  1. Needless to say, it's been an interesting off-season. This has been the biggest roster rebuild that Eric Morris has ever completed. We lost 35 players to the transfer portal, signed 24 transfers, and added another 40 plus high school kids. The team is not going to look anything like it did last year. We could potentially have 7 new starters on offense and 5-6 on defense. I am glad they got bigger in the secondary and at LB. The offensive line is probably going to be the biggest that we have had in years. I know the staff is doing the best they can, but I am extremely worried about the depth at certain positions. We are one injury away from having true freshman starting at QB and DE. What are your thoughts on this roster rebuild? QB: Chandler Morris- Starter Cash McCollum (Fr) Tom von Grote (walk on FR) Drew Mestemaker (walk on FR) DE: Jake Shipley (Oregon)- Starter Terrell Dawkins (South Carolina)- Starter Fatafehi Vailea (Not sure if he is DT or DE) Breylon Charles (Navarro/Lamar)- Backup Keith Smith or a True Freshman- Backup
  2. I guess some movement is taking place.
  3. From the Ghost of Fry
  4. Sucks to lose Rausaw he was a decent contributor on the DL. West Wilson was a walk on and I believe he got a scholarship to go to Abilene Christian.
  5. So outside of the 1 Tulsa WR, we signed positions of need. Almost all played meaningful snaps at a high level. Hopefully these guys stay healthy and put up good numbers for us. I'm going to need a paper roster for the first few games to identify all the new players. We can no longer say Morris doesn't have his guys in here. The majority of the roster was recruited by his staff now. 1- QB 1- WR 3-DL 2-LB
  6. I was never worried about losing Chandler.
  7. Well that sucks. It might be time for life after football.
  8. 6- but I am still worried about the defense.
  9. Lost power for a few hours. A few trees down in the neighborhood.
  10. Big week ahead for Mason. It's between him and Shea Patterson to be the back up QB. https://3downnation.com/2024/05/26/its-up-to-the-coaches-qb-mason-fine-states-final-preseason-case-to-be-riders-backup-qb/
  11. I wonder if Raveon Hoston has any availability.
  12. I take it all back, he flipped to New Mexico St. Gross lol
  13. I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal. People know me. I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
  14. Mason seems to be doing well in the competition to be back up QB for the Roughriders. KD Davis was released unfortunately. https://www.riderville.com/2024/05/22/crawford-helped-roughriders-rack-up-sacks-versus-winnipeg/
  15. I would rather have Jeff Wilson over a washed up Zeke. Jerry is a great business man but a terrible GM.
  16. Cut Zeke and Sign Jeff Wilson. Jerry is incompetent as a GM though, so highly doubtful that happens.
  17. The staff that recruited him left for Tulane.
  18. Signed with Troy to the old staff (now at Tulane). Entered the portal after the staff left. He's a local kid that played well at Kilgore JC. This could be a sneaky good addition. He had 9.5 sacks and 35 tackles last year at Kilgore. Looks like he had 19 offers coming out of Kilgore (FCS and G5 schools). The DL should be much improved this fall.
  19. 58 yards of that was against us lol
  20. 2 reasons why I said this. 1. He didn't have the same graphic as the other commits. 2. I saw his stats and figured that was the case. 100 yards receiving and 1 TD. Sadly, most of his stats were against our defense. Anyways, happy to have him on board, and I hope he does well here.
  21. Probably a walk on, but who knows.
  22. He played in 11 games last year, decent stats with 47 tackles and 7 sacks. Previously committed to ULM, but backed out after they fired the staff. Seems to be lightly recruited, but does have experience playing in the 3-3-5. He looked pretty good against the run in his highlight tape.
  23. I use to live by Richard, he's a great guy. Last I knew, he was QB Coach at WT White in Dallas. First UNT game in 2005, Matt Phillips/Daniel Meager were at QB. I have only been to a handful of non UNT games. One memorable game was the 2006 Independence Bowl. Bobby Reid for Oklahoma State and John Parker Wilson for Alabama. Oklahoma State won the game on a last second FG. Nick Saban took over the program the following month.
  24. Glad we left that FCS conference.
