams that play in worse conferences than SMU and have more clout than SMU on the hardwood. Take Western Kentucky, for example, much better program, facility, tradition, wins, more prestige than SMU, in fact it isn't even close. They play in the Sun Belt. Does SMU have better facilities than UNT right now? I am not so sure about that, at least after this fall. I could care less about playing SMU, we have bigger fish to fry. If you think SMU's players are going to be excited to play in front of less than 1k fans then you are wrong yet again. I am fine playing UTA every year as they are better than TCU and SMU anyway. I know that you probably laugh at that because you are so high on a bunch of players that have never played college basketball, on a team that just lost by far its best player, but as hard as it is for you to hear it is true. You have turned no corners, and your coach will find a way to leave you wondering why most of these players never developed into what they could have. While we will probably make it to the NCAA's 5 more times before you win a game in your conference tournament, or beat a team from a real conference. Good luck, you will need it.
  16. If you are referring to SMU as the "big boy" in your scenario, then you are as dumb as you sound. I don't know many self-proclaimed "big boys" that get 1,000 fans on a good night, when the so-called little guy draws over 4,000 nightly. Say what you want, but SMU just lost the best player they have had in forever and was .500 against division one teams. The only corner you have turned is from bad to mediocre, congratulations.
  17. We are putting together a team that can have a profound impact on a national scale!
  18. I volunteer to "Rub my thing" on it...
  19. I saw some signs from Knox this year, he may not get a ton of minutes but I think he can be a guy that can give a solid 10-15 minutes a game. If he can make more improvement, he could be someone who has value. I also hate the fact that kids that work hard and maybe don't have the talent can have their scholarships taken away. For once I would like to see the star that doesn't work hard, doesn't do well in the classroom, and breaks the law have their scholarship taken away.
  20. I would, against Division 1 teams they were .500.
  21. The Mavs can beat anybody (except the referees) if they play defense and Dirk gets some help. Every game I watch I get less and less interested in the NBA due to the officiating. I think Pro Wrestling is more of a sport at this point.
  22. This dude actually believes that SMU is a better basketball program right now than UNT. And he bases this on some recruits that have yet to set foot on a college basketball floor? Knowledge or false hope and shear stupidity?
  23. That is a chance I am willing to take. Your "actual knowledge" generally consists of backhanded comments, false information, Pony wishes, and a large steaming pile of Pony dung....
