There are enough of them in this area.

Purdue and Stanford are the only P5 openings. Stanford finalists are Jason Garrett and the Sacramento State HC. I really doubt Jeff Traylor goes to Purdue.

North Texas using a pair of firms to find AD and football coach

A quick look at the Eastman &Beaudine website. They are bragging about placing Karl Dorrell at Colorado. What could go wrong? -
Jason Garrett to Stanford. Well he's a finalist for it.
-
The people suggesting he publicly say something are probably the same parents that make sure their kids get participation trophies.

When the new coach/AD gets hired, what will you be drinking?
jtm0097 replied to meanJewGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
In the morning, coffee. In the evening, a cold beer. Since the weather has changed, a porter of some sort. If the announcement is in the middle of the day, it depends on how many virtual meetings I have. A mid-day guinness or Titos and soda sounds good right now. -
New HC and New OC/QB Coach/Associate HC

I think someone posted this earlier, but Graham Harrell has like an $800,000 guaranteed contract for this year. https://www.wvnews.com/sports/wvu/harrell-to-be-highest-paid-wvu-football-assistant/article_85363c8e-731d-11ec-844c-e7a2395a402f.html -
We just gave him $1.9 million to sit at home and relax with his family. I'm not sure what his career earnings from North Texas are, but I imagine it's between $5 and $10 million. I'm sure he is not happy he was fired, but with the amount of money we have paid him, he should be set for several years. I appreciate his hard work and time here. If he doesn't want to release a statement, so be it.

North Texas using a pair of firms to find AD and football coach
jtm0097 replied to meangreen11's topic in Mean Green Football
Consultants are typically overpaid and deliver subpar work. I'm kind of worried that we are hiring a cobsulting firm. Does this mean that we don't have a guy? Or are they here to help with negotiations and what not? -
Tx St fired their HC on November 27th and hired GJ Kinne on December 2nd, a total of 5 days.

I hope he has a great workout for the scouts and someone signs him to a practice squad. I think the practice squad guys make like $11,000 a week. So that's over $200,000 a season. Best of luck!

For the Eric Morris camp, here are a few stats for the Washington State offense. Averages: 375 yards of offense a game 263.5 yards passing 112.3 yards rushing 79th best offense in the country

Interesting article for coaching search

Garrett is just too young for me. I think he's going to be a good HC one day. I know Lincoln became a HC at 34. However, it's just my personal opinion. Here is another article about Garrett Riley that you might find interesting. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/linked-by-more-than-dna-uscs-lincoln-riley-and-tcus-garrett-riley-enter-title-games-on-cusp-of-playoff-bids/ -
I know of a HS that turned down an OC from a state winning high school because he kept referring to his brother who was the head coach. The interview committee asked him "What have you done without your brother?" Turns out a big 6A HS ended up hiring this guy a few years later as HC. He had a losing record there but his big brother ended up getting a job at a FBS school. He ended up on his brother's staff and continues to ride big brothers coat tails.

Interesting article for coaching search

Not trying to crap on your link, but the Aggies seem to think that Garrett Riley will leave TCU to be their OC. The article also quotes known North Texas hater and UTSA alumni Mike Craven. He was bashing the university for firing Seth Littrell on Twitter. So I won't put a lot of stock into his writing. -
I hope he lands on his feet. He's primarily played on special teams. https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/football/nfl/player/63865/jaelon-darden Buccaneers waived WR Jaelon Darden. The 2021 fourth-rounder has played just 146 offensive snaps over the past two years despite Tampa's wideout situation being extremely injury-riddled in both years. He also offers kick return ability and between that and his early draft reports we wouldn't be surprised if another team claimed him to kick the tires.

Who will be the next UNT Head Football Coach?

So you're telling me that everything that you read on the internet is not true? How can this be? Football scoop needs clicks like everyone this time of year. They put out great content but they also have salaries to pay. -

So the end of the podcast, Doug said next time he comes to Dallas, he will hit Justin up. Does Justin Fuente already live in the metroplex? This sounds even more logical that it's going to happen. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/all-ball-pt-3-justin-fuente-on-memphis-turnaround-paxton/id1358843497?i=1000586343000 -

I have spent my afternoon listening to the All Ball podcast that Doug Gottlieb did with Justin Fuente. I want this guy to be our HC. He talks about his time at Memphis, Va Tech, etc. He talks about running Gary Patterson workouts that he learned from TCU, simplifying his offense, and beating the hell out of SMU. He sounds like a stand up guy. Sign me up. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/all-ball-pt-3-justin-fuente-on-memphis-turnaround-paxton/id1358843497?i=1000586343000 -

Fuente was at TCU from 2007-2011. There were several East Texas kids signed during that period. I'm pretty sure he knows the area. -
Gabe Brooks/David Smoak Segment About UNT Job
jtm0097 replied to jtm0097's topic in Mean Green Football
My thoughts, even though they really don't matter. I'm just a Financial Services Consultant, not a CFB one. Did Seth upgrade our roster after McCarney left? Yes! Could we have recruited East Texas and DFW a little better? Absolutely This seems kind of subjective to schools that Gabe interacts with. We have had kids from Desoto, Duncanville, SOC, Grand Prarie, etc... Hopefully our next coach keeps Luke on the staff and we can continue to bring good local talent in here.
