  1. Has anyone heard any reports on this? High Ankle Sprain's can be a lingering nagging type injury... Is it safe to assume Nathan starts this week at Tory? Lastly, if Tune beats Troy, does he get the nod for the rest of the year?
  2. We've come a long ways, we're absolutely competitive, but my die hardness is taking a real kick to the nuts...More and more, I watch, expecting them to somehow throw it all away, and inevitably they do...But all it takes is one time they don't, and we'll be right back on track...23,000 fans for a 1-4 team...Homecoming or not, great turnout... If we can put a couple of wins together, the Army game could easily draw 25,000... Bottomline, my interest has not waned, but my faith in winning has...
  3. Not that cold...And if our play in the 3rd and 4th quarter didn't warm you up, the small metal bottle I bring in every week helps with the chill..
  4. Did they change the time, because they've showed it all year as a 3:00 kickoff... Sons 1st B-Day party that day, weasled my way into tailgaiting for the game and going into the stadium to be counted, with my 3 other tickets in hand, and then walking out...I always make sure every ticket I own gets scanned, regardless of the arse actually in the seat... 2:00 Kickoff means I'll get the first half in possibly...Nice!
  5. When you play with skill good luck happens... Like it's been said, bad luck is typically a lack of preperation... Ball Security has to become one of the top issues for this time immediately...Historically, you will not have consistent success while losing the turnover battle....
  6. Liked it, it's a better "athleted" version of the zone read Riley runs all the time...I don't care how, but get the ball the hands of our playmakers...
  7. 3:00 kickoff for the Holloween game..At which I will not be present due to my son's 1st birthday and trick or treating after...
  8. Wouldn't feel very big, but damn sure would feel good...
  9. I think you can handicap park for $10... I know they let me pull the 9 months preggo wife up to the blue lot so we could tailgate with the bus last year...Paid the lady $20 instead of $10, and it was well worth it...The parking Nazi's do have a heart from time to time...
  10. Shows Handicapped parking to be right along 35, south of the stadium and south of the blue lot...
  11. I've said it a thousand times... It's not easy being a mean green fan, but when this program finally catches fire, it's going to be well worth the trials, heart break and persecution from co-workers and other fans... Keep the faith, keep buying season tickets, keep donating to the Mean Green Club, keep coming to games... If you're not doing those things then don't bitch... Find it hard to believe we have "fans" that call for our coaches heads but don't even drive the 30-60 minutes to come to home games... If we had 1,000 more "fans" at each home game, at $10.00 a head, that's $10,000 per home game, or $60,000 per season in increased revenue...That could afford us increased coaching salaries, better recruiting budgets...you see where I'm going.. Bottomline, love the coach or hate the coach, you're perrogative, but support the program, try to do what you can to attract new fans and build it up, or you're going to be stuck with worse when it's all said and done...
  12. Hope you're right AK.... New Orleans and Mobile are much more appealing the Detroit...
  13. I really thought that terribly designed flyer was just wrong...Little did I know... That's going to make for a 8 hour tailgate...gonna have to pace myself a bit there...
  14. Outstanding! You sir, are what we need more of...
  15. GMAC Bowl is a fun bowl game to go to...Went to the 2002 game between Marshall and Louisville... Good times... Definately another step in the right direction...
  16. Well Said..This is one of my biggest fears...When he does turn this around and it starts rolling, our first bowl game and he could be snatched up by a mid tier BCS and get a nice payday and upgrade and we're left with our thumbs up our collective arses... I still think we have the pieces to roll off a 5 or 6 win season this year. The imporvement I see, and the attitude of the players this year, is my reason for sticking around thru next year...We're better than we were and return at least 16 of our 22 starters on both sides of the ball. We're poised and ready for a takeoff, just got to get out of our own way.
  17. UNT - 31 FAU - 13 We start our march back to the top of the conference this week. Defense wins this one for us...
  18. "You can’t be scared to make plays and I’m not,” Riley Dodge said. “I am not going to go into this next game, drop back and think, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t turn the ball over.’ If I do that we are not going to play good football. I will tell you this, though; I am going to put a premium on protecting the ball and not turning it over. I will learn from my mistakes.” This is what I expected to hear, but glad to hear it none the less...
  19. We win and most likely in spite of most of the issues you mentioned... In reality, if you change any one of those items (turnovers, penalties, readiness) we win at least 2 more games... Stop the turnovers and we could run the table, even with the crappy playcalling and high penalties...
  20. Don't most Big 10 (XI) alumns end up in the south anyway?
  21. It's not a necessity, but it's one of those intangibles that sets some schools apart from another. This benefits our School of Hospitatlity and Management, the Athletic Department and the entire city as a whole. I pray the city has nothing to do with it since it's the schools property and money...Denton is so short sighted and close minded when it comes to development and progressing the city, they are always a decade late and thousands of dollars short.
  22. Learning curve for Riley.... They both turned/turn it over way too much... Eliminate the mental mistakes and we can start racking up those 2-3 TD wins.. We had a chance to bury both Ohio and ULaLa and didn't... We're learning and getting better... Our O-line makes me coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs (happy)...
  23. Phillips came in with a a talented well built franchise, Dodge did not...Wade has digressed in each year...There is progression this year after the setback of last year. And Dodge hasn't gotten his new stadium yet...That's got to count for something right? Back to The Topic of the Thread: We're more competitive with more talent than anytime I can remember. You can "coach up" mistakes, you can't "coach up" talent. We've got playmakers on both sides of the ball, they just have to settle down a little bit and play within themselves. We play just a bit little smarter football and we could string some W's together...
  24. Nail, meet Hammer. Great Post... Call it eternal optimism, call it green kool-aid, I asked for more competitive, I've gotten it...I'll be back, season ticket and mean green club membership in hand, week in and week out, until I die. I made my bed when I got my diploma, I'll lie in until I no longer can. Can't bitch, if you don't pony up. To all those that want Dodge gone: Start a website asking for donations for a fund to help facilitate that process. Call me back in 10 years when you're still trying to scrape together a thousand dollars. Go Mean Green!
  25. Kids a beast and he's the one that wore Ball State out on that final drive...Literally ran them into submission... Love watching him run and excited to get Cam back this week as well!
