  1. I really like this pick up.
  2. I'm glad to see us have an East Texas presence again. There are so many talented kids from that part of the state. Hopefully we can continue to build the pipeline with some of the schools our there. His high school had a down year, but he is a solid WR/DB. He was previously committed to Texas State and recruited by Clay Jennings. 45 Rec 694 yards 6 TDs 75 Carries 514 yards 5 TDs Chose North Texas over offers from Texas St, Arkansas St., LA Tech and UTSA.
  3. Awesome, I was impressed with his closing speed on plays. He's very athletic and should be a solid contributor in a few years for us. Honestly, I think this is one of the kids that is getting hurt by the transfer portal. OU, Texas Tech, and TCU were all showing interest. However, it seems these schools take on a lot of transfer kids. I bet if his high school had a better year, he would have had more offers. This staff is turning over rocks to find kids and I like it. Offers: Arkansas State, Midwestern State, Cisco College, Blinn, Kilgore JC, Southwestern, McPherson College and Texas Luthern.
  4. He just committed as well. I think he will be a solid player for us down the road.
  5. I was posting this in the football forum but it was deleted. He was on a visit this weekend and just committed. It seems that the old Nebraska staff was recruiting him. He also visited Air Force, LA Tech and Boise State. He doesn't have a 24/7 profile and I didn't see any stats on Maxpreps. First team all district. I watched his HUDL video and he seems to be a good blocker. With Jake and Asher leaving, I imagine he will take on the blocking TE role. He also plays DE. There were a few plays where he split double teams and made good tackles. Welcome aboard West! 6'2 245 TE/DE
  6. I stole some of this from JD's post, but it looks like we officially offered him. He currently has FBS offers from Army and Air Force. On his twitter account, he has videos where he kicked one from 58 yards. I'm sure his leg will only get stronger. 7/10 FGs (Long of 45) 51/62 Touchbacks 50/52 PAT Joseph Kim Lawton High (Lawton, Ok) Kicker 5-10 / 190 https://www.kohlskicking.com/player-profiles/joseph-kim
  7. I don't subscribe to Denton RC "sorry Brett" but here was the original post with it.
  8. Per 247, the below 2 recruits are visiting. I'm sure our insider @TheReal_jayD will post a list tomorrow evening. Jayven Anderson North Shore (Houston, TX) Safety 6-0 / 205 https://247sports.com/player/jayven-anderson-46116359/ Kollin Lewis Gladewater (Gladewater, TX) Defensive Back / Wide Receiver 5-11 / 170 https://247sports.com/player/kollin-lewis-46113827/
  9. I think we owe him 1 years salary. However, it is offset by the salary he takes elsewhere. For instance, if he took an assistant job making 300k, the buyout would reduce to 1.6 million. I also think the salary pool for the assistants were higher than the last staff. I don't know those numbers, but Morris taking a smaller base salary helped out.
  10. It looks like Biff is getting another series on HBO. It will be good publicity for the conference.
  11. I saw this on my Twitter feed earlier. A good quick analysis of Isaac's play. They were impressed with him and said we are getting a steal.
  12. Yes, I think Wren was making around 800K and Jared is making in the 500s.
  13. Are you trolling? This has been mentioned several times. Seth-1.9 Mil a year Eric-1.2 Mil a year $700,000 surplus
  14. It looks like Dylan Brown-Turner is scheduled to visit Florida State this weekend. https://247sports.com/player/dylan-brown-turner-46098983/
  15. He's currently being followed by the staff. It looks like he made a few big visits during the season and summer. Not sure why he doesn't have any big offers.
  16. I just watched his highlight video, and he has more pancakes than IHOP. Ok, that was a corny joke, but he was mauling guys in almost everyone of these cherry picked clips. Aledo played a lot of schools with FBS talent and he even labeled some of the guys "3 star DT of 5 star LB" that he was going against in the video. I was impressed seeing him go out and block on screen plays. This is a good addition to the OL. http://www.hudl.com/v/2K7SDd Offers: UTSA, Air Force, Lamar, Dartmouth, La Tech, New Mexico St, Sam Houston St, San Diego St, SMU, and Texas St
  17. Demarcus Ayers- grad assistant He came to us from Indiana. https://iuhoosiers.com/staff-directory/demarcus-ayers/3279
  18. Kickers are people too. Welcome aboard!
  19. I was more impressed with his play at TE than LB. He has good hands and had a few TDs. On the defensive side of the ball, there were a few plays where he made tackles for loss while blitzing. I also saw him have a pass break up. I think this is another candidate for a redshirt. He is athletic but a little raw at LB. 11 Rec 140 yards 8 TDs 43 solo tackles 95 assisted tackles (138 total) 4 TFL 1 INT 3 Fumbles Recovered
  20. FBS offers between us and Arkansas State. I was impressed with his closing speed on plays. He did a good job fighting off blocks and making tackles. It might be the defense he plays in, but the LBs look slow to react on defense. At the FBS level, he would get mauled by an OL if he stood around for that long reading a play. He will need to bulk up and improve his reaction times. I imagine he would be a candidate for a redshirt. 6"2 210 pounds 129 Tackles 17 TFL 3 Sacks
  21. Ethan Miner, the Arkansas State Center that just committed to us a few hours ago.
  22. If you have 8 minutes of free time, here is a video from the ULM/Arkansas State game. Our future QB (Chandler Rogers) and Center (Ethan Miner #67) are both in the video. Ethan held his own and made some good blocks. If you have ADHD and want to watch the "cherry picked lol" @UNTcrazy727 plays, here is another video.
