Yes...He also leads the conference in total offense and is 28th in the nation overall...And whom would you start in his place? Mistakes are coachable, talent is not...

I listened as well, couldn't make it up there... I like what Dodge had to say and the fact he understands how easy it is to lose a team and get ina bad funk... Sounded like they know what they need to do to fix their mistakes, and like most, feel we're on the verge of breaking this thing open and stringing some w's together...

We're a better place to put your money than most think...UNT has paid off so far this year very well....We've covered this weekend, against Ohio and against Ball State... Bottomline - We beat ourselves - Lack of talent should give no hope for a turnaround...What we see is undisciplined talent...That can change in a week, hard to do, but can happen... FAU - Win Tory - Loss WK - Win ULM - Win FIU - Loss Army - Win AK State - Win 5-2, AK State could go either ways in my mind...Ageed that this weekend is crucial, absolutely pivotal for the development of this team... Riley can lead this team, just has to play within himself...We've got playmakers, we've got the talent on both sides of the ball...A new day is dawning...

Your MBA paid off my friend...I feel the exact same way! A couple of penalties and a couple of mistakes away from 3-2, even 4-1...We've been competitive in every game and had a chance against MUTS to get it within 1 score, until a defensive penalty. This team is learning how to win and learning that a few plays will decide a close game. That's two games in a row that this team had chances to lay down just prior to or at halftime and it didn't. They were down by 14 and came back to tie it at the half in this one...And Outscored MUTS in the 2nd half... 4 turnovers to their 1 and we still had a chance to win at the end... We are so close, now is not the time to abandon ship...The storm is almost over, I truly feel that...

Loved it Charlie! Gandy's been a difference maker with the Special Teams Unit... But more than anything I like the fact we're willing to try something new in hopes of a better outcome... I like the bunch, looks like a pack of wild dogs chasing down a poor little rabbit...

Spot on! Last year was disheartening, this year leaves me more optimistic... We're two plays away from being 3-2....Let that sink in for a moment... Call it what you will, but losing close games and heartbreaking losses will make these kids stronger and teach them how to close out games, which we had several chances to do with both Ohio and ULaLa...

Green: 24 Red: 20 Defense wins this for us... -
Yes, you can find reserved seats all the way up to kickoff, bought 2 last week as the game was starting for Sec. E as well...
-
Bottomline: I like these type of kids...Everyone deserves a second chance... I think get him eligible and cleared and let him play asap, next year is his last year, so take advantage of any time you can get him this year.. Belt "seems" to be better because we can't beat the snot out of every conference opponent like we did in the early part of this decade. Belts not better, we're not as good as we once were...seems obvious I know...

UT San Antonio in a couple of years...Battle of the Birds...With some half road runner/half eagle trophy... Southern Miss...Battle for the Eagle's Nest...Trophy us a golden bird's nest... I don't care with who or what we name the trophyt, but damn it's nice to play for a trophy at least once a year guaranteed.

I cannot remember using my emergency rain parka twice in the same 12 months...Don't want to drive 6+ hours to watch a game in the rain...

Ul Notes: Offense's Struggles Frustrating Cajuns
FloMoGrad replied to mgsteve's topic in Mean Green Football
And Atterberry is the sickest punter in the belt...that don't keep stats on punts downed inside the 20 or inside the 10, but I guarantee he leads the conference....0 touchbacks for the year speaks to that... If it's a punt fest, we'll win the field position battle all night long! -
The best game plan in the world was going to get us a win that day. Alabama is one of the top 5 teams in the country, we're nowhere close to that level, nor have we ever been anywhere close to that level in the last 25 years, perhaps ever... If we beat Ak St, then thier near loss against Iowa is just that, another loss...We played Bama for a $900K pay check. Without that game (and the others like it), we don't fund a Football team, nor do at least 60% of all college football programs... And Iowa will be lucky to finish the season in the top 25...

If weather is good, we'll be there, Myself, wife and one year old son's first football road trip of his young life... Driving in Sat morning, staying the night, and coming back on Sunday....Can't wait and see ya'll there!

Appreciate the links, but neither of those actually have them available for sale....Spoke to that guy on Ebay...He has someone make the jerseys for him and then hegets them signed... I'm looking for something a little more authentic and non-autographed, I'd want to have him personally auto it for me... Thanks again for the help though! Looking like I'm going to have to find a jersey manufacturer or figure out how to do it on my own... No name, 3/4 length sleeve, narrow shouldered, three striped on the shoulders, all tack and twill, straight up old school classic...
-
Call me old school, but that's exactly what I wanted to know...3/4 sleeve, all heavy cotton, everything stitched on, that's what I figured...If they don't know, then let them ask...
-
Looks like the same photo shoot though...Same haircut...Same Jersey... And the search continues...
-
Anybody have any pictures of vintage 60's and 70's UNT football Jersey's... Mitchell and Ness don't make College Throwbacks, so I'm gonna have one made and want it to be as close to authentic as possible...Even if it means borderline plain and ugly... Any idea when this pic is from and is this representative of our Jersey then?
-
Absolutely 100% agreed...Corporate greed keeps us from truly answering the one question millions of people ponder every year. Who truly is ther national Champion in Division 1A Football...
-
6:00 pm, thinking about making the drive down by myself...Don't think the wife and kiddo will join, so might be roadtripping solo...
-
Bottomline, we spotted one of the best teams in our conference 10 points in the first 3 mins of the game...Great teams have a hard time overcoming that... There is a stark and vast difference between last year and this year, and the mistakes we see are fixable, as opposed to a complete lack of effort or pride. We outplayed MTSU in the second half, but starting from a 30-7 halftime deficit is a little hard to overcome... Stay positive, stay enthused, stay committed as fans. Bring your friends, I brought two last week, and they'll be back to tailgate every game from now on... I truly believe we are on the right track, and as a good friend of mine pointed out....The Cowboys were 1-15 3 years before their first Super Bowl.. It is not an easy burdern to bear sometimes being a UNT fan, but it is absolutely worth it...

Former Tw Standout Excels For Mean Green
FloMoGrad replied to mgsteve's topic in Mean Green Football
Lotta talk before hand makes for a long solemn bus ride home... They ain't bama and this ain't Tuscaloosa... Wonder what they'll have to say when we're both 2-2 overall, but we're leading the conference? -
There are Junior Colleges with more NFL players than some universities... My Brother played at Kilgore back in 2000-2001 and there were 5 kids off his team end up in the NFL... DeMario Williams, Thomas Herron, Kevin Everett, Ricardo Colclough and Brandon Warefield... Not to mention the FS the Cowboys just signed, Marvon White, is also a former Kilgore player... And 2 years of JuCo ball binds kids together far more than you think....Big difference in being away from home and on a team vs being at the house with mommy and daddy and the team... Your team becomes your family... We always had boys at our house for Thanksgiving and Christmas from Kilgore... I love the Cedar Hill connection and love the Blinn/Miss Juco connections...
